  1. I've got a lower device part number and software number. That probably explains it
  2. Strange how they're different? Mines a May 2021 Build
  3. Your VC looks very subtly different to mine in terms of UI design!
  4. For my last 2 FWD cars I just put the new tyres on the rear and moved the rears forward. Don't think it ever lined up needing 4 in one go. Helps prevent sawtooth tyre wear on the rear too
  5. I think these might be capacitive in that sense. I sometimes get a warning to hold the wheel when I have a loose grip on it or hold it at a certain position
  6. Just been out for a look. Mine definitely doesn't exhibit this behaviour. VC retains all display settings when you plot a navigation route.
  7. @SteveMcK do you mean it changes the entire VC display to the blank one that shows only range, sat nav arrow and speed?
  8. I always thought cars on mainland Europe held their value much better than in the UK. It seemed odd there was a higher price available in the UK for a LHD. Seems like it's just bait as above. If the car's been reliable and you don't mind LHD in the UK, I'd just re register it? Brakes are a consumable item after all Otherwise drive it back within 6 months on French plates and trade it in on the continent?
  9. I'd start by disconnecting your dashcam to rule that out?
  10. I have a 20cm quadlock one that works fine, doesn't get in the way
  11. Don't forget when using QI and AA wireless you have thee main heat generators: 1. Constant GPS use 2. Processor and chip use as all the graphics processing are done on the phone, not the car 3. Heat generated via the QI coils Whilst the phone will protect itself, the prolonged high temperature state for the battery can't be good for it's long term health? Just plug it into the USB if it's going to be a long trip.
  12. It really has no need being an AGM in this car. It has no purpose other than to power the 12v accessories - I think he may have been mistaken?
  13. I can echo above except I've found the superb is easier on fuel than Passat. I'd expect 45 mpg in winter and 55 in the summer. You can do better by doing all sorts of fastidious driving. I've managed 70 on a similar commute in the Passat, but can confirm on a journey of that length you soon stop bothering with all that!
  14. You're going to need to get the manual key to work to open the door, it might just just need some more persuasion. It'll only release the lock, you'll need to pull the the handle as normal. Unfortunately if your central locking isn't working you might not actually have enough power to energise the drive system 😞
  15. Tell that to my partner who recently reversed the car into a gate because "I thought it would stop itself" 🙃
  16. Sounds like they're treating you to two new front tyres plus another inspection at an unaffiliated garage for anything else they missed at PDI!
  17. Looks normal on the hubs. The chrome damage is generally caused by TFR used in car washes
  18. Anyone noticed that the car play / android auto button has moved in the latest update?
  19. I don't know the exact reasoning but you may prefer to have more battery available for city driving? I personally never bother with it
  20. I think I misread the sticker. It states GVW 2259 GTW 3859 Which makes sense for the 1600. The only thing we tow is a cattle trailer so towbar prep seemed a bit pointless on this car because of the low capacity
  21. Just popped out and looked at mine. May 2021 build iV - no tow rating! Edited: just looked at the V5 -1600kg braked
  22. Be careful, on the more recent cars if it doesn't have the towing prep installed at factory, the rating plate for all towing is marked as nil, meaning you're never fully legal to tow with that car.
  23. Wait so the fix is to install matting over the fuse instead of swapping it?!
  24. Also when going up / down spiral ramps in car parks for some reason. Generally it's a dirty sensor cover though
