  1. Not entirely, but it's my favourite price; free.
  2. And, as a safety engineer, I do the same thing, but try to assign probabilities to the failure modes.
  3. Er, 4.5 bar is more like 68PSI (relative figures) but that's still very low. I'd start by checking that you have tappet gaps.
  4. Well, that's why the ride is so hard...
  5. Based on your photos, you have a TSi, NOT a TFSi. Check your options sticker for the correct engine code.
  6. Oil level. ECU fuses (both in car and the battery fuses).
  7. And, in Wino's post, based on my understanding of the Octy AC, the smaller (left hand) fan (on the right of that shot from the front) has a separate live feed from the AC power, so is always on low when the AC is on, regardless of what the radiator thermoswitch and the large fan are doing.
  8. Ah right; If I needed a new one of those for a car, I'd make it out of a cereal box (brand/size unimportant as long as the biggest sides are bigger than the carb mounting flange.
  9. Ah, the mounting block isn't made of metal. Can you find an exploded view and indicate which part you're talking about?
  10. Yes; you may have to give it up to 1_000 miles depending on driving style.
  11. Good, quick, and half the labour rate of a main stealer, using genuine parts.
  12. Well, literally 15s in Google returned This is an issue with a sensor, not a casting.
  13. You could also try a lithium grease. That's what I use on my Octy.
  14. Also @Dogswards - This is where my sheet of glass comes in again. I attach a sheet of silicon carbide paper to it using double sided tape, which holds it dead flat, then sand the mounting block with a figure 8 motion.
  15. Agreed; that number of unrelated faults pretty much has to be battery and/or alternator related. Are auto electricians a thing in Israel?
  16. Yeah; Upthread I had in mind how an Octy hatch can carry 2 suitcases lying flat, but an estate can carry 4 sitting on their feet.
  17. No, the ABS fault would not cause a flat battery, but a flattening battery can manifest itself as an ABS fault (personal experience with a sticky alternator clutch).
  18. On an Octy, when you turn the air con on (or have Climatronic in Auto or demist mode)
  19. Ah, I'm not sure what that's called, but it's usually adjustable.
  20. Yeah, that's right if you can't fit your vehicle into the central reservation.
  21. Yes, I realised that. My point was about how much faster, cheaper and more accurately Wheelbase diagnosed and repaired your fault.
  22. When did you start insuring cars in Australia?
  23. !? That's normally a manual release lever for the safety catch.
  24. That seems reasonable; I've not tried with a Superb, but an Octavia estate can carry much more "tall stuff" than a hatch, with the seats up.
  25. No problem, but @RicardoM and I would both rather you clicked the grey icon bottom right on one of our posts and made it go blue.
