  1. It's as I thought. Would also be a feed to the mirror heaters if fitted. Feeds 12V to pin 2 of the 6-way connector at drivers window module.
  2. I'll check in a minute, but from memory it's an ignition 12V feed that wakes up the drivers side module.
  3. Was fuse 11 one of the ones checked?
  4. Accessing the fault light to obscure it is one possibility... Did the seller have an explanation about how that situation was resolved?
  5. Possible indication that the needles have been taken off, and that one pushed back on too far, so it rubs/catches?
  6. Ask when you get there, and review receipts for the work done following that MOT fail. Have a good look at the brake discs,
  7. Maybe they scanned car to see why light was on, fixed the cause, now all good?
  8. A VCDS autoscan, or simple scan of the HVAC module (08) may indicate a fault with the V68 motor. This controls the flap which chooses whether incoming air is sent through the heater matrix or bypasses it. Giving the flap motor a 'workout' by turning the temperature control from one extreme to the other several times while the system is running. See if that results in any hot air at any time.
  9. If the 20 amp fuse in position 56 has metal contacts accessible to probe while still installed, see if it has 12V on both sides of it when the ignition is switched on.
  10. Maybe someone has obscured it? Do you see the warning light 'self test' as you turn the ignition on?
  11. If your engine is a PD type, the important part of roottoot's chart is circled here: Using any oil that isn't rated to 505 01, or 507 00 will cause rapid cam wear on a PD.
  12. Have you taken the cover off the top of the engine?
  13. I believe your engine has no such clearances, you have hydraulic 'equalising elements', item 8 here: camshaft, valves - Fabia(FAB) [EUROPA 2012 year] (7zap.com)
  14. Underneath the ignition coilpacks.
  15. Fuses 17 (5 amp) and 56 (20 amp). I suspect fuel pump relay if both of those are OK. What year was the car built?
  16. Just 4, and if it was only 2 months back it should be a free warranty job IMO. Possibly a misdiagnosis both times.
  17. Well done fella. Having tried both rebuilding and engine swapping, I'd say swapping in another engine is about a quarter of the difficulty. I was dead lucky to find a very low mileage engine that turned out to be a cracker though, for relatively little cash. Always going to be an element of gambling there.
  18. Another one I can't resist posting:
  19. What year is the car, and does it give you indication of failed bulbs on the instrument cluster?
  20. Only if I'm still around to hear it! 😁 Indeed. Both the food producers and the drug companies would much rather we remained ignorant about the dangers of a high carb diet. It's refreshing to hear a humble sounding doctor stand up to the establishment (with extremely valuable support from his wife acknowledged) and not be afraid of telling the truth.
  21. 1.6 or 1.2 diesel, I assume?
  22. Sounds like you look after yourself pretty well.
  23. You can buy little inline electronic modules that remember the last chosen mode for the next journey. Not too expensive as it's quite an easy thing to do electronically. Doubt this one is model-suitable, but this sort of thing: Automatic Stop Start Engine System Off Device Control Sensor Plug Stop Cancel | eBay
  24. I'll freely admit to not having the slightest idea what maintenance a petrol station tank may or may not require. Also no idea whether the filter is removable and cleanable within one of these new-fangled combined pump/filters, but I doubt it.
