  1. If you have a 5-speed box, there is apparently a nut on the 5th gear layshaft which can come undone and drop into he gearbox...
  2. What is "break (sic) fluid"? You won't feel a difference when braking, unless your braking is hard enough that the ABS should activate and doesn't.
  3. This is a first to me, but sounds like it could be an ignition suppression issue (petrol engine only).
  4. @leolito I don't see the relationship between the Skoda Superb and "Gloria Mundi's van has broken down"?
  5. That's unusual; what is the little clike telling you tales about, and why only when you're turning left?
  6. Similarly; particularly I have a tendency to inject Evostik Resin W down screw holes in MDF components.
  7. Skoda Stealership "thought process" is "Can we charge money for 'fixing' something?" If Yes then "It needs fixed" Else "It's perfectly normal sir."
  8. The point is not just to replace the coolant, but to wash debris out of the system at the same time. This usually involves 3 or 4 complete changes of water in the system, then let it dry pretty much completely (say till the hoses stop dripping), and finally refill using measured quantities of liquid.
  9. That is a VERY bad way to "replace" the coolant, because you won't know how much "antifreeze" is in the system.
  10. I actually believe this. Where I presently live these was one elderly lady who did burn through 4 clutches in as many years and about 8_000 miles. Her driving "technique" involved revving the engine to 4_000rpm, clutch slipping acceleration for about 30s, change into 2nd gear and repeat.
  11. Buy a car with an active TPMS, rather than expect a passive TPMS to be able to read tyre pressures.
  12. Well, to start with the fan(s) should cut out at 90c, not cut in. If both hoses get hot, that's "normal function".
  13. - Similarly when I had my Octy.
  14. I'm as sure as I can be that it's the turbo without me and the car being in the same place.
  15. Has the oil consumption risen since this behaviour started?
  16. Hakusaka (Japanese for "box car").
  17. No idea, but if it does the expansion bottle will be labelled "mit silikat".
  18. @Triff As others, my reaction was that this sounds pretty normal for an electric or electro-hydraulic PAS.
  19. 75kg nose weight is about 1 adult on their graphic.
  20. The fault codes in the airbag module.
  21. Also @Gonzini The 90 display temperature shows more or less anywhere between 50C and 110C WATER temperature.
