Cambelt due for changing, but low mileage
More than just the belt that needs changing. I would always change it along with all the pulleys, tensioners and water pump. The belt m3igjt last another 60,000 miles but if a tensioner goes it is bye bye engine. Most decent indy garages will do it for under £400 using genuine parts. But mainly for peace of mind and also future saleability of the cars value.

Idiots guide to coding for new battery in VCDS.
As long as the serial number is different then that will be fine 👍

Idiots guide to coding for new battery in VCDS.
The correct coding type for AGM batteries is "fleece" and not "binary AGM", as that is a different type of battery altogether. Pretty much the manufacturer coding does not matter. But as long as the serial number is changed by 1 digit and the battery has the correct AH rating plus it coding as fleece you will be fine.

Start stop errors
It could be a lot of things. As said above you are best getting the car scanned or buy your own such as OBDELEVEN. I have that and it has paid for itself with some issues I had that would have needed a garage. Rough idle can be a broken PCV, certainly they were an issue on my mk2. But a simple one to check is the oil dipstick out, as that can cause rough idle and poor engine running.

Octavia 3 4x4 2.0TDI 150hp 2016 Brake Disc Size
You can upgrade to a larger disc but I ask do you need the extra stopping power for occasional track use or aesthetics. I would simply fit discs and pads that fit your car. Change the brake fluid if it already has not already. I personally would look at either Skoda pads/discs or Pagid. Enjoy your new car 👍

Airbox Screws
A bit of rust won't hurt them. I would simply clean off the rust and use a bit of black paint on them.

I’ve only gone and done it!
Generally when driving you wont notice a passive regeneration. You will only know it is doing an active one if the car idles at 1000rpm for any length of time. You may also smell a hot burnt rubber smell aswell.

Subwoofer location in Estate -- thoughts?
The bass a sub speaker will put out is omni directional so direction and placement is not vital. The best place for a speaker of that size is in the boot in a proper box. You need to check if the speaker needs a sealed or vented box. Usually vented give extra bass at the cost of depth. I prefer sealed boxes as they give tighter bass. You shouldn't hear a correctly set up sub speaker as it should underpin the sound and not dominate it. Like teenagers from the 90s and the max power era.

I'm done with Skoda
As said above. In the UK you are covered under the Consumer Rights Act of of 2015 for 6 months from the date of purchase. Any fault within that period the garage is liable for. I would contact them either by writing or email, state the fault and what action you would like. In the email/letter state the Consumer Rights Act of 2015 and specifically the part that applies to them. Send the lettet recorded delivery and if an email, request then to confirm receipt of the email. If you have records they cannot dispute what has been said. Also ask that any response is written down. Even if they phone you. Ask them to put it in writing as it will show you mean business and put them on the back foot. They legally have to repair it no matter what warranty period they offer as it is law. If they don't play ball simply say you will take them court. You would win as they have to prove the fauly was not there when youpurchased the vehicle, which they cannot. Dont be afraid to battle them as I have had to with 2 dealers and won both times.

Mk4 Octavia VRS vs Mk8 Golf GTI
I would always go with the Octavia. Personally I prefer how the car looks. My personal favourite model is the mk2 pfl VRS. For me the Octavia is more practical for a day to day family car with my 2 year old daughter.

About to buy an Octavia MK3 1.6 TDI DSG.
This can be reveresed if you go to a reputable VAG specialist or plan on having the car mapped at any point. There have been mixed reviews of the update, some report no change in performance, others say it has reduced performance and economy. It is a tough one but it wouldn't put me off from buying.

Are those xenon or not?
Never knew that Skoda sold halogens with washers. Learn something new everyday.
-
Are those xenon or not?
They are xenon as they have the headlight washers fitted.

What diagnostic tool would you recommend
I use Obdeleven as VCDS is a bit pricey for my tastes. So far it has worked faultlessly and you can see all the control units and live data etc. Coding and basic settings/adaptions are easy aswell. Plus I liked I could do it all from my phone. So I can leave the dongle in the glovebox incase I have any issues away from home.

High fuel consumption after servicing.
Similarly old tyres will have lower rotational grip than new tyres. New tyres will give more resistance but also depending on what tyres you fitted will depend on how much extra. Usually A rated tyres will give better economy and G rated tyres the worst. What tyres did you fit and what tyres came off?

New Superb 4x4 - factory software problem?
The Superb doesnt have the off road mode unless it is the Scout. What sort of terrain do you go over?

25 mm Spacers on 19’ wheels
Personally I wouldnt use spacers on any car I own. I would always be worried about the increased pressure on the hub and bearing. I have had a few friends have issues with spacers and bearings. However you will get slightly better handling with a wider track. However none that you would actually be able to notice on the road. I personally dont feel the wheels are too bad as standard. They sit inside the wheel arch to help with aerodynamics.
-
High fuel consumption after servicing.
I think you have found your answer. Tyres will affect economy as they all have different grip levels.
-
High fuel consumption after servicing.
Not worse. As filters become blocked your ecu will adjust the parameters to suit. However performance will drop and yes economy may increase slightly because the engine isnt running at full power. MPGs can be affected by air temperature, air pressure, tyre pressure, trye brand, wheels out of alignment, type of oil used in the engine, spark plugs incorrectly gapped or torqued, gearbox oil pressure, fuel quality, type of driving, road surface, road surface temperature etc. There are so many variables as to why the mpgs have gone down and up I have never worried about it or got hung up over it. Unless the car is running badly .i.e misfiring or being generally sluggish I wouldnt worry too much about decreased economy.

Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0TDI (CUPA EA288) high oil consumption
When you convert it the engine will use 0.8 of a pint to every 621 miles. Plus that will increase doing short runs because of the extra regens. I know always carry spare oil in the boot just in case.
-
Octavia VRS (diesel) high oil usage issue
On average the books says it will use 0.5l of oil in 1000km. Or 0.8 of a pint to every 621 miles. Also if you do lots of short runs it will use more oil as the car will regen alot more and oil is burnt up during the regen phase.

Delay, DSG.
As above. What car do you have and what gearbox is fitted? I ask that as there maybe a software update for it. Dependant on what gearbox version you I would check the DSG service history. If it is serviceable and has not been serviced then I would get it booked in. If it has been serviced within the schedules perhaps it needs a fresh adaption.
-
High fuel consumption after servicing.
It might be because the air filter previously fitted was clogged up. Now it is breathing more freely it will use more fuel to compensate the extra air going in.

Repacing battery, Coding, Nottingham and thoughts on OBDeleven
The manufacturer of the battery does not matter. You need to make sure it is coded as fleece for AGM batteries, that it is set at the correct amps for the battery spec and just alter the serial number by one digit to tell the ecu a new battery has been installed.
