  1. Very similar, I’ve been doing more searching and Wurth HSS-2000 looks to be the ideal product to use for relubing, not exactly cheap mind you. I’ll be purchasing that as it sprays like a liquid then turns into a grease, so it’ll penetrate in nicely, I’ll spray the door latch lock itself as well
  2. For my car it was lack of lubrication and back to normal for now. I did only use plusgas though so not expecting it to long, unless it dislodged a bit of grit/dirt
  3. Yesterday I did spray a little plus gas by the handle bit, didn’t seem to do much. but today… So I guess it needed some time to think about it and now behaving
  4. Possibly but surely it would be hard to open from the inside as well, hmm
  5. Forgot to mention when the door is open the handle isn’t stiff and opening from the inside is fine when the door is closed. My old car (Passat b5.5) had an issue like this but there was a cable with a plastic end and you could move that forward a few notches to make it tight again. Does the Superb have this hidden somewhere rather than visible on the Passat?
  6. So after 4 or so years I have my first problem with my superb. The drivers door is quite stiff to open, I’ve sprayed it to see if it helps but I doubt it. Any ideas? https://youtube.com/shorts/EpO9gO7Uq1Y?feature=share BTW I don’t normally open my doors like that, just showing the difference between 1 finger opening on rear compared to the fronts 😀
  7. What colour is your car? I rather like it I believe, never seen that as an option hmm
  8. I actually used that on my wife’s Fiat 500 drums, worked a treat if not a little messy. I’m going to go with the brembos and if they do go funky eventually then I’ll hammerite them
  9. If you look at the pads they don’t look flat in places, it’s odd. One of my friends installed the brembos and been fine for no rust for a couple of years so if I can get that I’ll be happy. Rang my local dealer and £156 to install the discs and pads, I thought that was expensive so rang a VAG independent and basically same price, madness. But the time I buy a battery maintainer and vcds I’ll still be quids in I suppose
  10. This is the state of mine and how little it actually bites down and pads quite, it’s done around 39k miles. Hub rust is the worst annoyance as it’s so visual
  11. My rear discs and pads need changing as too rusty and pads waffer thin. I'm thinking of getting Brembo discs (300mm) as they have the painted hubs in black, so no more rusting hubs apprantly. I know some people say go Pagid, but are the hubs painted on those? I don't mind going Pagid pads with Brembo discs if it's really worth it, or shall I go to Brembo discs and Brembo pads? Niggling bit in my brain is I know VAG use Pagid for certain things (normally suspension parts) but if they were to use Pagid then I'll be in the same situation in a few years time with crap brake parts again, having said that there was a revision from 2016 discs and pads so OE is probably better these days, but I very much doubt they have painted hubs either
  12. I was looking at the Skoda accessories brochure, which is here https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/08dde6bc-3689-47b7-a965-d3d059ee90c7 On Page 5&6 it has the alloy wheel collection and next to Orion & Triton it has a snow logo, indicating winter alloys, but surely if people wanted a cheap set brand new OEM you'd go for Stratos as it's £191 per wheel compared to £199 for Orion and £215 for Triton ? I know for winter tyres you want as narrow tyres as possible, so 215 is ideal (not sure why people put fat tyres on as thats the worst possible thing to do!), but what I can't remember is, do you need the spokes to be as big as possible (Orion & Triton) so snow doesn't form inside the wheel, or is it the other way round? can't remember 😞
  13. Excellent, I believe the maps are updated twice a year if you want to keep as updated as possible. I only ever done it twice in my 4 year ownership but will be doing it annually from now on. I’m happy it’s free though as I know Audi you have to pay which is dirty, not sure about VW though
  14. Oh em gee, no idea why I wrote negative on positive 😬, can’t edit the post now either. Do you know if it’s m6 or m8 on the battery terminal and chassis terminal?
  15. With the ctek charge lead indicator it says to plug into positive and negative, then on the LED indicator it shows your battery state. When charging though the negative should be on positive and chassis bit for the negative, does that mean the battery indicator wouldn’t work? Also for people who have the normal charge lead, is it m6 or m8 required (I could look admittedly…)
  16. Yeah that’s it. Last time I done it though I had to go into the sat nav menu to kick off the update. Cant remember exactly where I went but I think it was click on Nav, then settings then version info then click upgrade
  17. At the very least the ignition, but that’ll drain the battery a bit. What I done on my last update was ran it whilst going on a long trip but I believe it was only around 30 minutes from start to finish (my trip was 4 hours to location), you can still use your radio so won’t be sat in silence. If you live near a motorway then that’s perfect as you can go on that and let it do it’s thing then come back
  18. I too was hesitant the first time for but updated twice and been fine
  19. Not even an optional extra I’m afraid for UK
  20. I can see your location is Leeds, but are you anywhere near the area in blue? http://tx.mb21.co.uk/mapsys/map.php?mapid=84 Because of the mast issue apprantly DAB has been affected by the fire so there’s temporary masts. I don’t do the north, so I’m not sure if Leeds is high up or not but have you driven somewhere else to see if you can then find radio5? Could be the signal is weaker than the other bbc radio stations
  21. Vacuum seats, then warm damp cloth go over the seats, let it dry. then use https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/gliptone-liquid-leather-cleaner I use this on a cloth, rub in with cloth or leather brush if needed, leave for about 5 minutes. Wipe over with a warm damp cloth again, let it dry Then apply https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/gliptone-liquid-leather-conditioner-250ml I personally put this on the leather directly and rub in using bare hands and leave at least 24 hours before driving. I only use this as I love the smell of leather and this is top notch and smell lasts for ages. A word of warning on the smell, your hands will smell like you’ve fisted a cow for a good few days 🤪 When you get in your car, you can use a fresh micro fibre cloth and go over the seats lightly as there will be a bit of a sheen but after use it’ll go a nice matte finish just how leather should be. Leather purists say just use warm soapy water but I love the smell of leather so use this. I can just about see your front seats looks shiney which suggests oils on the surface so a good clean will make it look pucker
  22. I suspect that is from a from a crash and I’m guessing non declared, is the car cat n at all? I suppose rodents are a possibility with an awful repair job. Personally I’d still take it back but after finding those dodgy repairs as long as you’re prepared to get everything repaired correctly and expect to find more things to fix then it’s still fixable. Only you know which way you want to go, I just hope you didn’t pay too much for this car as “you’ve been had”
  23. Sounds like a lemon car, unless you got it dirt cheap, if not then I’d ask for a full refund and go elsewhere, sorry. Having said that you really need to get it scanned and see what the errors are, that many issues makes me think if it’s had a front end crash and maybe didn’t connect things back properly. You should be able to look at the light cluster which isn’t working and see if everything is connected, as I believe the eyelash lights have their own connector (might be lying though) It could also be the battery went completely flat and need codes clearing as I’m sure someone on here had loads of issues after changing the battery but they did clear eventually. Hopefully it’s something simple as new battery + battery coding changed, but having been stung in the past before I’ll only ever get from proper dealerships now. Reading your original post and this one has made me feel sick, so I hope you get to the bottom of it or full refund, but I suppose if you’ve bought the car expecting issues that’s okay, if not I’d get a refund
  24. Oh yes, sorry I can see now I'm on desktop. Can you take a photo of your radio? Edit: Ignore me, I thought they all had satnav as standard. You won’t be the first to ask so I’m sure someone will know what to do
