  1. Missed the live broadcast of Eifel GP yesterday because I was behind the wheel. As well as behind the fence, on the Nordschleife.
  2. @John@C Your own thread has now gone off at a tangent really. Your issue is most likely the error of a technician or fitter and not a Fundamental Design or Manufacturing or materials fault.
  3. But from what you put in your opening post, you have had your car routinely serviced by the Skoda dealer. Are they trying to say you have had it serviced outside of the Skoda network?
  4. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/485862-30000-service There are contradictions with much from Skoda over the years and this is a recent one from them.
  5. Ironically doing nothing means the worst that could happen is that the 4x4 will not engage when needed and many owners would not even realise, the pump may have been overworked and need replacing, or you just carry on driving your now FWD only vehicle perhaps in blissfull ignorance. Being responsable and taking charge of the sitution opens you up to the risk of a mechanic who is undiscerning about which holes he uses and the subsequent bid for freedom of shrapnel through the diff case, a £4.5K repair bill & possibly months of inspections, engineers reports and legal proceedings.
  6. Surprised that past the MOT, looks like pretty severe leakage to me. I would change them.
  7. Remain focussed, dont allow yourself to be sidetracked by their bullsh*t, the more they produce stuff like that the more you should realise that you are on precisely the right trajectory and well they know it.
  8. @John@C Should what have been recalled? There are no Recalls, there are Recall Actions & Service Campaigns. ? Has your Yeti had issues before now? http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions They are trying anything they can. They will end up eventually trying the 'Gesture' of paying you paying a percentage of an over inflated cost. As it is their insurers or them that can pay up 100% plus expenses incurred getting a report done if there was a error in their workshop by their employee or employees.

My Karoq Scout with its winter boots on.
  10. I would feed that back to Customer Services to be honest. You may even get a survey to fill out after your dealer visit so mention it then too. Just take the caps lock off when you do, it's always best to remain calm when logging a complaint.
  11. Were they intimating that had you had it regularly serviced by them the crack would not have appeared or that they would have seen it and reacted accordingly? Double bullsh*t from me!! I hope you get a satisfactory outcome & dont get fobbed off with a second hand diff unit, not that there would be anything wrong with it unless another "I dont care what hole I use" merchant has been at it, more that they should hit where it hurts them most to the maximum. I think they knew straight away what they had done, it must be well known in their circles, that they wanted you to remove the car and said the service department was closed with immediate effect sounded very very suspect. Can a main dealer even operate without a service department?
  12. I specced my new 2015 VRS petrol with 18s, front parking sensors, front Assist along with Canton, the for me best options ( in winter at least) of heated front screen and auto-dimming door mirrors. Having experienced it , I realise now that I should also have got ACC. Although when traded in the decent options didn't seem to make any difference in the price. Frankly I barely ever used the FPS and wouldn't ever pay for them as an option. Mind you my father, a HGV1 driver, hauling huge trailers around the narrow roads in Devon and Cornwall, howled with laughter when I paid to have rear parking sensors fitted to a Mondeo in 2004.
  13. They are selling a car with Full Service History so it is online to be checked easily by them and to give to prospective buyers. They should be printing it out for you anyway when you get the car. I used to just call Skoda Customer Services and get them to email it but now they are unlikely to unless you are the keeper.
  14. Why not put your CD collection on an SD card or USB flash drive. Saves having CD,s CD player and cables lying around. Also means you can select album, track etc without faffing around with a CD player etc.
  15. Astonishingly lovely sunrise this morning. The colour came and went in the space of minutes.
  16. Yes. But I ignore them.
  17. Given the PIAA xtreme white plus are road legal they will still be the same 1500lm ±10% output of other H7 bulbs. As they have a blue coating, they will probably be very similar to the cool blue intense despite the PIAA 55w=110w marketing claims
  18. I suppose I was asking a rhetorical question; that recall clearly states it only applies to 1.2 and 1.6 engines....
  19. In the meantime try locking and unlocking the car while pushing on the flap, you might get lucky. One of our skodas has done this once only, and that sorted it. If you get it open its likely you will either need to lubricate the plunger part of the mechanism or replace it entirely
  20. Do you think it's the auto box that's slowed you down? Not literally, I mean psychologically. I find I drive a lot slower in my automatic than I did my previous manual. I can't decide if it's down to not feeling the need to accelerate up through the gears to my "normal" gear I drive around in, or it's me not wanting to spoil that nice green economy bar scrolling across the display. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your new car.
  21. Now give your VIN number to your local dealer and they'll be able to order the correct paint for you.
  22. If it was an estate I'd be all over that!
  23. The Servicing from new that matters is the Service and work done by their employee. The last person to be inspecting the car visually and actually draining oil at the Haldex Unit, or was it the diff they touched. Who did it and what their training and qualifications actually are and did they do it correctly. Who cares if the person you talked to does not know of other failures, unless they happen to be a Master Technician with years of experience and good vision and memory.
  24. from an online manual .. Unlocking– Open the boot lid and remove the right inner paneling.– Pull on the control cable in direction of arrow in order to unlock the⇒ page 157, fig.fuel filler flap
  25. Dear JR, I'm still in discussion with the main dealer where the land lies and approaching a resolution. The option is there for a new or used.I'm not entirely sure as yet . Regards
  26. Brilliant, thank you
  27. Please accept my apologies, it wasn't my intention to upset so sorry if it came across as snarky. For me, it came across as a suggested buy so had someone blindly purchased it based on that, they may have been disappointed it was incorrect for the car in question. I just feel it's worth adding a 'check this will fit' or similar to avoid any confusion or comeback I know you were helping out and I completely agree with the sentiment of trying to find a decent value alternative for the OP. Again, sorry to upset and please don't stop helping as that's what makes the forum such a great place.
  28. Front sensors were a separate option or tied in with the Park Assist. I have 18" Geminis and Park assist and therefore the front sensors. Well specced VRS were always hard to find, especially earlier ones. When I bought mine things like Nav and Cruise Control weren't even standard! Had to do a 9 hour round trip to secure mine.
  29. Interestingly this morning I had an email back from my local skoda dealer who said they would contact me about this over a week ago. Anyway, they are quoting £395 all in which is a number I might be happier with!
  30. Well I'm quite surprised by the different responses from the four local indie VAG specialists I've contacted asking about the Haldex service on the Yeti.. Garage 1 - says it doesn't need doing until 40k miles and they charge about £100 for the oil change and sieve clean. Garage 2 - acknowledges the shorter 30k mile period, but charges £220+vat as instead of cleaning the sieve they replace the unit (this was a price off the top of his head and she's finding out the exact price for me) Garage 3 - had to go and ask someone and then said they would have to remove and have a look at the pump and see whats involved in cleaning it, before they can tell me a price Just as I was loosing the will to live I went to the remaining specialist in my town... Garage 4 - the bloke stopped me halfway through asking and said "You need the Haldex oil changing and gauze cleaning, we can do that. We'll also gove your Yeti a once over while tits still under their used car warranty" So I'll be going with garage 4
  31. Black Magic paint code is LF9R
  32. This is a complex job. The headlights generally need a whole new controller; but the taillights are generally achievable (they can be easily coded in). With the headlights, you will need to ask the supplier what coding is needed to get the headlights to play nicely. You will also need to code in that you are running different DRL's (Daylight Running Lights).
  33. I thought seat belts are checked for wear and tear at every MOT. I'm sure I sure I saw the 15 year inspection on my Fabia too. I wondered if it had anything to do with the seat belt pre-tensioners.
  34. Sometimes found at the bottom of the driver's side door pillar.
  35. hello, I'm writing from Poland on my Golf 7.5 with a 2.0 engine and dsg, I have a similar problem with DSG "P" position. it looks like there is a global problem, so in the usa and canada this problem is "service action" (in the link), there is also a repair manual. I hope I helped someone. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2019/RCRIT-19V615-0044.pdf
  36. Dear G**, how hard is it to find the jacking points! Just use your eyes and look! I really despair of peoples inability to cope with simple tasks.
  37. Ok I'll be bad cop: You know that removing the dpf is an MOT fail right? And one that is being clamped down on.
  38. @JamieH86 Have you inspected them and is there an issue that is not wear and tear? Your eyesight is likely as good as whoever the Dealership would have scope them out. Lots of old posts online about maybe 10 year warranty, and how VW would have to replace faulty seat belts. Maybe because of issues in the USA and the fact they could get torn a new one if belts were faulty in the USA. As it is seemingly many of the possibly faulty seat belts in VW & SEAT's from the recent past have never been checked or replaced even though there is a Full DVLA RECALL. Why not ask Skoda / VW Customer Services and see if the Call Handler who should talk to VW Technical takes the question seriously.

@Darren65 Welcome. Neither will have been standard fit and provided with your car. Skoda penny / euro pinching on MY21 models. The Brochure if it shows they are standard with your model says they can change the spec and they often do. If they were specced as options by you then ask the supplying dealer where they are.
  40. First thing to check is the CAPS lock button.
  41. I've had Dolphin rear sensors fitted on my other car (Citroen C1) for around 8 years and they work perfectly.
  42. i dont know if he did, but he hasnt been on in 6 1/2 yrs, so.... you may be waiting for a reply. anyway, if you are looking getting coilovers, make sure they are an octy rated setup. the weights are different to a golf, esp the rear, and it wont sit right.
  43. The RAC told me to put: "I have been in touch with the RAC Legal Services and understand that the problems with this vehicle are all covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 specifically "Section 9 - Goods to be of satisfactory quality", "Section 10 - Goods to be fit for particular purpose", and "Section 23 - Right to repair or replacement". Other sections might apply in your case obviously, but if your car went in with a perfectly good diff/haldex and came out with an exploding one that act will cover it because it covers both goods and services. It'll probably be in Section 39, it's here: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2015/15/contents/enacted I'm almost certain it'll say somewhere that it's the garage's responsibility to show that it wasn't their fault, it's not your responsibility to prove it was unless a certain length of time has passed. So saying "it's a one off" simply won't hack it. Ring the experts at the RAC!
  44. Godrevy sands by geof worrall, on Flickr Godrevy sands this morning...Cornwall
  45. Sorry to say it, but this looks like another excellent reason NOT to use a by-pass relay system!
  46. 2 taken in Corfe Castle, I've passed the Wolseley plenty of times and finally took a photo
