Limited slip diff into 7 speed DQ200
The MK2 vRS has XDS as standard and in the OP,s previous post on how to identify which gearbox are the threads on the available settings. As it is on track it disabled it,s self when the brakes over heats. You can adjust to suit, or turn it off. Anyone looking at the above posts needs to remember there are the early settings and later ones as the op,s car with a cthe engine has. The TC button needs a Press, and Holding in second. That just stops the brakes nipping on with wheel spin from the off. As the owners manual tells, use when getting the car out of snow, or when snow chains fitted. Or when you want wheel spin. Owners manual does not say last bit.

UK Public Charger Network & price increases as they are announced. Please post here as you become aware of any changes in the costs.
As it is with ICE vehicles HMRC should be aware of vehicles business milage, cost of purchases and per mile to maintain and fuel ⛽ / charge. The hybrid kidology was picked up on, so should inefficient EV,s be. As it is buying and running EV,s and then selling on used can be a financial gain and not a loss. But then if replacing costs more as they might well be now, and finance costs are higher, swings and roundabouts.

EV real world range and cost to charge
There is a lot of very over inflated tyres doing on on southern roads with less grippy surfaces. Less suited to wet and cold weather. Cars with drivers paying attention to efficient driving. Passengers in EV,s and chatting or on the phone and driving and getting places sometimes gives different energy use, but not always worse. In that video I would have had the cars that where dropped just tailing on to see if first lap results improved. Winter tyres, all season tyres and pressures matter lots. I would rather have the tyres I have in bad weather than ECO aquaplaners. / Ditch finders.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Yesterday on motorway at 10*oC I got 3.1 mile kWh. Edinburgh diversion gridlock 45 minutes to do 10 miles and 4 5 miles per kWh. Then later it was 5*oC and pouring rain and 100 miles took 2 hours and I got 2.7 miles per kWh. 5 miles per kWh is a wish and a dream.

The VAT on the electric is a good way of getting in money as the EV,s are not bringing in VED to the treasury / public purse. But then business users are getting VAT back from charging at Public Chargers. Time to TAX big fat EV,s,. The big road taking up space ones, that are really really not necessary in many cases as company cars. Company cars can well be mile crunchers and efficient without being the size and weight of an elephant. It is a case of needing a Prestige Tax or just have the VAT as is. Maybe put a FAT tax on EV,s. Just because they take up EV charging bay door opening space.

Remapping on a stock clutch
Ps. I thought common sense told people in the UK that you buy a car with 150 ps or 245 ps as a maximum, and a Nm figure and it comes in a tax band and insurance band that is not max output, it is the Minimum. That is a figure on 95 Ron. You are never in the UK going to drive below sea level, or higher than 3,500 feet above, or in temps above 45*oC of below -35. Or on lower octane than 95 Ron. So basically you get what you pay for and more. Sometimes more than VW or Audi get from the same engines compared to a cheaper Skoda or Seat.

Remapping on a stock clutch
I do wish those buying fuel bothered to find out what they get. ESSO filling stations in much of the UK are supplied by Greenergy who supply Tesco fuels and produced Momentum 99. Greenergy part owned by Tesco. Greenergy partner with Royal Dutch Shell for importing and storing base fuels. As the chart up the section shows with ESSO. Ethanol content not equal around the UK. The TSI,s love the Ethanol, and the higher Octane. If you go abroad you might know how good 100+/ 102 Ron is. Or if you buy track petrol.

Remapping on a stock clutch
The difference between summer and winter petrol is the Winter is less hygroscopic. But the important things is it meets the Min Octane which is always the case. Eg ron min E5, 97 or 99 min. So the Ron is the Ron. It can exceed min. The difference is if Greensrgy and Shell have bought in from Europe as is. So later in the winter 100 ron Continental super unleaded. That even happens now,. Super unleaded in Scotland and north of England exceeding min Octane.

Transmission oil change.
First brake fluid change at 3 years and then each 2. You can test brake fluid for H2o. Hardly over the top. Nobody knows if the car is parked at seaside, up a mountain or in a city. There servicing and maintenance is purely recommendations and about having people check cars. Ignore as and when you want. Or check things. Many leave to MOT,s to find faults and never service anything.

Transmission oil change.
There is no DSG that has oil changes by year. There are 40,000 intervals or DQ381,s at 80,000 miles. If anyone has a VW group schedule showing as at 5 years please link in. DQ200 DSG have no oil change schedule, guidelines or recommendations.

Shell Recharge up by 20 pence a kWh. 34% increase I am reading. 85 pence on 150 kW chargers. 79 pence a kWh on a 50 kW. Maybe someone can link properly. Pathetic phone connection here at Edinburgh Airport. Un-bloody believable. Fast charger cut out twice. What use is that at a park and ride,?

CONNECTIVITY AND SATNAV FOR SKODA YETI OUTDOOR 2.0 CR SE BUSINESS 2015
Welcome. You might get help when your post gets moved by a mod to the Yeti Section. If your car is a Euro 6 emission car it is not part of any Diesel Gate / defeat device recall actions. Edit. Sorry, is it a Euro 5? My mistake. Ps. Is there a record of the Haldex being serviced in 2018 and 2021 or now. Or brakes fluid changed?

PodPoint 50kW Rapid, 40 pence a kWh now. Well at the LIDL I was charging at. I went to it instead of Edinburgh park and ride CPS / BP chargers at 35 pence a kWh not knowing of this PodPoint increase until I had charged with 20 kWh. Now at the airport using a fast chargers to top up to 100% @25 pence a kWh.

Oil on the dipstick
Know where the level is cold without the engine started. Top up to Area A when the Engine Oil is at Normal Operating temp. So that is when up above 80*oC, so near to an indicated 90*oC. Do not overfill.. Know where that correct level is when cold so you can check before trips.

Gearbox in emergency mode - no reverse gear
Great advice. It will be interesting who it is assessing that loss of drive can be safe. VW group did claim when the dq200 world wide recall was only some time much later only a service campaign in Europe that you could roll safely to the roadside. Obviously in an outside lane you might well not be able to.

Water pump run off the Cambelt?
Sorry but no I can not confirm because it does not. So no need for the water pump to be replaced. Brucie bonus.

the truth about electric cars
Because TESLA Drivers without free Tesla Supercharging will not pay when they can charge free @ CPS chargers. Neither would i if i had a TESLA. What is annoying is how long they will leave them on a Rapid but that is not only TESLAS doing that. No time limit.. There will be money to pay to charge at CPS Chargers in Perth & Kinross from the Jan 2023, but that will still be cheaper than the Super Chargers.

Remapping on a stock clutch
Filling stations your way will be getting Winter Formulation Petrol delivered from this week. You have enough available power for trucking about but you should try Tesco Momentum 99. It can be 100 ron / 100+ as it comes in. The Ethanol is lovely and detergents are not necessary. As it is the Shell V-Power & the Momentum can come in as the same base fuel, but sometimes it comes in from Continental Europe mixed and is lovely stuff.

@StevesTruck Have you lost your crayons? Use your brains now because it is never going to happen that the UK will be environmentally friendly. Grow your own food and make your own energy. Start with making your own ethanol from potatoes & veg you grow, I will just continue to stay in a resource rich north and use what i need and not care too much about the environment as long as i am OK because others are just wasting resources. I like 'Much Cheapness' and poking a stick at those stupid enough to to not use the brains they were born with.

Gearbox in emergency mode - no reverse gear
@Ranger Not safe. maybe the Dealer Principal can drive your car for a few weeks and you can get the one they are driving which will be sold as an Ex Management cars. They will no doubt feel safe taking their loved ones out in your car. ? Was that the top man or woman as in the Dealer Principal, or was it a Service Desk person that are not Mechanical Engineers or was that the Master Tech that spoke to you. If they say it is OK to drive then if it breaks you have the Warranty, but then any verbals from them are not worth the paper it was not written down on. Best get onto Skoda Assist and get a Courtesy Car arranged, or have the Dealerships Top Person put in writing what you have been told.

http://gridwatch.co.uk In 2020 17.1% of England's total Electricity consumption came from Scotland. A country that has only 8% of the population. That was just the Electricity, there is the Gas & Oil as well to take into account. http://yes.scot/renewables-powerhouse We know it is not how the National Grid works. But seeing as the 1 nuclear plant can produce 3/4 of all the needs for homes in Scotland and then Scotland produces many times more than it needs for Homes, Business & Industry and lots of that is exported even abroad to be sold cheaper than in the UK that is worth considering. Scotland does on occasion require the National Grid to boost energy to Scotland, that is while energy is on its way out to France & Ireland that is how the contracts work.. That is bringing in energy at a higher price than the energy going out. The Pumped Hydro is used at peak times and keeps the lights on down south and then the water needs pumped back up. The Wind Farms are paid often to not generate electricity while expensive electricity is Imported because there are contracts requiring the National Grid a non UK Company to import from abroad. ...................... The Solar at charging hubs like Stirling would not produce enough electricity if the chargers were all being used, but so far i have yet to see even a 1/4 occupied, and with the battery storage the electricity is there only needing more from the many wind farms in the area. More of these type of hubs should have wind turbines on site and these are going up in places. Scotland has under 6 million people & producing enough energy and extra is pretty easy with so much land and sea. Lots of the Energy Produced is not for the general population, it is for Industry. The high polluters in Scotland including the Oil & Gas industry. That is produce fuels for transportation, road, rail, sea and air. http://enough.scot/2022/10/05/scotlands-top-20-polluters That industry is important, it is jobs and taxes and revenue Scotland needs, but that the treasury gets first. So as far as Green Energy in Scotland there is many many more times what the population of Scotland requires, and more every year.
