  1. Depending on the model, some keyfobs will only 'pop' the boot lid rather than raise it.
  2. Oddly mine now does the same. I still have the slow puncture and the system did, until recently, identify which tyre was deflating. For some reason now it just gives a generic warning without being specific as to which tyre is causing the fault. I noticed as well that if all the tyres deflate at a similar rate, the system won't pick up any problem.
  3. Watch this and decide if it's worth the agg.
  4. I think the OP may be referring to the slow(ish) cranking speed just before ignition. The battery sounds a bit tired to me. Could be due to not being coded in.
  5. I believe the ABS sensors are responsible for the tyre pressure alerts. If they malfunction they can cause warning messages to appear on your infotainment system. Lots of posts dealing with these problems elsewhere on the forum.
  6. A possible check would be to check the tail pipe of your exhaust with your finger for oil. There shouldn't be any.
  7. All DSG/Mechatronic oils need to be changed. No oil lasts forever however much VW/Skoda might have you believe. An oil change is far cheaper than a new clutch pack which is another possible cause of the judder.
  8. No idea, I've never had it done. Mr O'Riley would be the best to ask. Isn't this illegal?
  9. DPF's are cleanable if not too far gone.
  10. Based on differing schedules that have been published over the years for the 1.6tdi ( at one point I think it was down to every 40,000 miles ), I plumped for every 80,000 which equates to once every 3 years roughly. I've had two done now, c/w water pump, and have not had reports back saying that the belt or pump were on their last legs.
  11. My bad. Mis-read your earlier post clearly stating injectors.
  12. The fitter is charging a lot for labour. The plugs themselves can be got for less than £250 for the full set incl the 'special' one.
  13. That looks new new rather than just new to you. Dare I ask how much?
  14. So are 4 & 6. Do they show signs of weakness too?
  15. What part are you referring to? If it's the expansion tank, get one without the silica bag inside and upgrade to G12+ coolant instead.
  16. Is it just that the mirror selector switch on the drivers door is not set correctly?
  17. My 1.6 estate has just turned 190k miles and still on original front springs & shocks. I haven't noticed many ( if any ) posts on here with similar early failures.
  18. I believe there is a sticker in the boot that indicates that the recall has been carried out. TBH, if your mech is still working well after 10 years I would guess it has been fixed already or didn't need it. The recall was to swap out the original synthetic oil for power steering fluid. The synthetic oil corroded the internal contacts
  19. Before doing anything I'd check all of the items they have listed as amber yourself. All are relatively easy to access and view. Garages are very good at over/under-egging the condition of items depending on whether they want/don't want the work. Warranty work doesn't pay that well I'm told.
  20. My local tuning & remapping guy won't touch them. Straight-off said so and didn't want my business, so possibly both could apply. I think the box can only handle 250N/m of torque and is nearly max'd out in standard form.
  21. In hindsight i'd say that is closer to the mark.
  22. I'd say it would be nearer £2k with the labour.
  23. Is there is a specified torque for the bolts? If so, perhaps they weren't correctly tightened.
