Hello Roger My previous car was an Octavia Estate, albeit a petrol vRS. A very versatile car 👍 Mileage has never bothered me. Service history and overall condition are far more important IMO. I'd far rather buy a high mileage car that's been well looked after, than a low mileage car that hasn't. Gaz

The Sprint Yellow vRS was the first brand new car I'd ever bought. When I saw it had goo rather than a spare, I asked for a spare instead. I got a lot of rhetoric and regurgitated comments, that they couldn't just swap a spare, that goo was the way forward.... blah blah blah and all of it nonsense. I called off the sale as it was a deal breaker for me, and about two minutes later the vRS magically had a spare and all the gubbins to go with it 🙄 They do come up for sale on here from time to time, but there's always some to choose from on well known auction websites 19" - probably best to check on will they fit: https://www.willtheyfit.com to be on the safe side. G

I had to use the space saver on the 220 TSI vRS I had back in 2018. Looking at a photo, I can just make out it was an 18" rim: You can just make out the calliper being quite close to the rim. Gaz

Why not get a soundbar? My QM4 is connected to the TV via the optical link: https://www.whathifi.com/q-acoustics/media-4/review Hearing impaired F-i-L said it was easy to hear. Does your Dad wear hearing aids? - the other option would be a hearing loop to connect his aids to via the 'T' setting. Gaz

I was trying really hard to get my MPG up to 33 as well, but sadly ran out of both time and miles 😢 G

This ^^^^ And this ^^^^ WRT what Marky said, check the T&C's of your warranty to see what is, and what is not, included. Could the boot button be considered 'fair wear and tear'? Possibly, but my view is that you've bought a car from a main dealer, with an extended warranty, an item has failed in the warranty period, so needs to be returned to working order, and if that's by the warranty, then so be it. I'm not sure I fully understand what the £120 is about? Is it a diagnostic fee? The boot button doesn't work - I'd have said that was diagnostics enough 🙄 Is the £120 for an hour's diagnostics? If so, how long will is take them to push a button and suss out it's not working. I also think the clutch issue is something you take back to them, and ask them to remedy the issue, under warranty. Simple as that. Nothing more, nothing less. It'll be the Consumer Rights Act (2015) rather than the Sale of Goods Act, but nevertheless I'm not sure asking you for £120 a pop is reasonable in either circumstance, so I'd suggest having a conversation with Trading Standards/Consumer Direct before going back to the garage, so you're better informed and know where you stand, because take you for a ride they will, if they can. Do you have a sunroof? Rear washer working okay? There should be a drain at the bottom left of the rubber under your fuel filler cap. Shouldn't be causative but worth checking. From the photo, I'd agree, that knock is quite unlikely to have affected the door seals. With the amount of water you describe, I'd be checking the door seals and looking for tell tale signs of water. Maybe sit inside and run a hose over it? Gaz

I'm wondering if the door deal or door card were affected by the impact? Or if the quarter panel moved away from the door seal, even slightly? Are the door drains clear, and water exiting freely? Any water sloshing in the door? Have you any water in the spare wheel well?
