the truth about electric cars
I think we need to explore the possibility that the Range Rover was equipped with an experimental warp core and what happened was a small warp core breach. It's certainly looks like it opened a rift into a parallel universe for some people.

Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
Norway, January 2020. Norway has a very high uptake of EVe so this one *must* be due to an EV surely 🤔 "The vehicle garage in question has capacity for 3,000 cars and was nearly full when the fire started, according to broadcaster NRK. The cause is unknown and under investigation, but local police said they were notified at about 3:30 p.m. that an electric car was on fire in the parking garage." But wait "Local media reports later said the fire started in an Opel Zafira with an internal combustion engine." https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/hundreds-cars-destroyed-fire-norway-airport I fear the only one who'll be eating humble pie is you, Graham. Whether or not you will take a slice yourself remains to be seen but, given the law of averages, is it (a) more likely than not the reports of the RR was a diesel are correct or (b) your theory that the RR was an EV that nobody informed the DVLA of? I think you know the answer. I mean for Chrissakes even the Daily Mail/ Mail Online reported it as a diesel RR and they have a very obvious anti EV bias.

Maybe the Opel Zafira had been converted to EV and nobody told the Irish motor vehicle authorities 🤔 https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-30959872.html

How do we know they hadn't been converted to EV and the Swedish motor authorities hadn't been informed? IT COULD HAPPEN! 🤔🤪🤣

One for Graham. Maybe one for when you're getting your car ready for winter maybe

Christallduckingmighty🤦 Nobody's denying that cars can be converted to EV ffs. Just that it's been reported as a diesel, Beds Fire Service said it was a diesel, there's been links about JLR RRs problems with fires but nooooooo that's not good enough for Graham is it? Seriously, get a grip rather than clutching at straws in whatever desperate point it is you're trying to make.

People have been reading what you've posted including your utterly ridiculous 'BUT WHAT IF IT HAD BEEN CONVERTED TO EV aNd NoBoDy ToLd ThE dVlA' guff 🤪

Now you're really clutching at straws, Graham.

Exactly that. The Boomtown festival I mentioned in 2016. Very few, if any, EVs. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/boomtown-fair-music-festival-fire-hampshire-evacuated-80-cars-destroyed-a7189156.html This video was originally about breaking the transmission of Corona but I guess it could equally apply to cars catching fire in close proximity to each other. A few years ago at the Boomtown festival in Hampshire dozens of cars caught fire after just one caught fire. It's the proximity to each other not the propulsion type. Very few, if any, were EVs.

ULEZ and other similar schemes we are being told are all about clean air for everybody but are they really just a means of making money from motorists?
One day people will realise my username is @Lee so to tag me it's @@Lee If people think they've tagged me and I'm being rude for not replying it's because they tagged the wrong user. My At-At gif profile pic wasn't an accident. The actual @Lee is gonna one day wake up to a **** ton of notifications. Funnily enough I once met him and he also had a blue Rapid. But his was from the 80s and had a Rover K series engine in it. 🤣 Android 11 from 2020. Still one of the most popular versions I believe. I've had no problems with any apps including the Ookla speed test app I reinstalled tonight to get that screenshot. Carista updated the last month when I needed it after not using it for a few years. NHS app still works as does my HMRC account app. Both banking apps fine SM apps fine etc etc. Obviously mine is still more than just a phone and a camera. After I leave my laptop in the evening it's my means of surfing, shopping on Amazon etc and even streaming direct to the TV. Nothing that worked when I first bought it doesn't still work now. It's not slow either. I once had forty odd tabs in the Chrome browser in the background. Personal info redacted

Never had to use an app anywhere to park tbh not even in Hamburg. I've never had an issue with my UK phones internet speed either tbh on EE. Pixel 2 XL was bought in the UK in 2016. As you can see, no WiFi on and 4g. 70Mbps (88 combined) isn't too bad IMHO. More than enough to stream in 4K. Not that I use it much now there's roaming charges. I was curious and that's actually slightly better than I get on my more modern German SIM mobile.

I've only paid to park in Germany a handful of times in almost five years. Most parking spaces are on an honour system. You place your 'Ankunftszeit karte' (arrival time card) in the window and you get 1, 2, 3 hours free parking in most places. Then there's parking in shopping centres where you take a card from the ticket machine on entry. If you make a qualifying purchase in any shop you ask them to validate your parking and then it's free. Fines for overstaying/ not displaying your card are relatively low. I think last time I was robbed of a whopping €5 🤣

the truth about electric cars
Why RTFM when you can go on Brisky and get twenty different people's interpretation of what it says @toot only Skoda I had with no alarm button on the B pillar is a MkI Fabia though I think you could disable it with the key fob or it might have been VagCom / VCDS but never had cause to so I'm not 100% now. Only used the button once on a ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg in SWMBO's Yeti. No idea if it worked or not as I was about four decks above the car.

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
MkII Fabias are awful when it's raining. Opening the window more the a few mm and the water pours in.

the truth about electric cars
OMG this is terrifying about electric vehicles. Just look at this. Five hybrids and two full EV burning. Obviously it's battery relat.... Oh. Dodgy car transporter. https://www.tag24.de/thema/feuerwehreinsatz-heute/flammen-inferno-auf-a5-bei-lahr-brandneue-autos-auf-transporter-brennen-lichterloh-2971731

the truth about electric cars
That's exactly how small residential streets/ roads with traffic calming (and not necessarily Cul-de-Sacs) are here in Germany. As you enter you'll have a blue sign informing you there may be children playing in the street. Max speed is walking pace IIRC. As you leave the sign below will have a red diagonal line through it to inform you that you're leaving the zone. We live in one and it's no big deal.

the truth about electric cars
Yes, well aware thanks but last I read the other week in the Times it was 'up to' £4 for cars.
-
the truth about electric cars
Oh I'm well aware of them. TBH I don't think that done correctly having your basic needs within walking distance is a bad idea either. I'm also aware that too many folk out there seem to think it's some conspiracy to control the masses and keep them fenced in and surveilled. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/15-minute-city-conspiracy-theory-essex-county-council-1.6808005

the truth about electric cars
Roads in the UK are not the domain of road vehicles and never have been. (Motorways excluded) Pedestrians have priority. This isn't anything new. Fifteen minute cities? What YouTube rabbit holes have you fallen into?

Pedestrians have priority. A rule which too many folk seem to have forgotten.
