  1. Not sure what is the real reason behind, but I think Skoda did some bad decisions with this car. Say, not letting us control the force of regen could be a marketing thing, since Superb has to be more expensive, and that is one of very few things differentiating it. But at least they could give an option to use full available regen on demand, which now can be done only via cruise control. Switching regen on with gear paddle also does not make any sense, since it gives very weak regen but overrides any other logic, like following the car in front or adjusting speed in front of intersection. Idk, the car could be way smarter and comfortable to drive if these small things were fixed. So I was surprised too when even in the settings they removed an option to choose at least default mode of regen, like it wasn't great already but became even worse.
  2. This error stays in car logs and will be visible to them even if does not pop up again, and that's enough to get it replaced under warranty. Also, if I could give just one advice to anyone with this car... go get extended warranty.
  3. From my experience and what I collect around on social media, PHEVs have very little to no issues at all with HV system. All the other problems are shared across the platform, no matter you take PHEV, MHEV, or just ICE. Same 12V issues are constant across all options. But surely, PHEV only makes sense if you can charge it overnight at cheap tariff. In any other case I'd go for MHEV or just EV, depending on weekly mileage.
  4. I use a similar stick for 128GB as well, formatted for exFAT. No problem playing. So I guess don't waste money on another stick yet. I navigate in music player to the stick as a source and then select folder and a file in it to start playing. Though I'm on 1941, and what you describe is another reason I'm not in a rush to upgrade my infotainment further.
  5. That's the fault of poor traction control these cars have. I had wheel spins on both Turanza and Eagle (though more on Eagle) before I got used to start the way to avoid it. Had FL rental last year and the same issue was there, though don't remember what tyres it had. Apart of that, as someone who likes to go 170 in heavy rainfall, I would choose Bridgestones over pretty much anything else I had a chance to try, both Turanza and Blizzak.
  6. Do they? Not the quietest tyres in my experience, though much quieter than stock Goodyears. But Octavia in general isn't great for tyre noise whatever tyres you install. I prefer a bit more noise but excellent performance, rather than chasing that 1dB to cut and getting some crap result overall.
  7. Genuine question - WTF? Mind making a picture of how your car looks like now? I mean, there is nothing to inspect really, it is a very common issue. They must have ordered a new screen and replace it on spot, not letting you drive around like that...
  8. I disconnected mine, no problems. Just in case connected it back before MOT and then disconnected again.
  9. You may disconnect sensors under the seat. Though I think more practical would be to store stuff on the floor or in the trunk indeed.
  10. Indeed, that doesn't make sense. It is charging 12V battery only in the process of charging HV battery. So when my infotainment was switching on at night, my car was fully charged by 6am, and when I was coming at 9am, 12V battery was already dead. 3 hours was enough to drain it. But then again, for some reasons beyond my comprehension, this is a common issue across EVs.
  11. Idk, I'm used to hard reboot module if it looses connection. Just make sure ignition is off. If manipulating settings helps without rebooting hardware, then that's even better.
  12. Check that your car has connection, a little globe icon should be white. If it does not (icon is grey), switch off ignition and pull fuse 19 for a minute.
  13. Interesting that you have to push for it. In all related TPIs that I've seen it is just a standard way of fixing these problems - SW updates or coding, then unit replacement, then repeat if did not help. I had my infotainment changed twice before Skoda rolled out 1941 update. Like, everybody understood it won't help, but that's what Skoda mandated to do anyway. Though I would mention that it helps staying with one particular workshop, so you don't have to start the process from the beginning in a next workshop which did not touch the car yet.
  14. Yeah, better to record video evidence when it happens. Park it outside under the sun for a day and it may trigger the issue.
  15. Ok, I misunderstood you thinking you attached videos via myskoda app somehow. That would be a cool feature for them to add.
  16. Not really. PHEVs have a big buffer of about 30% which is enough to protect battery. I charge mine till 100% with max current daily, I see no noticeable degradation after 4 years.
  17. Put it in P or N and kick down accelerator. Though it will start revving up quite a bit, which is not optimal for a cold engine, and may as well shut down quickly after. But if battery is not full and you want to start it charging, that should work.
  18. Could you elaborate what does it mean and how it is done?
  19. Oh wow, yours worked for so long! I'm close to 42k, mine are to be changed for the second time already.
  20. Yes it is one unit. It overheats due to some design flaw and sooner or later starts behaving as you described. No SW update would fix that. You'll find quite a few of us here who went through screen replacement.
  21. They will install new screen. Good you have warranty.
  22. Ok, then I misunderstood the topic and confused the OP. I'll check that one on my car to see how it works.
  23. I think pre-FL cars don't have this feature of adjusting to speed limits, unless you are driving with Travel Assist engaged and the function is on in its settings. It does not depend on navigation settings I think, you'd need to look for it in assistant systems settings.
  24. Please ask them for details, what exactly they were updating?
  25. Dying 12V battery gives all the possible errors indeed. Not too rare all of them except for 12V battery discharging. I never had a full array of errors popping up, but had some exotic ones like electric drive error or gearbox error, and it was due to 12V battery, too.
