Alcar 9021 are 17" Kodiaq MK1 steel rims, ie. 6.5Jx17 ET38 5/112 57.1 so use the standard wheel bolts with OEM part number WHT001812. All good. Did steering wheel alignment, cleared faults with Carista. Happy enough. Luckily enough the wheel was from left hand drive, so the steering wheel is like new on the right hand 👌 Did make one mistake, when I was pulling off the steering wheel I missed the red plug ... Pulled off the cover for the slip ring. Extremely lucky there was no damage. All back together in one piece with nothing broken.

Check fuse 11, and message me if that is OK. I can potentially lend you a known good driver's side motor (which is the master of both). If that fixes everything you could buy it from me.

Maybe less expensive to go to an Auto electrician that can sort the issue without a song and dance and a diagnostic charge just the cost to repair fault.

Try https://www.lllparts.co.uk/ Go to original manufacturers diagrams and put in your vin. It should give you the oem part numbers for your car. You may have to look up PR codes on sticker in boot to confirm correct ones. Alasdair

After a day out my dash gave me the farewell message on length of trip, time driving , ave speed and the massive shocker of ave MPG of only 27, this is not a figure I want to see, it goes to show that getting caught up in rush hour traffic and crawling almost 3/4 mile up hill in bottom gear with plenty of clutch slipping, here my old diesel would have excelled with its strong pulling power at idling speed, then facing similar down to major road works only letting 4 cars through before changing again, motoring used to be such pleasure

Had this recently on mine, turns out the headlights have water in them and where the ballast is located (directly under the headlight) means that it just drips directly into the ballast. I recently changed my ballast a few weeks ago, and it failed within 2 days. I took the headlight back out and low and behold the ballast was full of water again! I allowed the headlight to fully dry and blasted it out with compressed air and a fan to get it all out. Dried the ballast too and unbelievably it came back to life after a few days and touch wood its been spot on since. Do you have all the headlight cover caps on the back of the units? I think there are 3 per headlight on the pre-facelift.

Without all this, the 2kg FE fits right, and does not foul the seat moving forward, even at its minimum height - mine is electric, if manual I do not know where the lever is located, it might bother. So I am going to play making a contraption using the rivnut and the studs to fix the holder that came with the FE, and if it goes well, that will be my Fire Protection arrangement for any upcoming trip to Hellas ... 😜

Tricky ... on the left side Ihave the Canton sub, so not much space, except for gloves, folded shopping bags, and a rain-windbreaker. On the right side the 1st aid kit, a bottle of water and one sprayer with 50/50 solution water/degreaser to clean the windshield from dirt and dead fauna when I travel ... I am always an attraction whenever I stop and pull out all this crap and clean the screen 😄 I will try to fit the FE there and see how it goes, but remember the rules state "it must be quickly accessible" so depending on how picky is the patrol stopping you, might be a tough sale to show that immediately you will react to get out of the car, open the electric boot - that might want not to work in that moment 🙃- and get to the pocket that must be free from the ton of luggage you are carrying 🤪 Nevertheless, I did try to compare the space and the two FEs, 1kg and 2kg:

Coincidentally, i had to swap out the rectifier on the Fabia 2 weekends ago. 13.1V output with all accesoires turned on. Replaced then original one with a scrapyard one (snapped off connector) and ordered a new rectifier so it's a cheaper long term solution instead of buying a new one. Hope you get the Roomster running under it's own power again.

Was that battery voltage on the car or off? If it's that low off the car it's faulty. That low on the car suggests some drain that needs investigating. Regarding VCDS, if you're planning on keeping the car (or at least staying with VAG cars) for more than a couple of years it works out cheaper than the OBD11 annual subscription. Seems like a good investment if you're going to be mostly DIY.

Ditto but mines Black so it shows everything. We had two rounds of Sahara sand in the last few weeks. All but gone now after some rain so just road grime & other debris to sort. After washing & paint correction in the next few days I'm going to attempt some Graphene protection. Failing that I might treat the old girl to a paid detail clean & ceramic coating to make keeping her clean at home easier.

In my honest opinion for coding I would bite the bullet and get full proper VCDS ( no cheap copy virus china edition ) and just determine how many license you need for it. I think OBD11 is alienating people with its insistence of yearly annual which isn't exactly low, if you can imagine needing for a few years I think it may pay for itself in hobby coding - or pro if you start helping others Its a different platform with OBD pushing more to mobile BT users vs laptop/usb admittedly but VCDS was always the daddy.

Well I'm a week in and went for the goodyears. Everything feels a bit better. I got the tracking done on all 4 wheels too as they were all out. Much quieter though. Now I can hear all the wind noise from those panel gaps 😂

Welcome to the forum. Check that the lamps are the correct, matching wattage and double-check that all contacts for the lamp still indicating a fault are absolutely clean. To clarify, lamp monitoring systems normally use fairly tight current parameters - even a slightly increased resistance in the circuit may cause the monitoring system to flag a lamp failure - even though the affected lamp appears to be operating correctly.

Check some fuses (on battery-top fuseholder) before you go a step further. Strip fuse No.4 would be my favourite for having a crack in the middle of it, that might barely be visible until unbolted. Blade fuses 7 and 10 should also be checked

In response to a suggestion by @Oli3000 here's a list of the issues I have experienced with my early build (registers Sept 2020) Mk4 SE L First Edition estate. I have listed the ones that I am aware that others have also experienced, and I am aware that other early models had problems I haven't (mainly 'cos my car doesn't have some options/features). Many of these have been the subject of much debate in one of more threads of this forum, details will be found in there by using the search function. I have NOT included the Infotainment Reboot issue as it is common to later build cars too, albeit fixed with software updates. If you too have an early build SE L First Edition please add any recurrent/common SEL FE issues that I have missed. KPH/MPH Speedometer could not display KPH. Selection made in settings but no change to display and not saved. SatNav could not display miles. Selection made in settings but no change to display and not saved. Eventually a solution was developed, in my case a change of Virtual Cockpit (VC) hardware and software updates. To my knowledge not all cases need a VC change; the original in my car did not have a clock at top centre, the replacement does. The speedometer being unable to display KPH is in contravention of UK regulations. Adaptive Cruise Control In general worked OK, except it would intermittently, yet often, prevent overtaking in stead of undertaking. Basically the car thought it was in driving on the right side of the road, not left; it worked absolutely fine in mainland Europe. Fixed through software updates. Note however, that the Owner Manual warns of occasions when the ACC can be confused, I’ve noticed it several times on long right hand bends - the car sees a vehicle in the nearside lane and prevents overtaking. Easily overcome by a tap go the accelerator pedal. SOS errors and false calls Several issues around this; in my case I’d get a loud ‘pop pop’ sound followed by a corruption of any [built in] SatNav directions active at the time and an alert to say an SOS call was placed - when it wasn’t! After several diagnostics visits and software updates the SOS module was replaced and it’s been fine since. ‘Favourites’ Initially neither SatNav nor Radio favourites were saved. Fixed through software updates. Auto-reconnect CarPlay For many months CarPlay would not automatically reconnect to my iPhone. Fixed through one of the many software updates Škoda Connect App Early build Mk4 cars don’t have full functionality. Cannot create a route in the phone App and send it to the car Cannot remotely Lock & Unlock the car, but can see if it is locked and windows closed. Fuel & Temperature Gauges Flickering Intermittent flickering of both gauges regardless of whether headlights are on or not. Fixed through software update.

Sadly not just battery failure. Either alt, or alt freewheel pulley freewheeling both ways (is that possible?). Can't check the pulley for a few hours, at a family birthday in a different car. Not finding a replacement alt showing as collectable at either GSF or ECP within at least 25 mile radius. ☹️

Front suspension change was unremarkable really, did take a few pics I think which I may add later. Unfortunately right now I'm en route to Roomster breakdown. Somewhere in Norfolk, following a what3words address. Fortunately I had just finished an oil change on my sister's car, and we are under an hour away. VCDS and a few tools on board, but I'm not wildly optimistic of an easy fix. Reportedly a succession of warning lights came on, followed immediately by major power loss and luckily a safe spot to pull over into. Allegedly not even turning over now. 🥲
