  1. @b1ackb1rd - Ask your mapper about a DPFectomy.
  2. Which is odd, because TTs have octane engines, not citane engines, and therefore don't have pre-heat systems.
  3. The "missing" headrest obscures an annoying amount of the rear vision. 16" wheels were standard on the vRS estate, but the 17" off a hatch will bolt straight on; you won't even have to change the bolts. A good remap is available from several reputable tuners.
  4. If I just want to compare this sort of size, I use a hand.
  5. Also @M01MS - Gerry is correct.
  6. Yes, and about half the quoted Halfrauds price for the job as well.
  7. Because the main function of the back wheels on an FWD car is stopping the back bumper dragging on the ground. Practically no-one actually needs rear discs, but stylists think "they look better" (than drums).
  8. Go to a proper broker near you and/or research imported car insurance.
  9. What size? I changed the spare on one car to be the same tyre size as the road wheels, since it was on the same size rim.
  10. What is this nonsense about a "smart" charger? My 3A trickle charger has been around since the 1960s, and reduces charge rate when the battery gets to about 90% without azure dentition or an "app".
  11. My road atlas has never run out of charge...
  12. Does it match what's in the expansion tank, or what's in your kitchen tap?
  13. More usually called "saw-toothing" IME. Yes, Michelin are quality brand name tyres, but saw-toothing is an artefact on rear tyres caused by hard braking.
  14. Hint - The guy who does my car uses separate, and differently shaped and labelled, drain and recharge cylinders.
  15. Haven't had this on a Skoda myself, but yes it's a fairly common issue with hydraulic clutches across a range of makes.
  16. Are you sure? I thought the 5 speed box was only in the 130 series, and came with semi-trailing arm rear suspension rather than a swing axle.
  17. I know one bloke who uses his as a private hire car in Glasgow.
  18. You have a live short somewhere in the washer circuit. No, I can't tell you where because I don't have your car.
  19. @Sad555 - So, if Vercrashen had turned into Hamilton deliberately (He did; watch Lewis' onboard) but Lewis had crashed, there was no case to answer (based on relevant case law).
  20. Perhaps if you didn't make a statement that no-one else I know has ever made, I wouldn't question it.
  21. So, by your definition, the water system has a "reduced cooling system" since the radiator doesn't receive coolant until its thermostat opens.
  22. Are you sure? Even if you mean 2_000 miles and not "two million and forty eight thousand miles" as typed, that rim is probably corrosion on the unswept edge of the disc rather than wear.
  23. Yes and??? All "sport" mode does on this model is hold the gears longer.
  24. OK, how does that give you a "reduced oil circuit" without the engine seizing?
