AnnoyingPentium's 2006 Fabia 1.2 12v Ambiente-ish
Any electrical misbehaviour may well relate to that dodgy earth cable/connection going to the strut top.

Question about the fresh and recirculated air flap motor (2-wire V154 w/o position potmeter / J251) - Skoda Fabia MK1 2001
Hmm, I didn't know that version existed. I suppose it just drives the motor until it stalls at each movement extreme, sensing the supplied current via voltage across a shunt. Maybe with broken cog this is just more noticeable than usual? It never 'knows' where it is, it just drives quietly to fully open when ignition current first arrives via fuse 12? If it's already at this position and the cogs are intact, you'll not really hear or notice any movement, but with damaged mechanics it's more obvious?

Good bye Skoda, old friend.
Sorry to hear you are moving on, but hope the new car serves you very well. Your kind help on many occasions with MOT related questions was much appreciated.

I think this is the right part number. Volkswagen / Audi / Seat / Skoda Protective Cap 6R0915429 - LLLParts Any Skoda dealership parts counter should be able to order one in for you at about the price shown there

Front wheel bearings
@Len1 quick question that probably should have preceded everything else I wrote; why are you thinking of replacing the front wheel bearings?

Front wheel bearings
Really need to eyeball a front brake caliper. If you jave alloys you may be able to see through a gap?

Rapid 2016 1.2 oil got into coolant
That's great news, but a bit surprising that it failed so 'young'.

Transmission drain plug
It is odd. Personally, I've only ever seen the simple female hex versions, but not looked at many Fabia boxes. It would be nice if the OP would get back to us with an update; are you still there @RoverP4?

Front wheel bearings
Hub flange diameter is 6mm smaller on the ones for 239mm brakes, so presumably the 'standard' 6Q0407621BR one won't fit those discs. I've only just found what's different. Please note: it's also very important that the correct tooling is used to install these bearings. Ensure that whoever is doing the job knows about "Gen2" tooling, and doesn't just press it in by the hub flange face. Damage to bearings and/or ABS faults result from failing to understand this. Repeating the job is expensive.

Front wheel bearings
According to ETKA there are 4 different front wheel bearing types that may be fitted to a 2006 mk1 Fabia; item 8 here LLLParts The things that distinguish them are as follows:- top one, smaller (66mm) for cars without power steering, (PAS), none in UK market, I think. Next one 6Q0407621BR suits cars with PAS, ABS and 256mm (or 288mm) front brakes; third one 6R0407621F suits cars (some of the 1.2 engined ones) with PAS, 239mm front discs but without ABS; last one 6Q0407621CB suits cars with PAS, 239mm front discs (some of the 1.2l cars) and ABS. Do you know what size your front brake discs are? 256mm discs have calipers with "FS III" stamped clearly in the outer face: Presumably it has both power steering and ABS?

Wheel bearing replaced now Abs light on
Ask your garage to show you what they used to fit it, and then explain how they didn't do it right if they don't show you the gen2 tooling. (e.g. Sealey VS7029 Front Wheel Bearing GEN2 Removal/Installation Kit 72mm 5051747698451 | eBay) I expect it hasn't been fully inserted because it's hard to do so if pressing on the wrong part, or they've broken the ABS sensor, or both. Pressing in by the hub face is also very likely to damage the bearings themselves, as the force is being transmitted through them.

Wheel bearing replaced now Abs light on
Yes, you need 'Gen2' tooling to get in behind the hub face to press it in by the bearing outer, which isn't what happens if you just push the hub face. Hatboy Harvey has a video on this, along with lots of others on YouTube if you search gen2, I think.

Rapid 2016 1.2 oil got into coolant
You'll need to be more specific about the engine. There appears to be 5 possible 1.2 engines that you might have: Škoda Rapid (2012) - Wikipedia At least one of those has an oil cooler near the oil filter (item 13 here): LLLParts Is the car losing coolant?

AnnoyingPentium's 2006 Fabia 1.2 12v Ambiente-ish
No date-code I can make out there, and no sign of a VAG part number either which there would be if OEM.

AnnoyingPentium's 2006 Fabia 1.2 12v Ambiente-ish
Just noticed the improvised earth connection on the strut tower. You did scrape away paint down to bare steel under that crimp terminal before screwing that down, right? That'll be making a poor connection otherwise, as that screw is going into a threaded insert in the rubber top-mount, not some nice conductive material.
