  1. Yep, I had a new lad have a right go at me when I sent him to get some 😄
  2. @travs - u have a facelift. They have an entirely different headlight setup, especially the hardware & electronics. They behave different too. The coding & discussion above is pre-facelift related. The coding is not applicable to the facelift version.
  3. Fyi I've been informed by skoda the firmware update has been released and everyone affected should get a recall, but you can call your local garage and get it booked in
  4. My own solution was stainless steel jubilee clips. Cable ties is not my kind of solution.
  5. DPF sensor change makes this a Mk2, and also already stated as a 1.6TDI. I would strongly suggest getting the car read for error codes with VCDS as "many garages" may be using a generic reader. While unrelated to this issue, I would also personally do what I have told the person in the below post to do regarding a bluetooth OBD2 and Torque app, and also DPF Free as you can look for boost values and also DPF loading. This would allow you to provide some genuine information to allow people to comment on.
  6. OK, this is annoying. 300 miles in, the 1.0 TSI is making a faint high pitched beep occasionally on the move. My ears are screwed, so I can't hear it, but my wife can. It comes from the dashboard area, but there are no warning lights. Anyone else heard this?

  8. I've taken a few pics of my car(s). All taken with a Canon EOS 1300D with the included 18-55mm lens.
  9. Yep it's apparently available right now but you need to book in for Skoda to do the update, it's not an over the air one.
  10. no rattles or squeaks, but I already fully soundproofed the doors, the luggage compartnent, the bonnet and the wheel arches. without this Superb is definitely one of the louder cars in segment
  11. We do see some but not many, very easy to do, new oil and 2 plugs, 1x drain and 1x fill plugs
  12. so true however, for me my car is the place I enjoy my music as loud as I want without disturbing the neighbours, and this with highest possible quality. this is why I currently invest a lot into a new 8 channel DSP and amp and upgrade the Canton to a much higher level.
  13. When we do a Haldex service we don’t just change the oil we also remove the pump and wash the gauze off and clean the pump housing out, we then flush the unit out with a little Haldex oil before putting the pump back in and refilling the system, to be honest it’s false economy just doing the oil, it’s amazing just how much crud there is when the pump is removed, Pointless just changing the oil without cleaning the gauze and housing because if the gauze gets too blocked it could burn the pump out eventually.
  14. The act engines filter is on the front of the block which you access from the underside, (steel canister type), Skoda has the 2.0 tsi engines (Octavia and superb etc) filter is on the top which is a paper element type, so the original question was regarding a 1.4 act engine which would need doing from underneath, incidentally I do work at a main dealer and we don’t use extraction systems as we go underneath every car to do a health check so it’s a waste of time not doing it by draining it properly and also changing the filter whilst your there
  15. Hi All, I have an iV vRS with this issue. I have found a temporary fix but it will eventually set itself back so you have to apply the fix again. I’ve found the ACC is linked to the headlight setting (which is also buggy). 1. go into the headlamp direction setting. 2. Note it probably says “driving on the right” 3. Click “driving on the right” 4. Display will now say headlights set for right 5. Click “driving on the left” 6. Fin this will last for anything up to several hundred miles. I believe its all linked to the sat nav which also has faults. When it faults it buggers up the rest of the system. hope this helps Gaz

I had info for may 2022 but still nothing, i think they lost my order. A fact is they deliver the new Karoq's very quick and get moved up the line before any other model.
  17. People will not realise until they have sat in a good SQ car and then have something to reference against. It is not their fault as they do not know and more importantly probably do not care. But the day they hear it with some music they enjoy they will be blown away and realise it is not just about loud volume and bass.
  18. I think I removed the battery box and an air intake pipe. However, my car is just a 1.4 mpi and the engine bay is not as crammed as some models. I got the stainless jubilee clips in Halfords.
  19. Hello John As I said on the phone I am sorry you have a running problem with your car and that it got worse after we had re-entered the injector codes as part of the diagnostic During diagnosis we scanned the fault codes there was an old code for fuel pressure, this cleared and did not return even after a road test. As we have seen unstable idle faults before often due to injector coding having been 'lost" by the Engine Control Unit ECU we then re-introduced the codes physically written on injectors (which were the same as the codes previously stored in the ECU) back into the ECU via the computer, after doing this the idle was stable. However during road test it appears that a more pronounced diesel knock became apparent. We then advised you that the fault was almost certainly with the injectors. As genuine Skoda Injectors are over £500 each we would need to send the injectors away to be tested and if necessary. I can appreciate that your car appears to have got worse after we worked on it, however there is nothing we physically did to cause this and my view is still that the defect was potentially there already. I have already offered as part of our complaint procedure to investigate further without additional charge, this in line with the Bosch code of conduct as approved by Trading Standards. Yours Tim B.
  20. If a 1.6 TDI it is a Euro 5 & a Mk2 Fabia. Regardless of what a V5 says. Likely had the VW Emission fix, so the Engine Management software update and the flow device in the Air Intake. https://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions
  21. That was what was in my mind, yeah 👍

Sorry - 486 a "bit" too advanced for me. But my suggestion, ask one of the "big" memory firms( e.g. Crucial) for help. Or an alternative is a car boot/market. One thing I've been told at this sort of place in days of old was that the type was important and that faster speeds would still work, but the speed of the slowest chip. Another place to look for help is "vintage" forums, where they have folks with older computers etc.
  23. Essentially yes. I know it's a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things, but disabling start stop and selecting 'individual' EVERY time the car is started does get annoying, especially when the menus are feeling a bit sleepy. First world problems 😂
  24. I’ve got a hr fitted to my superb sportline 272 4x4 estate, which is listed for the golf R, I got it from AKS Tuning, no fitment issues whatsoever and it does make a difference.
  25. Oil extractors are a waste of time as you cannot guarantee getting all the oil out of the sump, you’ve got to take the under tray off so just buy a sump bung and do it properly
  26. Wasn’t one of the last mk1’s registered in 2009, therefore making this mk2? as it’s a 2010? Better still, post a pic of the car
  27. You won't get them to admit fault, just ask them to put it back the way it was using the original injector adaptation values.
  28. They physically have it, yes, but version A only has the stripes, which is wat u see from the outside, but not the hardware (light optics) to make them light up.
  29. Not quite correct. It will only ever show "Dynamic Light Assist" in the infotainment, if u have HBA enabled, or have SLA headlights, but u won't b able to distinguish between version A and B headlights with this. if u don't have HBA enabled and version A headlights - it will show "Light Assist". if u have HBA enabled and version A headlights - it will change to "Dynamic Light Assist" version B will already show "Dynamic Light Assist".
  30. My 18 Passat can stay in the mode you want. So not completely year dependent.
  31. Short answer, no. I lived with this problem for quite a few years and even had the airbag replaced which included a new connector. Finally got fed up and did the cut and solder, solved it, no problems for the last few years. Seems a few other car brands had the same problem besides VAG.
  32. I noticed in your picture that the battery technology is incorrect. It comes from the factory preset as " fleece " for an agm battery and I've read elsewhere that fleece should be the correct setting. I'm not sure what the difference is between fleece and binary-AGM and I don't know if that gives any cause to your issues but I've read in many forums that fleece is the VW term for standard agm batteries in european cars. I would definitely physically check the serial number on the battery itself to see if it matches your picture just in case your old battery was a Varta and the new battery hasn't been programmed properly.
  33. You know the advertising boards you get hanging from the ceiling in shops? You'll never guess what we call the hooks that clip/stick onto ceiling.😀
  34. If the oil filter is low down and have to remove the plastics, then you might as well just undo the sump plug and buy a new one to be honest
  35. A few from Brands Hatch this morning.
  36. So I am booked in for the often fabled March software update next week. Hopefully, the problems I have had, and others will be sorted.
  37. A few more from this evening (including White, Pink and Bluebells)
  38. In true 'Circle of Life' fashion we came across these just around the corner from the poor Swan VID_20220428_184748.mp4
  39. Edit - this is one by my wee brother when I sent him outside with the Sony Mavica because he said he was bored.
  40. Good, the job obviously wasn't done right...
  41. A few newly hatched ducklings 00025.mp4
  42. Hi Mate have they put in the correct injector codes when they were recoding it and have you put in brand new injectors or second hand the injector you have put in might be faulty
  43. I was overtaken by this stunner earlier - sounded like thunder!! Front Cam.mp4 Rear cam.mp4
  44. I think you mean "having Lane Enforce inflicted on me".
  45. Rocker cover gasket is probably leaking unless it's already been replaced so check that. Again, unless it's already been replaced, dip stick and tube as the plastic goes brittle, crumbles and all that generally ends up in the sump. Strainer can be cleaned out rather than replaced but it's your call.
  46. It is meant to work to help keep you in lane, but as other manufacturers can do that without a violent jerk then no it is not the way it is meant to work. People reviewing the new VW ID.3 are complaining and telling how it takes 3 buttons to turn it off with them. My Corsa has Lane Assist and one press of a button puts it off without an extended push, i leave it on as it is damn good even on narrow back roads. 'It is a momentary push with a PSA vehicle.' See what he says. @ 3 minutes. VW will need to address the Active Lane Assist.
  47. Wondering if it can be turned off via OBD software like Carista or OBD11? Not got mine yet so can't try it.
  48. Yeah it's a good point...maybe didn't express myself well. I agree that safety features are a great innovation and outweigh any minor irritation however my situation with the front radar assist should never occur and suggests the system isn't set correctly
  49. I have only done about 500 miles in my new Kamiq and although in general I like the car I find the supposed safety systems range from annoying to downright dangerous. I consider the lane assist an irritant and switch it off on every journey however this morning I experienced a scary and dangerous incident involving the collision avoidance/ frontal assist. Iwas travelling in a30 mph zone in our small town and the road was reasonably quiet when I saw a car approximately sixty yards in front of me onto our road. No problem the driver had plenty of time to make the manoeuvre and I was doing less than 30. However almost instantaneously a car drew up to a give way from a side road immediately to my near side and stopped in accordance with the give way markings. The emergency braking system in my car activated and more or less brought my car to an emergency stop. If anyone was on my tail it would almost certainly have resulted in a collision. I was so surprised at what had occurred it took me a while to fathom that it must have activated due to to the car pulling up to to the give way junction on my near side. I would stress that the other driver complied with the give way, came to a halt and did nothing wrong. Anyway I'm losing a bit of confidence in the car due to the supposed safety systems
