  1. Nothing to do with farming post count... ...at all, amirite?
  2. Yes, if it's a different make or model then the bumpers will probably be different.
  3. It's almost never the injectors on a PD, the loom fails often but without a code diagnosis is tricky, fuel pump relay is the other possibility.
  4. VW part is a replacement SMF due to DMF premature failures, so unless yours is chattering and ticking like a knackered DMF then it's probably a SMF already and you won't need a new one.
  5. It's never a bad idea to have a real oil pressure gauge with a capillary feed even if you blank it off once the engine is running, tested and known to be good.

  7. In fact, if I were rebuilding that engine I'd definitely use aftermarket forged rods and pistons and I'd get the whole lot dynamically balanced, the block chemically cleaned and glaze busted, new oil pump, camchain and tensioner. If you're gonna build, always build better.
  8. It's easily repaired using heat but they're ten a penny on the bay.
  9. Blimey, it'd be a lot cheaper to buy a set of aftermarket forged conrods, better too.
  10. A knackered crank is usually symptomatic of oil starvation, make sure you get to the bottom of the cause of all this damage rather than just replacing everything and blithely expecting everything to be ok.
  11. Haha, a boost gauge isn't exactly essential so trust issues are a moot point!
  12. The pump is surprisingly easy to replace if needed.
  13. It'll be the lift pump or its relay.
  14. You need to get them programmed, RFID chips aren't going to program themselves...
  15. As usual you're overthinking this HORRIBLY, just replace the rack boot and keep an eye on the fluid level and everything is gonna be alright.
  16. I calculate that as 295ml per thousand km, that's using 880g per litre as a reasonable datum.
  17. Reset the gear linkage and all will be well.

  19. It's not the 9N Polo so Fabia engines won't work, it's a generation older: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363723888685?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=VOa4N0o2RyG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=_BlMq7ebT3O&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY This should fit ok
  20. They've obviously messed something up, otherwise it wouldn't be leaking coolant after they worked on it.
  21. So take it back to the garage that messed it up, they've obviously not done the EGR cooler bypass properly when they deleted it.
  22. What did you do with the EGR cooling pipes?
  23. Early Fabia 1 is the pinnacle of noughties rust resistance, I had an '89 Passat B3 GT estate that was completely immune to corrosion and built like a brick ****house until I spun it on a diesel spill and hit a tree side-on really hard, even then I was still able to drive it home!
