  1. You clearly don't have mates who drive taxis.
  2. Site rules prevent me from saying anything more but DRM removal software is available (and some professional authors sanction its use on any of their works that have DRM applied).
  3. Does it seem to be spinning slower when cold?
  4. A catch can is a replacement for parts of a positive crankcase ventilation system. You won't increase the crankcase (or cam cover) back pressure by using one.
  5. In which case you should realise that you need either a wind tunnel model or a Computational Fluid Dynamics model of the car you want to modify. It is particularly important to get the ground clearance correct, and indeed the rake of the car correct.
  6. Why would you want to? They normally sound a few times and then stop anyway.
  7. Yes. From what you say, think about a solar powered charger rather than a mains unit.
  8. Noted as a cheap, fast and at worst does no harm check for an emissions light.
  9. Cheers; will pass this on to my sister who's on holiday up there later in the month.
  10. No. but it's not uncommon for the handbrake pads to rust to the discs if you leave the car over a weekend, and release with a bang on Monday morning as you drive off.
  11. Throttle pot is dying; Eventually it will go into limp mode, and the part will need replaced.
  12. That's just silly. There should be fault codes if the light is on, and reading those takes maybe an hour.
  13. I've no doubt that you can, but short of dealership computer data or the original software I'll be hard to convince...
  14. sitting in the back, and with Morgan Freeman as your chauffeur!?
  15. I see your point, but the info is in official Skoda owner's manuals and does require access to the vehicle keys.
  16. @Blairyc - Never seen that before without mayonnaise (name used advisedly since the white stuff is an oil and water emulsion). I still suspect head gasket failure, but in the last 160km or so!
  17. So you have at least one logged engine fault. Find out what that is before throwing money at the car.
  18. There I would disagree. This is a classic over-inflation wear pattern.
  19. Yes, unless it genuinely feeds the engine cold air.
  20. Sort of; it's more that they get "quietly noisy" when an oil change is due.
  21. Is the tyre wear even across the tread width?
  22. Use the Search facilities, with a search string of "E10".
  23. If your speed is down at walking pace as implied upthead, volume per unit mileage is meaningless; much better to quote litres per hour.
  24. Depends on plate and vehicle:- RHU 999 (or 999 RHU). Terminally sad all year long. It's not clever to live in a village with a 3 character name. JAG 5 - Seen on Mercedes parked at Firhill. Good laugh. RFC 999 - OK, if you're a player and want to advertise the fact. Sad if you're just a fan. JOB 81E - Seen on vac truck, so good laugh. Attempt to get "his and her" initials out of something like "JR51 ELR" Terminally sad all decade long.
  25. Yeah, I'd suspect an issue with the catalytic converter, but all I know is "emissions light on". Which means there are (or should be) one or more fault codes.
