  1. It would be wise to post in the MK2 section if that is what you have. 👍🏻 10 points for bumping a 10 year old topic. 🤣
  2. It could be seals, door cards, window strips or all 3. Here’s a recent topic about it all.
  3. I’ll keep a look out for you. Sometimes they come on the Elegance models (without xenons). Does it matter what colour?
  4. If it was me, I’d probably nip down the local scrapyards and see if I can take any off the cars that share the same engine.
  5. I’ve ran both and find the 225/45 more planted to the road. And to be honest I’ve only ever bought 225/45. The 205/50’s have usually what come with the car when purchased. I also think they look better than the taller tyre. And yes, they will be cheaper as it’s a much more common size. Often you can find a set of RS5 or EagleF1 or Falken F510 (x4) for under £240.
  6. I believe @skinnyman has just does to his as he was in the same boat. So he might have some wisdom on the matter.
  7. 1) I haven’t seen any and it’s been an excuse to add a catch can. However, my outlook is that it was designed for a reason. 2) It can when you see how the pipe work routes. A little harder with the engine but when it’s out it makes sense. Bowders guide does include a drawing of the PCV system which helps. 3) Most have it coded out at the time of the map and have the deletes done before this.
  8. 21 and 19 are the sizes for blades.
  9. @Funkoid 1U4 839 471 A window aperture seal left 1U4 839 472 A window aperture seal right
  10. Completely normal.
  11. I’ve got them at home somewhere, I post them tonight. As I’m planning to do all four of these plus the seals and door cards.
  12. Check the lever to make sure it's not bent out of place. If it happens again, you can probably wiggle the lever around and catch it on the release. Also, check your bolts to make sure everything is tight.
  13. Yeah, I was actually going over it last night.
  14. Not that I found. Any sort of paint is going to chip there I think, but at least this is a cheaper way of doing it.
  15. Be worth keeping, Craig did so much to that Banana Estate. You’ll only want another, maybe if you do have the space than sorn maybe a good idea. 👍🏻
  16. What you got now?
  17. As in their notes. The lighter requires more engine braking which is ideal for track use. If it’s your daily for the road I’d stick to the standard weight. I got the 10KG in mine. And, you really don’t need to go for a 6 speed conversion. There’s very little in it and our boxes have extremely long ratios. 6th gears just mean more changing. Don’t get me wrong, a lot have done it but I can’t see much benefit personally. Plenty of info on here about such conversions, use the search function or Google. 👍🏻
  18. How you getting on with the car?
  19. A warm welcome to the community! (and by community, I mean the MK1 of course ) Check out the projects threads as there are a few of us who keep a diary of the progress of our MK1's. My self currently have 2 VRS's and 1 L&K Estate, Skinny has his VRS, A1TopDog is currently restoring his ex Police car back to its former glory, niceyellow vrs, Sheb and Group1RS are the most active. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/207-octavia-projects/
  20. To me it is, as I’m always on the look out for them! And, I wish you still had it as I would’ve tried to purchase it off you. It seems your old one has probably been scraped now as it hasn’t been taxed or insured since 2012. But thanks for letting me know. Do you have any pictures that you could send via PM? I really want to top spec VRS Estate in Red to match my hatchback or even find one breaking or sparks/repairs so I can transfer it all over and retro fit it. Thanks for replying. 😁
  21. As above with my message, I would think the pump has died. The only way to really know is take it out. But depending on mileage, you may as well replace it.
  22. I'm amazed if the original clutch or not uprated even lasted Stage 2, even a Stage 1 with a Shark remap from Ben killed mine a few years back. Now I run a Darkside Billet G60/VR6 setup and Stage 2. Some details here:
  23. I'm not a mechanic but we have guides on here to help you do that at home. Always worth having a go, to save money. Best of luck with it all.
  24. Why are you spending £282 on a fuel pump when you can pick up an oem or uprated ones for £50? It might be worth going to your local garage (that you trust) to let them look over it.
