  1. I see what you mean, but the clutch assembly, timing chain and rear dampers should all be good for years to come (depending on your driving style). The SAS I can't help with, but the trail arms and droplinks should be good or warranty/sale of goods act replacements.
  2. Now guess why we call them "Skoda main stealers".
  3. See the ellipsis "..." characters top right of your post? They'll give you an edit option for a hour or 2.
  4. Almost certainly yes, but I don't actually know Australian consumer rights legislation.
  5. Tell us what phone it is. That may have a bearing on your issue.
  6. Engine bore wash, overheating, strain on a modern charge system that probably doesn't run the alternator at idle, risk of theft...
  7. That will be because a carburettor car has neither a MAP nor a MAF.
  8. That's very interesting; CANbus is a communications protocol, not a piece of hardware.
  9. Cheers; I'm acquiring an idea just how bad this was on Saturday.
  10. With multiple failures like this, it's always a good idea to test the battery properly before assuming anything electronic has failed.
  11. Which road? I saw Great Western Road (A82(T)) in Knightswood, almost every junction down Lincoln Avenue and Queen Victoria Drive to Dumbarton Road (A814), Dumbarton Road itself just West of Kilbowie Road, Kilbowie Road somewhere between Dumbarton Road and Montrose Street, and a couple of places on Argyll Road in Clydebank on Saturday, but once I'd got past those no further problems out to Dumbarton.
  12. Yeah, that was the idea. If the part's unavailable, how best to repair it. OT anecdote - I've seen a commercial vehicle fitter take a hacksaw to a pipe he did have, to make the one he actually needed.
  13. Try searching for "blanking plugs" since a grommet is an edging strip, not a plug.
  14. Remove the pipe, dry it out, and braze in some new metal in/over the crack.
  15. I'm sorry to say this, but I think it needs dealership grade tools.
  16. Agreed. That said, a rear wiper is almost superfluous on an Octavia 1 hatch, but not on an estate.
  17. No, but from experience with other Toyo models, you may want to up the pressures 2 PSI from Skoda recommendations.
  18. Frankly, I'd rather have an L&K plus 10 large in my pocket than a Chavvy A6.
  19. Of course, not illegal = best practice!
  20. Also @Cornish_Lad more like £15 for a cheapish multimeter? As long as it has a continuity test mode...
  21. I think you mean "OEM -"?
  22. I guess you didn't bother to read my profile before trying to start a fight? It says "TDi 110", which isn't a PD engine. Also, it's rejected heat that cooks a plastic water pump impeller, and that's always higher on a petrol engine than a diesel.
  23. Stop trying to use your phone whilst you're driving?
  24. Did you hear a pop or bang when it lost power? If so, I'd agree the diagnosis of a popped boost pipe.
  25. Not normal no, but legal if the wiper is either driver's side or a 150 degree arc conversion.
