Are all standard VAG stereos this bad?
All systems ideally should have a bias towards the front to retain the stereo image. I have the Canton system in my car and the rears do very little work. If you look at ICE installs of old (max power days) most did away with the rear speakers and just had two upfront and a sub speaker in the boot. I find car systems are hit and miss. I had a 2012 Focus Titanium with the Sony upgrade pack. Sounded fantastic and that was without a sub. Then got a new 2015 Focus ST3 with the Sony pack and sub. Sounded awful.

Where are all the used vRS 245s?
Car values are going down massively at the moment. It is a buyers market but not a sellers.

Octavia VRS TDI Front Brake Pad Size

Obd11
You can do the same coding on obdeleven as you can on vcds. Just make sure you save a backup before doing any alterations.

Heated Drivers seat mat burnt out
They were but what cannot be proven is that they may have been failing/faulting at the time of purchase. The CRA 2015 was made to give more power to the buyer rather than business. With the old act it was in favour of business as the buyer had to prove the fault. Basically now anything you buy should be fit for purpose and the expectation is that it will last 6 months from the date of purchase.

Heated Drivers seat mat burnt out
The law is the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Any used car is covered for 6 months despite what any garage says or warranty. I had all my glow plugs changed after 5 months of ownership under that act. The garages know it very well but hope the customer doesn't to avoid repairing the car. Also had a heated windscreen go faulty within the 6 months on another car and had that changed under the CRA 2015. A car must be fit for purpose for 6 months from the date of purchase. If the garage faila to repair the car you can take then to court over it. It is a very simple process. I also work in the legal world so know it very well. Says more here and saves my fingers typing https://www.theaa.com/car-buying/legal-rights

Heated Drivers seat mat burnt out
You are covered under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015. A car should expect to be fit for purpose for 6 months from the point of sale. It is law and the dealer has to be given one chance to repair it. Equally as stated above it is an electrical item amd not trim so it should get fixed either way. Speak with the service manager and see what he/she says. If they still say it is a trim. Ask where they got that information from and show you evidence of it. Else speak with the dealer principal and see what he/she says about it. Most are really good when you mention the CRA 2015. I have in the past and never had an issue.

Are MPG calculations on computer accurate?
Your figures are about right. You only really get above 30mpg on longer motorway runs. I wouldnt worry about the mpgs and enjoy the car.

Upgrade Advice
@SashaGrace is the best person to ask, as most add ons will need to be coded and/or new modules fitting to make it work. That can get expensive.

Revs issue at idle.
It might be worth asking the Skoda garage to update all of the modules and see if that helps.

Xenon headlights - adaptive aim sticking
Mine does exactly the same and is perfectly normal operation. I can visibly see the offside light move back to a forward position when I have stopped. It is how it is designed. If you want the module updated, I would find a good independent garage who has access to the odin. A main dealer will sting you for an undate. However if no faults have flagged your lights are working fine. The sensors that check the lights are very sensitive and if the lights were not working, it would flag up a fault, no matter how out of align they were.

Dash cam recommendations for those with DAB
I use the Nextbase 522gw and have the rear module fitted instead of a rear camera. Works perfectly and never had any issues with the DAB signal.

Suspension dilemma - H&R vs Eibach vs OEM
My car is standard as the day it left the factory. People say it pitches and rolls but I can quite happily make progress on twisty B roads without any issues...and its a nose heavy diesel VRS. I am advanced driver and do balance the car through corners by usinggentle acceleration. Never had any issues with the cars handling as standard. I had thought of lowering the car on Eibachs like my old mk2 but with the amount of speed humps around I am happy for the extra ground clearance. Plus car park ramps etc are no issue. I dont think as standard the car sits too high either. Cars need suspension travel to assist with comfort but also to generate the grip. Look how much BTCC cars move around when warming up. I see too many cars with suspension too firm and it makes them jittery to drive and handle worse. Plus making them slower on the road when you have high speed humps. The good thing is that you have plenty of time to decide what you want to do👍

Premature Clutch Wear
If you have owned the car for only 8 weeks then you are covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. The expectation is that a car should be fit for purpose for at least 6 months. I would phone the dealer where you purchased from, explain what has gone on and how they are going to rectify it. Also quote the Consumer Rights Act if you get no where as it is law and they cannot dodge their liability to repair it. Dont let the garage you have taken it to do any work on the car else you will invalidate any claim you can make against the dealer you purchased it off.

Vrs Exhaust heat shields
I still personally prefer the single side with twin tail pipes like on my old MK2 VRS look. Miss that car and exhaust

SKODA OCTAVIA
I had this and no matter what I did it didnt work. Turned out to be the window switch itself for me.

Steering rack failure on 2016 VRS 230
Have they shown you a printout of the fault code/diagnosis? I would be asking to see how they came to that conclusion before authorising any work.

Either Pagid, Brembo or Skoda. I have always got mine from TPS.

Unless the damper is broken I wouldn't change it just yet.

Changing mileage on my PCH
Used car prices are coming dowm massively now. An example is the mk3 Focus RS. At one time you couldn't buy one for less than 34k used. Now they are dropping to 25k on the used market. The Octavia will never hold its value and companies will be adjusting their predicted prices to suit.

Vrs Exhaust heat shields
You may get them cheaper from TPS as they usually discount most parts. Are you planning on making the rear tailpipes visible?

Sticking brakes when using handbrake
Sounds like the sliding pins need greasing

*HELP* Octavia 4x4 Whirring / Rotational / Odd Noise!
Did you buy it from a garage? If so I would make them aware of the issue. Sometimes service history is updated on line, so you would have to contact Skoda to see what has been recorded. I would also speak with a specialist for a second opinion. If it is major then you can reject the car within the first 28 days so it is important to act quickly.
