DVLA inspection after write off repairs
After doing a bit of searching, it seems that's the conclusion that I have come to. As seen as the insurer doesn't cancel the current MOT on a cat-N it's still in force untill it runs out. The insurer did suggest it would need a new MOT, but that was the 3rd parties insurer (who are offering the write-off scenario, as seen as it was a no fault incident on my part), not my insurance provider.

DVLA inspection after write off repairs
Wait so, Quote from website. "Does a Cat N write-off car need a new MOT?" "No, DVLA doesn’t insist category N vehicles have new MOT for driving back on the UK road. However, there is an assumption that the write-off car is no longer roadworthy- therefore, it needs an MOT to drive back." This is contradictory. Can someone clear this up? If I get a category N write off repaired, that has a current MOT pass, LEGALLY does it need to pass a new MOT test, after repairs? (I will point out at this point that the the car is a write off due to the fact that painting+fitting a new wing will cost more than the valve of the car)

Garages full of Felicia parts (Is it you?)
It's just this seller was, an hour's drive away and I could have put a deal together and got all the parts I needed at the same time. Headlight is already ordered so I can tick that off the list.

Yes, contained usefull information. Thanks.

DVLA inspection after write off repairs
So if I decide to have a vehicle repaired, even after the insurer has declared it a write off, which write off category(s) would require the DVLA to inspect the car after repairs.

Garages full of Felicia parts (Is it you?)
There used to be somebody with parts from about 3 dismantled Felicia's in there garage, who had a listing on eBay which has now disappeared. I seem to remember that they were located in Lancashire, (mabey the Lancaster area) I'll be needing quite a few parts, so if it's you, or you know who it was can you point me in the right direction. Thanks

Pick-up transmission, manual
Yep, different gear ratios, there's a couple of topics here on it If you're asking if they will physically fit, then yes, all the gearbox cases use the same mounting points, and are interchangeable.

Felicia Heating Up and Not Starting When Hot
Having not worked on a diesel, I can't be too much help. But you could try spraying some easy start gas into the intake when hot cranking without the glow plugs operating situation to see if it will start then.

New sensor could be faulty, the cheap Chinese ones can go kaput real quick. You could cross check with a laser thermometer pointed at the top hose that the new sensor is giving correct readings. The sensor has 2 circuits, 1 supplies temp info to the diesel ECU, the other supplies info for the dashboard temp gauge. One could be malfunctioning whilst the other is working ok. Also correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the diesel have a auto activated glow plug system that starts when the drivers door is opened, but cuts out if the door is opened and closed repeatedly to stop the battery being drained of power.- Custom Factory Uprated Spec PU Top Mounts For The Favorit - Felicia Based Vehicles
I've made up a refurbished set of front strut assembles now, but not yet fitted them, so it's not too late to change the mounts. So would be interested. PM sent- Custom Factory Uprated Spec PU Top Mounts For The Favorit - Felicia Based Vehicles
It was just that I have worn through another set of top mounts in 18months and about 5000 miles. I was thinking that I am getting sick of changing them, then I remembered about this topic.- Custom Factory Uprated Spec PU Top Mounts For The Favorit - Felicia Based Vehicles
@Thefeliciahacker Any update on how these are lasting during usage, and over time?- Welding precautions
@J.R. ok, I was just getting worried then that mine wasn't probably fitted. I must admit that there isn't much thickness to the metal of the chassis legs on the felicia, I could see over time them fatiguing and featuring.- Welding precautions
They're plates that go inside the chassis legs? Mine just bolts through with washers on the inside.- Pickup subframe
I'm 99% sure there all the same across all Felicia models, including RHD's, LHD's. If there is a difference it's the steering rack mounting points, but I think this is taken care of by different bush/bracket sizes. Have you tried the blue pick-up on eBay, that is being scraped in Wales?- Welding precautions
Ok, thanks. I was going to do it today, but bad weather seems to have moved in again.- Welding precautions
I'm about to do some welding on my tow bar brackets (whilst on the vehicle) And after reading a few topics in the past, where after having welding preformed on on their cars, people have reported various electrical systems no longer work, I'm just wondering what precautions I should take to stop burning out any wiring. Here's what I'm going to do so far: Disconnect both battery terminals, Disconnect ECU connectors, Keep the welder's ground terminal clamp as close as possible to the area to be welded. Is there anything else I can do to avoid damaging the cars electrical system?- Felicia 1.3 MPI w/ LPG hesistating and unable to accelerate, fouled brand new sparkplug
Possible vacuum leak in the air intake system? (Although I think this would have shown up as a poor emissions on the test) Also is that rust on 3 of the spark plugs, or just some kind of varnish build up?- Code reader/scanner
eBay or ECP, they did not say if they were Chinese or not, but at that price I would say that it is a sound bet that they are Chinese.- Code reader/scanner
You can get one starting from £10-15. Felicia is pretty basic in what error codes are logged and when they are logged. The exact model I bought is an: autel maxscan vag405, an old model but it has no problems reading/resetting codes on the felicia. (I've used it on a few other pre 2009 vehicles as well) I got mine from Gendan, if you fire them off an email with vehicle brand, model, and year, and your needs, as I did they can help select a scanner, and then you could make a decision from there. Off cause if there is an issue with the obd port then no scanner will be any good.- Reset throttle body
If that connector was unplugged whilst the engine was running, won't the ECU have logged an error code? Which will need to be got rid of, before the throttle body can be reset / ECU learn new throttle position?- Throttle body sending me Morse code
First time start up since new engine install? Could just be the ECU learning where the new throttle body's butterfly valve position is. If it keeps doing it, it might need a throttle body reset.- Crankcase breather pipe
It goes into the plastic air inlet pipe that fits to the throttle body. Has your Haynes manual arrived yet? There is a diagram in chapter 4B, section 2.- Felicia pcv valve ?
Yes. On the 1600 there might be a filter inside this box, i'm not 100% on this, because I have never seen inside one off them, and there is no way off looking inside of one without destroying it. - Felicia Heating Up and Not Starting When Hot
