  1. Yes, more so with the rear fog light(s) because of the number of people who "mistake" rear fog lights for brake lights or vice versa.
  2. That may be a separate issue, but your photo is showing a typical normal running temperature. If you don't get that then there's something else wrong. Does the heater work, and does the radiator get hot?
  3. I didn't say it did "only take a minute". I said that the warm-up is shortest if you start the engine and drive off.
  4. This is why you should start a dual fuel engine on on petrol, then switch to LPG after the engine starts to warm.
  5. Ok, does the engine turn over, or just the starter motor?
  6. Which isn't until 20 Apr 2022! I suggest you contact the dealership and ask for a copy of the car's service record.
  7. Correct. If you doubt my logic, then, in moderate weather, do these things:- Start the engine, drive off, and keep a note of how long the engine takes to reach normal operating temperature. Start the engine and leave idling until it reaches normal operating temperature. See how much faster (1) was?
  8. The best way to warm an engine is to drive the car. Idling slows warm-up, and potentially washes the bores with petrol.
  9. Well, IME old plugs don't run as well as new ones. Ever.
  10. If you're answering the question I asked "What mileage have the current spark plugs done?" then I'm surprised you didn't get this issue years ago.
  11. And what sort of mileage? We're chasing an emissions fault, which is most likely airflow, lambda, sparks or dribbly injectors. So I'm working the issue from ease of checking first.
  12. Checks - When were air filter and oil filter last changed? When were spark plugs and oil last changed? If they're all good, check fault codes, and suspect a lambda sensor fault.
  13. It's been discussed on other sub-fora. Use the Search.
  14. That I've seen done before.
  15. I don't think this can be done; in most nations the brightness of (new) number plate lights is set by law.
  16. 's'ok; I've got the idea it actually is a glass polish, so I'm not surprised you have judder issues.
  17. @roottoot So you didn't bother to follow the conversation further back; just saw an apparent criticism of EVs and reacted.
  18. !? Do you mean a screen wax like, say, Rain-X? (other brands are available) I was always told to keep body wax (and car shampoo) off the windscreen exactly because they cause wiper judder.
  19. You have realised that I am responding to @cheezemonkhai 's reported account of a test drive? And that you've just claimed that overinflated tyres make the ride softer?
  20. It's usually called an "anti-diesel valve".
  21. See, I'm thinking that the need to do emergency braking is an inverse function of engine and road noise levels, so will happen more in EVs. And, in an emergency is when your muscle memory (developed in IC cars) will take over.
  22. Which is just wrong! More so when the places I've usually had to brake hardest are 40mph and 50mph urban roads!
  23. Good enough for now then. Before next year's MoT, maybe on a dry day in September? give it a good ragging for maybe 10 minutes on a road where you'll spend a lot of time accelerating or braking, then let it idle for a minute before switching off.
  24. Absolutely not; it's quite capable of telling you to change up just as you're about to start climbing a steep(er) hill. When accelerating keep up with the traffic: when cruising use the highest gear you can without the engine lugging audibly.
