Hello Phil My first foray into Skoda ownership was a V6 Superb (TDI). Smashing car and a great introduction to the brand. I'm unlikely to have a diesel again as I don't do the miles to warrant it. Agree with @Warrior193 - of the 1.4's I've driven, I've been impressed with how sprightly they can be 👍 Test drives a must, to get a feel for what you're driving. Gaz

Mrs Gaz just told me she thinks she's scratched her reversing camera. On going out to check, I don't think it is scratched, just that it's got muck between the lens and plastic cover: I can see, looking online that it's a clip-in unit with no (apparent) screws. What I can't see, nor find the answer to, is whether I can just yank it out, or if I need to get to the other side of the bumper to release the locking tabs. Anyone know which it is please? I have wondered if I can just pop out the round clear plastic lens cover to clean it, but I know my luck if it try. I'm quite happy to buy a new camera if it's a sealed unit, but it's working fine, save for the blurry image. Ta Gaz

No such thing as registration any more, or being a 'registered' disabled person. There were registers, which came about as part of the Disabled Persons Employment Act of 1944. This required Local Authorities (in England - can't vouch for Scotland) to maintain a register of disabled people in that LA area. This is where the old Green Card system came from that you mention. I was 'lucky' enough to have started work when 'reserved employment' was a thing - I could've been a lift operator or car park attendant 🙄. Registering was not mandatory, and the registers themselves were wildly inaccurate (often having 5% or less of those registerable). Without an 'I am not disabled' register, it was recognised that having a register was discriminatory in itself, and the relevant Act(s) were repealed when the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 came in 1996. Registration continued to be recognised until 2001, but is no longer. Curiously, a number of Local Authorities still maintain a register (of disabled people, not disabled 'driver's), when there's no expectation or requirement to do so (there are some people who continue to want their disabled person's 'card'). He's a tad under 6'5" - like me 😁 (Although I was 6'5" 25 years ago, just not now). I was going to suggest an F Type. Thinking about Harry, his Project 7 (or 8 ) might be interesting. Not exactly wafters though. I used to hanker for a 928 S4 GTS, but the last time I drove a 928, the soundtrack was very 'waftable', but I realised I'd gotten over the hankering.
