Automatic tailgate closing
It’s surprising it was never a press and hold button to open. This is really a bodge, but could you find some plastic, place that over the button then tape it. It’ll be ugly but free to do 😁

What have you done to your Superb III today?
It’s odd as it’s the outside on mine which go all bubbly, centre is still good I’ve just ordered and going to pick up 4 OE ones from the dealership in a bit £62.something , think I’ll wax them to death and never let anyone clean the car other than me, just in case they use an acid cleaner or something

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Ah sounds the same then, OE it is then Hopefully they won’t corrode like my current ones

Other side done, why oh why did I do this whilst having a bad back 😭 Has anyone had good success with Amazon centre caps? Reading the reviews on one I saw says they don’t quite fit properly. OE ones are expensive for what they are, but it’ll fit perfectly at least. My centre caps are horrible and a shame to put them back on for now all 4 are like that

I think me cleaning them like that is the best they’ve ever had from 2016, so you’re should be much better Annoyingly the face of mine is diamond cut, otherwise I’d probably just get them refurbed. The front of my front passenger wheel is a bit a bit grim, it didn’t look too bad when it was dirty but after cleaning it today you can see the marks on it I don’t think I’ve ever kerbed them so either always been like that or just getting worse as time goes on

Took the wheels off for a proper clean as I’ve never done it and too late in some places, which is a bit annoying Only done one side (front and back) I used Bilt Hamber Auto Wheels, then Bilt Hamber claybar then finished with Chemical Guys wheel guard Good enough for me though and onto front and back driver side tomorrow and yes too lazy to do behind the spokes as it’s incredibly baked on

Reg plate requirements
I’m hopefully going to France at some point this year and I despise stick on or magnetic plates, so new reg plate the better option for me I don’t trust online places to do plates so nearest will be Halfords and doesn’t look like you can select the UK bits online annoyingly, if they did I’d probably find the answer myself but thanks for letting me know
-
Reg plate requirements
Yeah I’ve seen that bit but no mention of blue coloured section, so I guess that means no requirement Like for instance is this legal Or this
-
Reg plate requirements
I’m confused about driving in the EU now from UK I know the reg plate needs to say UK with union flag, but does it have to be in a blue section or can the left section background be yellow/white?

Boot Accessories
I must admit it is strange they don’t sell anything, I have literally no idea what you’re meant to use them for, but I did successfully hook in a baguette on the left hand side hooks 😁

Dreadful start to ownership
I’ve yet to buy a ctek but I need one, my cars a 2016 and original battery and seems to be on its last leg which is about right for the age, but I want to make it last longer with a ctek if I can. The supplied M6 eyelet quick connect is too short to make it useful, but ctek does an indicator light which is 10cm longer than the supplied one, so I’m hoping it can be put somewhere so you don’t have to keep opening the bonnet to connect all the time. Be good if it was like 1m because you could move it near the bumper and connect that way
-
Dreadful start to ownership
Leave the battery in place. With the ctek you’ll get an M6 eyelet quick charge, put one of the terminals on the positive and the other on the chassis in the post below The rear discs being crap is very common, caliper failure not so much and will be fairly pricey I imagine. Get that sorted and the compartment under the seat sorted and hopefully you’ll start to like the car. It’s always horrible getting a car when your gut is saying don’t, but hopefully that’s the only issues you’ll have with it

Oil and Service inspection due....
It’s only nagware so nothing drastic will happen. Mine recently popped up and I reset oil and inspection myself as I’ll be doing it myself in summer time

CD Player
It’ll be far and I mean far cheaper to rip the cds to mp3, upload to your phone and play via Bluetooth. It’ll be time consuming and may need to buy a usb drive if you use a modern laptop and doesn’t come with a drive. Bonus is you’ll have a digital back up too

2.0 TSI vs 2.0 TDI
Mines a 2016 with around 43k miles and had it since 2019. There was a similar thread by someone else and can’t remember the year but it has a euro6e or something like that with even more governance and doing short trips more likely to upset DPF but 30mins like you do will be fine I’m sure
-
2.0 TSI vs 2.0 TDI
I do circa £3k a year in my 2016 diesel 190, been absolutely fine except for a/c pipe on the joint “failed” and £1k later and hospital trip it’s all sorted now, and Škoda gave me £200 as goodwill on a non warrantied car so can’t complain too much more Other than that no problems. As you’re undecided which has the best bodywork and colour, cheapest tax and cheapest to insure?

1st MOT advisory - worn suspension arm pins or bushes
That does seem premature, how many miles has it got? Hopefully they’re just hunting for work

Fog/cornering lights led
Ah having fog lights on unnecessarily is illegal in UK (never bloody enforced though!)
-
Fog/cornering lights led
It’s only that it does it as standard with the halogens, dim might not the correct word but as you know when it turns on it’s gracefully rather than instant on, same with when it goes off it dims nicely until it’s off. So I’d like to keep it doing the dimming rather than instant on/off as I can imagine that’ll be annoying to me and other people on the road
-
possible new car: but DSG hums
See if you can test drive another car, might just be a characteristic that you’ve picked up on but is totally normal to others
-
Fog/cornering lights led
Yeah I might just end up sticking with halogen tbh but do as you did and get whiter. i’m surprised more people haven’t tried changing to led

2016 Superb 280 rocker cover oil leak
Hmm from what I can see there’s two types of extended warranty, all component and named component Which one do you have?
-
Fog/cornering lights led
I saw that but quite old now but he said on there it doesn’t dim, but wasn’t sure if things have changed
-
Fog/cornering lights led
I’ve got a 2016 sel and has halogen fog flights and was thinking of upgrading these to LED but would I lose the dimming cabaility? If anyone has done this and it works can you tell me which bulbs you got? LED should still dim just like the interior lights but I’m sure i read somewhere it might be lost
