  1. ISTR that, if you leave the car in gear and your foot on the clutch, that temporarily disables stop/start until you select neutral and release the clutch.
  2. 1 - No idea what this means, other than possible trouble. The airbag light is a latching fault light, which means you need to diagnose the actual fault, fix that, and then use something like VCDS or a dealership computer to clear the light. Also, without definite evidence that the fault is in a sidebag, I'd suspect the steering wheel bag or the clock spring. 2, 3, and 4 - These faults could well all be related, since the tyre pressure monitor and traction control both use data from the ABS sensors. I don't unreservedly trust cheap scanners to give real codes, but in this case I think it's pointed you to the correct corner of the car. 5 - Absolutely no idea! BTW, smearing windscreen wipers should be an MOT failure in themselves.
  3. With no history, just delete the fault. It may be an old fault that's already been fixed. The time to worry is if the fault recurs.

Tyre make and model is also a factor here. Start with the Skoda recommendations (or nearest size to 185/60), and in about 3_000 km, measure the tread depth, then adjust up 2 PSI if you have more edge wear than centre, or down 2 PSI if you have more centre wear than edge.
  5. Two million for typing "trolley bus" into your browser; I'm in the wrong job!
  6. Dunno - It is chemically R134a, although it doesn't say so.
  7. The "noise rating" of tyres is based on "drive by noise", not in car.

I see your point; I'm not sure how you actually get GPS time 20 years out to mess up its NTP sync, other than maybe frelling about with USB cables.
  9. Was it cleaned?
  10. KenONeill replied to Jim109's topic in Skoda Karoq
Why!!? The GPS signal is a time tick, so it should sync automatically. If it won't, I think it's a warranty issue.
  11. So you're happy for me to siphon half the diesel out of your Octy the night before you go off on holiday. That's exactly analogous; removing the fuel from your vehicle when it suits me.
  12. No intensity test, no.
  13. Well no, because aim and that the beams light are the only points in a UK MOT test.
  14. And this is the fault of those of us who use the site as designed, in a landscape mode, how and why?
  15. You need a specialist LHD insurer anyway, to avoid a considerable LHD loading.
  16. But but but that will use electricity and reduce range.
  17. Even with a calibrated lux meter, you won't get a meaningful result unless you've measured a new xenon luminaire in the same conditions. Plus the fault may be the resistivity of the wiring having increased, rather than the efficiency of the unit having decreased. Or the battery/alternator may be outputting slightly lower wattage.
  18. In a car with start/stop, that's effectively scrap.
  19. That sounds believable; just another reason for not fitting seat covers to cars with side bags.
  20. Normal practice is to drain and weigh the gas, to determine whether or not these is a significant leak other than normal loss through seals, before refilling with a known mass of R134A and special oil. It is illegal to sell containers of R134A to anyone except a trained technician. Odds on, you've got something as undesirable as propane in this "refill".
  21. The sidebags are in the seat backs, so why would they need connected through the door bellows?
  22. "XL" means "eXtra Load"; only really needed if you regularly do stuff like 4 up plus luggage plus trailer.
  23. Why would they? You don't need headlights just because it's raining, or wipers just because it's dark.
  24. Well, I've owned mine since before there even was a mk2.
  25. And the problem is? I mean, as long as you can keep up with the traffic short shifting like this.
