  1. Hopefully you'll get more helpfull answers than the one above.
  2. This was mentioned in another thread not so long ago. The water needs to be at operating temperature so the thermostats are fully open. You certainly don't need to take out the pump. What engine do you have?
  3. Have you tried turning the a/c and heating off with the off button?
  4. Why are vcd's involved please. Do you have to code in new brake components?
  5. Have the basic settings been done since the repair as per langers2k post?
  6. No. I confirm that makes a bong or chiming sound.
  7. As you're told which one has failed, then just replacing the faulty one makes sense to me. If you were getting a garage to do it, then having all 4 done at once would make more sense as there would be a minimum charge each time you went just to replace one glow plug.
  8. If you look at the link in my post earlier today, it mentions doing basic settings with vcd's or similar and then adjusting the headlights with the adjusters on the headlight housing. Even if you can't see the sensors (if they exist) for whatever reason, the wiring should be visible.
  9. The one with the sensor must still operate as a glow plug as well, otherwise you'd get misfiring from that cylinder when starting from cold.
  10. I get the whine for a second or so, but not the clicks.
  11. Sounds like a faulty glowplug, nothing serious. I don't see the problem in leaving it until you get it to the garage in the summer. I believe it will fail the MOT if the light is on.
  12. Does it cough when starting from cold or when it's at normal running temperature?
  13. This video is for the Golf, but maybe relevant. Shows the rear washer.

  15. Don't know if you've used the search facility, there are quite a few threads on this subject.
  16. Are these instructions different from the one's you have? 5E5-061-109-MN-0142-1.pdf
