  1. Where in West Yorks are you. I've got VCDS so can read fault codes and have messed about quite a bit with clusters, I'm just not in @Eddie-NL 's league. Cheers, Kev.
  2. TBH I don't know. I contacted @Eddie-NL via PM through this forum. Problem is he rarely logs in nowadays. He does have an Ebay site edward1975. I had to have my cluster replaced as it was beyond repair. As @Golf-Fiend said above using an online repair service probably is the cheapest option. If it was only LED's I'd have offered to do it.
  3. Copied from somewhere to a text file by me (probably Briskoda). If you do fit one, you'll also need the immobiliser reprogramming and the milage correcting on a second hand clusters - Ed is your man for this but quite a distance from Newcastle From UK petrol models I think the full part numbers are as follows but you should check before committing to buy. SW: 01xx 1Z0920943B non-vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943D) 1Z0920943C vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943D) SW: 03xx 1Z0920943F non-vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943G) 1Z0920943H vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943J) SW: 04xx 1Z0920943K non-vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943M) 1Z0920943L vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943N) SW: 06xx 1Z0920943Q non-vRS) (Diesel version is 1Z0920943S) 1Z0920943R vRS (Diesel version is 1Z0920943T) Just to add a little more information about SW versions. 01xx - Doesn't support premium bluetooth icons, so you end up with empty squares instead of icons when used be newer bluetooth modules, not updatable. 03xx - Is a version I know little about, not seen any reports it can be updated. May or may not support premium BT icons. 04xx - Can be updated to 06xx using the correct tools (it looses the needle configuration during the upgrade which needs restoring). I believe it should support premium BT icons. 06xx - Latest version is 0608 which supports PLA2.0, direct TPMS, refuel volume etc.
  4. The instrument cluster cannot be coded in using VCDS unless it's a brand new cluster in a virgin state. The cluster needs to be coded to the immobiliser with the code being read from the old cluster. I had my instrument cluster replaced. I had to take the replacement cluster and car from here in Leeds to @Eddie-NL in Norwich as he was the only person on the planet who seemed to know how to do it. He had some special kit that can clone the old cluster to the replacement. Kev.
  5. @icarusi@hotmail Posted a fuel pump question on the 17 September. No power to Fuel Pump Controller on 2009 1.4 TSI https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/526608-no-power-to-fuel-pump-controller-on-2009-14-tsi/ In @icarusi@hotmail question they have written:- "I had a look for circuit diagrams, but the one I found for 2009 was showing an FPR rather than a FPC" If FPC means Fuel Pump Controller and FPR means Fuel Pump Relay then I strongley suspect that like @icarusi@hotmail you too have a fuel pump controller. Where that is I don't know, maybe @icarusi@hotmail can advise. Kev.
  6. Sorry, I can't help as you knowledge is greater than mine. Just asking, would it be possible if you could answer @ggpowell2 question? 2011 Skoda Octavia Scout 1.8 TSI - Where is the fuel pump relay? https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/526725-2011-skoda-octavia-scout-18-tsi-where-is-the-fuel-pump-relay/#replyForm I suspect they also have a fuel pump controller and if you could explain where the FPC is and how to identify it would be good. Thank you. Kev.
  7. Hi, The middle image is Fakra dual male connector. Is this the existing connector in the car that you need to connect to? Fakra connectors are colour coded, white male to white female etc. However the aqua green connector is an exception, it is universal and can connect to any other colour. Try searching for Fakra adaptors to find the one you need. Alternately, you could just buy the connectors and make up a custom cable. Also, I should point out that it looks like the head unit takes a DIN connection, so dual Fakra to DIN is the connector you require. Kev.
  8. Finally, I know where it is. 14th post down https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/474559-oil-service-workshop-reverse-lights-and-other-electrics-not-working/ Need to remove the wipers. Will try and get some pictures. And thanks @Stevie D Three hours just to locate.
  9. Hi Everyone, VCDS gives me the following error. Address 08: Auto HVAC (J255) Labels:| 5K0-907-044.clb Part No SW: 3T0 907 044 AS HW: 3T0 907 044 AS Component: Climatronic H15 0401 Revision: 00005001 Coding: 0000000002 Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00999 ASAM Dataset: EV_Climatronic A01006 ROD: EV_ClimaAutoBasis_SK35.rod VCID: 035398B01B99C9B24A1-8056 1 Fault Found: 9481988 - Air Quality Sensor B10AF 04 [00001000] - Internal System Fault Intermittent - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Priority: 3 Fault Frequency: 23 Reset counter: 115 Mileage: 70181 km Date: 2024.06.14 Time: 19:13:05 The recommend fix is to replace the air quality sensor. I thought the sensor was under the scuttle panel but I can't find it. I have read this should be a 10 minute job but 2 hours later and I can't even find it. Does anyone know where the air quality sensor is located on an Octavia MK2 Facelift vehicle. Thanks. Kev.
  10. I've solved my problem. It's not clear in the top image but in the orignal high resolution image that oil filter is a Mann W719/45. The Mann W719/45 oil filter has a male fitting just like the top bottom two oil filters and as specified for a CDAA engine and even all generations of the 1.8tsi EA888 engine with a spin on oil filter. North America engines use a filter insert in a filter housing. I am certain the male fitting has separated from the filter so now it appears the correct filter has a female fitting. Has anyone heard of this before? Kev.
  11. IGNORE - SEE NEXT POST........ Hi, The VIN is TMBAK61Z4A2082223. The engine code is CDAA. Can anyone tell me correct part number? What I don't understand is if I search for the oil filter on any parts supplier database by using the Make, Model and selecting the engine they all come up with the wrong part. Thanks, Kev.
  12. Hi, Ordering when using my vehicle registration I keep getting the wrong oil filter. First time I thought it was the seller so asked my wife to pick one up as she passes GFS on the way home. Again the wrong filter. I ended up going to Halfords and checking all the boxes until I found the right one. This is the old correct filter. And this are the two wrong filters. Can someone tell me why I keep getting the wrong oil filter when using the vehicle registration. The engine should be a 1.8 TSI of 160bhp. Is that correct for this type of filter. Thanks, Kev.
  13. Hi, Don't know about the coding hopefully some else will answer that. When you take the head unit out of the car (the original radio) the radio will have a wiring diagram attached to showing the pins. You should be able to sort it out from that.
  14. Sorry, can't answer but how much was the overfill? A little or a lot. How far above the maximum fill level are you?
  15. Must admit, I do like it. 1.8t. Is that diesel or petrol? Please do a project thread. I will certainly follow the adventure the two of you have together. Kev.
  16. Have you checked the roof aerial? Mine was loose and that let water into the boot and footwell. Edit: Missed this was a 5 year old thread.
  17. I suspect a blown LED's. These two for the speedo and rev counter each. There's a guide here: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/425611-instrument-cluster-led-replacment/ Or you can use a service where they will repair the circuit board. You can see the two LEDS in this image above and below the needle spindle.
  18. Have you seen this Just been reading it.
  19. @Doowle I am not certain what cluster you have. By LCD do you mean the maxidot? I had to have my cluster replaced on my MKII Octavia so the only advice I can provide is in relation to that. If your setup is different then it may not be relevant. The only person I could find who could replace the cluster is a member of this forum @Eddie-NL. I'm in Leeds and he is in Norwich so a 400 mile round trip. The problem I had was the immobiliser key is stored in the cluster. This needs to read from the old cluster then coded into the new cluster. VCDS cannot do this. I don't know what @Eddie-NL used but he striped the new cluster down to the circuit board, removed the maxidot and then put a clip directly onto the microchip with a cable attached so each leg of the microchip had a wire attached to it. This cable then connected to a black box which in turn connected to his laptop. At this point I realised what he was doing was way beyond what normal people are capable of doing and left him to it. Before contacting Eddie I phoned around VAG group specialist's and auto electricians through out West Yorkshire. Unless you have a brand new cluster in a "virgin" state that is an identical part number then no garage was willing to do it which from your comment "appears to be working", I doubt you do have. As far as I am concerned it's @Eddie-NL or nothing. As for Eddie, I could not recommend him enough. Not only did he setup up the replacement cluster to work, he calibrated the needles as well. And as a finishing touch he enabled "needle sweep" - it looks cool now when I start the car. I gave him a large tip I was so impressed. Hopefully, @Eddie-NL will log in soon and see he has been mentioned and reply. Best of luck. Kev.
  20. For the benefit of future readers, it ain't worked. The problem is back again today but it's failed completely now. I am convinced myself that it is the microswitch/sensor. The wiring is in just too good a condition to be at fault and it's a low milage car as well. I intend to strip the door and have a look. I need to youtube to see what to expect first. I will update as I progress for all my readership.
  21. I worked how to trigger the door open/closed sensor with door open. WD40 has seemed to have fixed the issue for now. The wiring appears to be good. No damage to the rubber cover and I can't feel any damage to the cable. What I did notice when opening the rear doors there was a one second delay before the maxidot registered a change. I have WD40 all doors now and the change in the maxidot is now instant, as if the sensor was sticking. If it occurs again I will report back.
  22. In the Mk1 it was in the door lock mechanism inside the door and probably the same on the Mk2 Thanks.
  23. Thanks @pikpilot Where is the door open sensor (microswitch?) . I can't find one. Kev.
  24. I first notice last week that when the drivers door is opened it was not showing on the maxidot the outline of the car with the door opened. I assumed it was just a glitch as it went away soon after. Tonight, I decided to take my family to the local church for 5 minutes and when I returned it again happened that all the other doors are shown as opened except the drivers door. Any ideas what could be the cause? I'm hoping WD40 in the right place would be the fix. Thanks, Kev.
