  1. That fuse is only there if the car doesn't have A/C as far as I recall from a recent thread on a car that didn't. I'll look at circuits when I get a chance, to give you some testing ideas for the fan.
  2. Read/photograph it off the base of the windscreen when you get there and PM it to me, I can look it up.
  3. I think that's probably a correct filter, but if you'd like to message me with your VIN I can check more thoroughly. I think @xman is probably the better fella to guide you through checking whether the 'seal error' has been made by the person fitting it. I've read about the issue but never had hands-on experience of this engine.
  4. Isn't this the engine type where a carelessly replaced oil filter ends up with an old seal stuck and duplicated when the new filter goes on? Leading to low oil pressure. Not sure why it's not triggering a warning, but maybe not quite low enough? Did the noisiness start shortly after an oil service? When was the last oil service? What exact oil was used? What part number of filter?
  5. Yes, I think all use wheel speed info.
  6. Probably one of the wheel speed/ABS sensors starting to give duff info from time to time. Scan for stored fault codes.
  7. Fronts tend to never be on there. PM your VIN to me and I can tell you.
  8. I reckon about 9 out of 10 'sensor faults' turn out to be wiring failures/damage on Skodas.
  9. Red/grey from pin 1 of sensor connector finishes at engine ECU pin 52, brown /grey from pin 2 goes to ECU pin 53.
  10. Circuit diagrams say brown/grey, and red/grey are the two wires for G62. I think that could be what's in your picture, yes.
  11. @Thompa021 I think it's 044103499B £5.51 + VAT from your friendly local Skoda parts counter. Likely to need ordering in! Compare google image results for this number and what you have removed.
  12. Yes, if the wiring is all intact.
  13. Pump only. Is this the original pump or a replacement?
  14. Cabin fuse 16, I think; but that is shared with a few other things that you would know were not working if it had failed.
  15. Have you fitted the replacement pump yet? Wiring fault is always a possibility for no comms, either the CAN pair or the ignition switched feed on the same 4-way connector (or the fuse for that feed, though often shared with other functions. I am in a car (not driving!) just now, not sure if I can look at circuits to say what fuse, but will try.
  16. To get the head off, the timing cover has to come off. To get that off the sump has to come off. Sealant gaskets everywhere except head/block. Pain to work on. Been there. Far rather swap an engine in.
  17. You've never worked on one of these engines, have you sep? Not way easier at all. Especially if you did a 'heart and lung' transplant by sourcing an engine still bolted up to gearbox. Comparative quotes worth getting though, perhaps.
  18. Goes to the stub on the side of the EGR, via a flexible rubber hose that pushes onto a spigot just near the serpent mouth end of the narrow one in your pic.
  19. I guess you mean the narrow one, not the fat serpent? Isn't it a filtered feed to the EGR valve?
  20. Yes, I got lucky with a secondhand engine from a breakers. Was under £300 delivered too, which is a chunk less than the norm. Fitting isn't too bad, especially if done in professional facilities by experienced people with all the right tools. Took me 2 full days out and in, but I am pretty old and slow and don't have any of those things just mentioned. Ideally you'd hear the candidate engine running prior to removal at their end.
  21. Pre-VAT price looks to be in the ballpark of £360 genuine, but aftermarket alternatives probably exist that are considerably cheaper. May not be bad enough to deserve replacement to be honest. Another MOT tester may not have even mentioned it.
  22. Cost to replace will depend where you get the part from, whether it is new or 2nd hand, and your local labour rates. If you want to know part price for genuine new from skoda, message me your VIN. (Or just phone your local dealership parts counter, obviously).
  23. The oil separator on the back of the engine block tends to be neglected on this engine family. Good oil quality is about what you put in, but also how it is looked after by the engine lubrication system as a whole. This separator is part of that system, with the crankcase ventilation valve being part of it.
