  1. Hey Guys, I bought my 2019 superb Sportline Plus 272 4x4 a couple of months ago and have been adding my own touches to it since. I think I’m now at a point where I’m happy ... for the time being. Full list of mods below (a couple done by previous owner but most by me) 20” GMP Italia Angel Alloys Painted brake callipers gloss red Climair wind deflectors Tinted windows Boot edge protector Smoked headlights Smoked tail lights Maxton front splitter (v3) Maxton side skirts Maxton spats Maxton rear valance Maxton spoiler extension De badged rear Black Skoda badges Metal shift paddles Hard wired dash cam Rear facing baby cam and monitor OEM tablet holder in rear headrest Previous owner did a resonator and muffler delete - it’s far too loud for me so will be getting a customs exhaust - question is do I leave original tail pipes or go for quad pipe? More mods in the future methinks - please fee free to follow me on Instagram @sportlineplusuk IMG_0529.MOV IMG_0529.MOV

Yes 17" and above will fit over the 340mm fronts brakes which are the closest, 310mm rears are not an issue. Spare wheel well on the Octy will take a full size spare, it may lift the boot floor a couple of mm if the tyre has large rim protector. I have a 17" Steel with a full 225/45/17 tyre. Still technically restricted to 50mph but I feel happier on that than a space saver
  4. Well, I know you're speaking with tongue in cheek but I keep seeing that we're advised to get the cat(alytic converter) etched or marked in some way (I believe some garages do it free, maybe as part of some sort of theft prevention scheme) .... but I ask myself if the scumbags who have identified your car - then jacked it up - and psych'd themselves up for a quick removal job - are gonna say to themselves ... " oh, I won't nick this one as it's got a fancy number stamped on it". And something tells me it's gonna get sawn off no matter.
  5. I’ve since topped off the paint using Garage Therapy Sigma. The gloss levels and slickness of the paint are obscene!
  6. Like many, I haven’t visited this part of the site for a while. A now 3 year old somewhat put paid to detailing for a while (except a quick maintenance wash) but my car got some TOC a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I’d add it to this thread to help build some momentum! My process was: Snowfoam using Garage Therapy Decon Clean wheels using Bilt Hamber Auto Wheels and Bilt Hamber Surfex HD Rinse 2 bucket wash with Harage Therapy Decon Dry Decontamination using Bilt Hamber Korrosol and Auto Finesse Tardis Clay using AMDetails clay Single stage polish using Carbon Collective Hex 15 polisher using Sonax 04-06 compound on greenHex Logic pads Wipe down using Car Pro Eraser Coated using 2 coats of Gyeon Can Coat Wheels coated with Carbon Collective Platinum Wheels Tyres dressed using Gyeon Tyre Wheels coated with H2Go
  7. This evening's sunset......
  8. Say “No Thank You” to all 3. It’s a common ploy from salespeople. GAP insurance is readily available for less in the open market. I’ve used Direct Gap in the past for £124 (just an example). The polish trick is utter, utter nonsense. Tell them where to stuff their Admin Fee. Tell them you want a simple upfront single cost for a car. Chancers all! Can you guess I don’t have car salespeople on my Xmas card list

Just to update, I did in the end test drive the 20 plate SE version and really liked it so got it for just under £16 which I though was good VFM. It oddly felt familiar to the Fabia in some respects but with all the new technology (especially the electronic handbrake) like a space ship! As SurreyJohn said I won't miss what I've never had so the SE spec seems like a massive leap for me. I also had it serviced before purchase since it was due one soon. One question, with the digital service book, can any independent garage access it, subject to them having the right software or is it a VW dealership system only? I've a local garage I've trusted immensely over the years and want to keep the warranty going, but don't fancy paying dealership prices! £16k I mean - £16 would have been a real bargain!
  10. Well that certainly isn't my experience of the Niro Self Charging Hybrid. My charge figure can easily reach 100% on long downhill sections, and the braking effect is very useful, and I am continuously now getting +60mpg.
  11. 2018 sportline 280 in business grey... Jb4'd, this is picture from today after I've ceramic coated her...scrubs up well for a 3 year old girl 👀
  12. Hello everyone. You know me as stage 5 vrs owner from Turkey. Called ''ERC CHAMPİON 2010'' I could not find online if someone have it with solid or other software please send to [email protected] 2- Driver side heated seat bottom is not working. I check the sockets and fuses. they are ok. I need your advises where to check. 3- Brake update !!! Front and rear side brake discs must be change. I want to replace 288mm discs with 312mm. I need part numbers and DIY video if possible Thank you,
  13. A different colour roof defo gives a fresher look got the idea when I looked at the wife's MK3 (which is glass roof) - my dream is a hybrid MK4 VRS With the looks of the MK3 but power of the mk2 (with a glass roof) unfortunately it will never exist ...
  14. @bigman1976I was going to say gloss levels were amazing looking at the first post but certainly up'd it again with the Sigma. Awesome work. Funny how many in this thread mention kids! I think Can Coat is brilliant for gloss but like you I did end up missing a few spots when removing. I used this to top mine up before I re-did it recently. I've split the wife's Qashqai into three sessions so far. One more to go, makes it easier on back and shoulders too!

According to the calculator, you should be fine with one of these three dimensions. But I think you sholud stay at 19".
  16. There should also be be a hook type tool to remove the nut covers otherwise they aren’t easy to remove.
  17. More for the Australian members than anyone else. Which car manufacturers (if any) routinely send numbers of new build (unregistered) cars from the UK to Australia. I think the UK Trade and Industry Secretary may be lying (if by omission) or incompetent.
  18. and 53.5% to the EU. I was right that she's lying by omission.
  19. ^^^ OT but a warning to one and all and especially any overseas visitors to Scotland. Stracathro Services next to the eatery in the pic above might be selling the most expensive petrol or diesel in Scotland and as for eating in the place, Na nay never, na nay never no more.
  20. I faintly remember that some recent petrol cars may have it inside the tank?
  21. Looks like it was citigo badges
  22. @J.R. Are you sure you don't mean Plasticote then?
  23. Yay for the Aussies 😀
  24. Hi Kris, i had exactly the same problem on my Kamiq purchased back in September. I was. Following the instructions and contacted customer service. to cut a long story short, the fix was an upgrade on the infotainment system. A previous upgrade and a rest failed to cure. book it into you local dealer its a 20 min job
  25. Nice clean DRC install, if not the easiest to read, but won't be used that often. Back ground colour is a nice red to match the rest of the ambient lighting.
  26. Next phase completed... which most people would think is the final phase, but not quite. The build itself is done, but needs to be ran in for a month, then final tuning, RTA(real time alignment) and set to my exact listening requirements. Here's the pics to drool over. Does need some final touches, but that's me being a picky git Love the boot build, especially raising the floor and not loosing any floor space, there will be a grill on the sub to protect it. Also change of sub from original spec, changed to a Hertz MP 250 D2.3 PRO, keeping all the speakers Hertz Mille. Neat touch to hold the half false floor up for access to spare wheel.
  27. Yep, that's right. Gearboxes are nearly identical, there are just some reinforcements around differential on the 1.6 and 1.9 casings. Oh, one thing, 40kW gearboxes are longer than 50kW - 1.3MPi 40kW has same ratios as 1.6, while post-facelift 1.3MPi 50kW is the shortest available. BTW, why do you need crankshaft position sensor? 1.6 camshaft sensor wouldn't work?
  28. Done and more than happy with it. Car does need a good wash and polish. But now I want rid of the Sportline badge.... thoughts?
  29. Well wear with the new car, what did you end up getting? I'm from Ireland but living in Oz. Just bought a 4yo Superb 206TSI or 280 as I think they are called back home. Wouldn't be able to afford or insure it back home though!! You got a pic of your new bus?
  30. Thanks mate, yeah very happy with it. Waited for the right one to come up to suit and it happened sooner than expected and within budget. So much car per dollar! Real nice Karoq you got! Brand spanner notice. Hoping the Superb is the stepping stone to a Kodiaq when we start a family. In lockdown for the long weekend but we can't really complain given work is booming and life has been completely normal through the pandemic!
  31. Shock absorbers are well documented on this group and provided me the information I required to make the decision to 'fix' mine. New shocks on (Koni) and it's so much nicer to drive. Was the only thing letting a great car down. Angelo
  32. Fixed mine a few days ago using a similar one, Used a bit of double sided tape and stuck it just above the back of the head unit on top of a plastic piece at the back left if that helps at all. working perfectly!
  33. @Carlston @mikonk 8.0J wheels are 203.2mm wide. In no way is running those wheels with 235 tyres "stretch", which is running wheels that are wider than the tyres. A statement like that makes me question the rest of post 2 as well.
  34. I'm not expexting mpg to be quite as good as my diesel yeti, but I'm hoping it will be close. I plan to keep track of this and will monitor it with interest.
  35. You won't find it as such as it is now a combination CCM and CECM classed as a BCM it is on the drivers side in the footwell area, you will see relays and 3x large plugs that plug in to it
  36. Am looking the 1.5 tsi mild hybrid.
  37. Just got a Superb mk2 1.6TDI 105, here to ask a few questions, etc.
  38. I forget the name for it but you can set it to unlock all doors on the first press.
  39. Hello Anirudh A photo in your first posts (nice looking FL ) - you'll fit right in. Gaz
  40. Skoda UK have to authorise the Warranty Repair / Replacement. The Dealership is acting as your agent and dealing with Skoda. Skoda UK is in the wrong here and the Dealership are behaving badly. Read the T&C's and the exclusions. Read about making Claims on the Warranty. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_August_2021_New_Car-1.pdf
  41. One of the ac pumps fitted to mkiis had issues with the pulley nut coming loose and also shear plate issues meaning no drive to the ac pump so something else to look at.
  42. That's 100% a fake, it's one of the 'better' fakes but it's definitely not genuine This is what my genuine looks like: And mine appears identical to another genuine one shown here:
  43. Which is why there has been much debate on here as to why Skoda UK 'recommend' that the cambelts are changed every 5 years - no other VAG importer appears to 'recommend' this interval and Skoda UK have never been forthcoming with a 'good reason' so the cynics suggest it's just a revenue generating opportunity for UK Skoda dealers! But if a UK Skoda owner wants any possibility of a 'goodwill' contribution in the event of a catastrophic cambelt failure then not changing it at 5 years would be a major factor.

Agreed, subject to the note that I'd download Chrome, so as to not have to use either of the 2 worst browsers in the World for any reason.
  45. I also managed to track down the roof light bar, exactly as originally fitted. It's a Whelen Edge 9000 with front stobe lights and rear red halogen lights. I intend to have this full functioning.
  46. @Blairyc and I are Down Under, tyre 'season' types are far less of a thing here We generally fit what you would consider summer tyres year round. The Eagle F1s will sort it out I'm sure 👍
