  1. Cheers for looking buddy; Pretty sure that’s an S6. The RS models usually have a large oval on each side. I’ll have a look and see what I can find. The thing I’m not sure about the AMG ones is the other end, where the exhaust attaches. It needs to be 63mm minimum, which it is, but the AMG tailpipes seem to be a massive oval shape so there wouldn’t be a sealed connection but I don’t know if that matters? An exhaust clamp wouldn’t work so was thinking I could put some self-tappers through given I don’t have a welder etc but then would have to consider them not interrupting the flow (would that be material at that point?) and not rattling themselves loose etc etc.
  2. Famous weak point. Get it changed sooner rather than later. Which engine?
  3. Same for steering wheels. Shouldn't be black shiny, should be charcoal grey and matt. Good job on the switch - checking out your project, aliepxress has so much to answer for!
  4. Its correct - spend £50 you don't have on a part that is quality/correct/fits, you get enjoyment for your expenditure. Spend it on something that doesn't work, or is no good or you never use it, and its just a pure waste of £50.
  5. I’ve done a lot of looking and comparing. These look too square and not like yours which seem to compliment the inner angle of the cutout. No criticism, I’m just being picky and will keep looking…
  6. I was also wondering if bolts being done up in order rather than opposites but it also feels like over analysis. Would be interesting to know if this is a thing. Someone with more engineering experience feel free to tell me just how out of my ass I’m thinking. But it could be a thing with your bolts being overtightened. Coppergreased torque spec maybe.
  7. One of my winter wheels falls over if I stand it up, leading me to think it’s not balanced laterally correctly. I also feel a slight weirdness in the rolling which I think is this. Is it possible to have a rear wheel radially out of balance with the other wheel on the axle, and braking exacerbates it? And perhaps the wheel has gone back on in a different position and it’s now in sync with the other side now? Even reading this back it feels like a stretch but struggling to understand something which has gone away like that…
  8. Cheers buddy. All the links are too old so searching for other items. Wouldn’t mind some graphite-coloured ones as they look subtler but there are so many options it just leads to option paralysis!
  9. You’re overthinking a lot of this. Most of the brake components are all the same. We’ve established it’s not a 280 so has 312mm vented front discs and 300mm solid rear discs. And the pads you put up are the right ones for the front. What else are you looking to get?
  10. Right. Toyed with this in my mind. Looks very subtle and would like to do the same. @MartiniB did your original exhaust have the trim attached to the end of the pip or the bumper? The 280 is attached to the pipe by the looks of it - so would this be a case of cutting the old pipe and clamping these new parts on? If so, the pipe diameter is important? I’m guessing by this point it doesn’t overlap matter if it isn’t an exact fit, as long as it clamps on tightly and fits in well to the bumper trim etc
  11. Good job. Mine looked like that after 12k miles so it may be that I have a heavy right foot.
  12. Don’t use WD40 or any other strong solvents, it’ll only make it worse in the longer term as it will have a melting effect and cause more fogginess. The issue is the material itself. WD40 would work as a solvent to remove a contaminant on the surface; it’s masking the issue instead of resolving it. Will have a look at products - I did see something about a company doing a PPF-type that had great results with these sorts of applications.
  13. The chap at RPM was good to talk to. I was looking at one of these; jumped on the phone to see which one was the right one (as I think Cupra Formentor is a better fit for the AWD as opposed to Golf/S3 etc.). He mentioned I might want to look under the car to check I had one as some models had had them removed from 2019 onwards. I don't think it ran in line with EA888.4 engine or the GPF being brought in - either way, quick video under the car with the phone revealed the FL 280 doesn't actually have one.
  14. Oh bloody hell. How odd they changed the name. Cheers for the correction as ever haha
  15. Nice nod to MIB I see…although though wheels are Trinity. Nice work - pleased with them?
  16. You throw your kids in the boot?! On a serious note, one great practicality thing are vent covers for the air con exhaust under the front seat. You can pick them up on Amazon. Stops losing stuff up there
  17. Mine does this. When it’s on auto, the passenger side doesn’t go all the way down; not sure what the reason is but I asked when I first noticed it and I think the answer was that it’s so that the wiper is ready to sweep. Flick the stalk back down to off and you’ll see it then settle out of sight.
  18. Looking at standard sizes pic on the internet, 16x6.5 (which was a standard option on poverty spec) with 215/60 tyre is 1% difference to 18x8 with 235/45 tyre. Wheels from different models are likely to be down to offset for poke as much as anything. You can always have a play about on willtheyfit and see what suits and what the effect will be.
  19. That is the last model of MIB3 in the Superb, yes. Mine is Columbus and gives a folder tree but yes it just starts from the beginning.
  20. Thoughts are that Amazon will pay very little attention to whether they’re right or not while dodging as much Corporation Tax as possible. But the pads look correct for the front judging by Autodoc 👍🏼
  21. No worries - so 312mm vented front and 300mm solid rear discswise. Rear pads are rear pads. Front will need to be specific. Autodoc is as good as any and generally OE/OEM will be fine whoever makes them. Personally, choosing ceramic pads are great for cleaning as they are incredibly low dust (I have just switched from ATE Ceramics and the wheels get so dirty so quickly) but someone did report them chewing through his discs. I didn't have them long enough to see any effect of this.
  22. Yep motor factors are super-sh1te at resolving number plates to models and engines/parts etc. Depends if your 4x4 is petrol 280 or TDI For 280 4x4: Front discs are 340mm vented. Rear Discs are 310mm vented. For everything else including diesel 4x4: 312mm vented front and 300mm solid rear discs. Rear pads are the same apparently. Front are different (but they should say to work with 340mm or 312mm which should tell you the difference.
  23. He hasn't been on since July last year but even before that he was dropping it I think as too busy. Pity as he was a font of a lot of detailed knowledge so big loss.
  24. Firstly, when was the gearbox serviced last and how many services has it had in its 145k lifetime? In UK DQ250s were meant to be every 40k miles (64k km) so if it hasn't had at least 2 services and half way towards its third, then that's likely a factor. Secondly, who did the tcu remap?
