Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
Another burning vehicle, when you have lived in P1key central for mots of your life and also France for 19 Réveillons and quatorze Juillets one more burning vehicle becomes banal, I did get very excited by the frenzied spinning of the ornamental windmills though 🤣

Octavia VRS iV Airbag light
Buy a better fault code reader with the ability to communicate with the airbag control module and reset the latching airbag error code, VCDS will do it, others may advise on the cheapest alternative.

Convert RHD Citigo for EU use
Says a bloke on a forum 🤣 Headlights easy, rear fog light easy, RHD to LHD probably a very big can of worms, possible for someone with the skills and determination but unlikely to be worth the effort and expenditure. Vehicle registration requirements dont vary a lot between EU countries in the detail, RHD is still acceptable, a manufacturers European Certificate of Conformity will be required, you have covered headlights and rear fog light, speedo markings will need to be in kms but I think all UK market vehicles have both miles and kms. Taxes are not specifically for self imported cars, they will be the same taxes for registering a vehicle supplied to the domestic market, what can surprise people is paying what they believe to be a new car tax on a second hand vehicle, they are not, it is a tax on first registration (in that member state) and would not be payable for subsequent owners.

Car salesman wants my Date of Birth to "comply with FCA regulations "
BS "Trumps" 😁 everything else in the fight to the top of the tree. The real masters of the art convince themselves and are hence able to convince others. Some contributors think that I am a supporter of Trump, Musk etc, that is not so but I recognise and know the type(s) very very well having worked for several and having one as a close friend since my apprenticeship, nothing they say or do surprises me, working for them can be either hilarious if you see and understand what is going on or a nightmare if you don't. Despite their seeming incompetence these people create huge empires albeit on dodgy foundations and I do have a certain admiration for their success and mastery of their art. Politics is a breeze for them.

the truth about electric cars
That is a powerful argument!

Vehicle charging all over the place
That's how I read it too Pete, old battery going flat, new one fitted but no change to (correct) charging voltages.
-
Skoda Connect Services
Why does that make him an idiot, he had the customer in front of him and could probably make an educated guess whether he was the type that would willingly pay £36 per year for things that someone like yourself may value but others would not. Many might think that people who pay £36 a year for such doubtful benefits, most if not all can be achieved by getting off ones ar5e, are idiots.

Vehicle charging all over the place
And in either case it will not destroy either the old or the new battery.

How to replace head restrain adjustment clip
The OP is wrong, the clip is removeable my Yeti was missing one and I used one from the rear seat of my old vehicle, it stands out now being a different colour. Robjon has kindly shown a photograph that explains better than my words could ever.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Are you saying that the coiled up lead was part of the charger hub, that the charging failed and as a consequence it is impossible to remove the plug (unless it is powered) so they disconnected the cable from the charging hub and then presumably protected it with the plastic bag? Yet another joy of EV ownership, if the charger plays up (computer says NO!) then you are dogknotted and have to walk to complete your journey, I have seen plenty of numpties drive off with the petrol pump nozzle still in their filler neck (there are restraining cables and dry break shear couplings) but never known a pump nozzle become dogknotted. What does the drivers door handle being "out" signify?

Skoda octavia 4x4 2008. Sell or scrap
I bet that is an understatement 🤣 It wont affect its value (much) as a car to be broken for spares.

Skoda octavia 4x4 2008. Sell or scrap
You have answered my question, 260000 miles and the 26000 miles you wrote was a typo. The rear differential alone costs over £4000 new and there are always people chasing for them after they unwittingly paid their garage to ruin theirs.

Vehicle charging all over the place
No it won't, screw your new battery that is, did that nonsense come from the guy that did the recoding?

Probably a farewell

£4000 for one part of the wiring harness and its 5 days since April fools day, VAG have people for fools every day with prices like that.

Wheels toed in too much after replacing front suspension
Do not try to adjust the tracking, the geometry is way out of kilter specifically the camber and kingpin inclination, correcting the toe in will not change that. Editted, I see you will be wasting your money for alignment, will you too be saying that its working fine when you are driving with white knuckles?

Steering lock turned on after removing ignition locking mechanism
Push and turn? Isn't that what we have to do with the key if the wheel has been turned locking the steering? You have got me wondering now, it's an automatic gesture but recalling what it is ain't automatic, just pretend that the screwdriver is your key and rely on your muscle memory.

Toyota: 0w-8 Engine oil. A vid.
Interesting that it appeared to perform better even under severe extended long term load tests above 150°c than thicker oils. As an ex race engine builder I have never followed the recieved wisdom regarding oil pressure, at one time everyone blindly believed 10psi per 1K RPM, things have moved on a little, I have always seen oil pressure as back pressure = less flow and power losses through pumping, as long as there is sufficient oil passing through the crankshaft bearings to create the hydrodynamic cushion then the lower the pressure and greater the oil flow through the dry sump and oil cooler system the better. You only need 0.05 bar(0.75psi) to get oil to the valve train, less actually, that figure is for water 😁

Car salesman wants my Date of Birth to "comply with FCA regulations "
Crikey, I suppose I admire your tenacity but would it not have been a lot simpler to have just said "NO!" and walk away when they started all the nonsense, they are so greedy and desperate for money they would have found a way around it before you even reached the door. I suppose its easy for me to say after 20 years of doing it in France, its still a regular occurrence I know I am not going to change anything but I simply wont be drawn into their nonsense, life is too short, they always find a way.

Car salesman wants my Date of Birth to "comply with FCA regulations "
I still have mine, I refuse to pay a second time and then every 10 years for something that was and still is valid until I am 70, why is that deserving of mirth? The date of birth is written in code form in the last 6 digits of the driving license number on the real deal paper license, does the plastic card one use the same number? I also would refuse, I do so every time in France where they also want to know my place of birth, I say I will give them the info if they can tell me why they need it, nobody ever can, the transactions always get done without it proving its just custom and that the French education system punishes those who ask "why?". In your case I would refuse also and tell them they already have that info (your license number) if they use their grey matter.

Toyota: 0w-8 Engine oil. A vid.
Impression, he has the right YouTube name. Summary, thin oil, 0W8, car has free oil change and the dealer used the correct grade of genuine oil, nothing shocking, it was a Toyota dealer. I didn't mind the accent, it seemed genuine rather than affected.

Dreadful start to ownership
Thanks for the explanation, that sounds plausible. FYI the magnetic hub is an old wives tale, it is a castellated crown which interrupts the magnetic field of the magnet encased in the sensor this creates the pulsed signal to the electronics which in in simplified form you can imagine as being a reed switch which closes when within a magnetic field.

the truth about electric cars
I was a regular at Shoreham Lighthouse car auctions 48 years ago! Last visit was probably in the 90's, there is not even a lighthouse anymore but the auctions are still going I'm pleased to see.
