I'm new & my vRS is making funny noise's

Featured Replies

Hi, my name is Vikki, I have a Fabia vRS, nothing done yet as I dont want to upset the warrenty/insurance. But as the start of the thread says its making funny noises. When I reverse/turn full circle it somethimes makes a "grinding" noise. Cant work out if its from the front or rear. It only does this every now and again. Its booked into the dealers on Fri but if they cant find it then any clues as to what to look for? Cheers, Vikki

Hiya... Welcome to Briskoda :)

Does your car grind constantly, or just for a second shortly after you start it?

heres a few ideas for ya.....

if its just for a second after the car has started and has moved a few metres, its probably the ABS testing itself...

another common problem is the back brakes can bind and groan/grind when reversing... there is no known cure for this yet, but VAG are allegedly working on something as it affects polos, ibizas, A2s and A3s too.

Hope some of this helps :)

Leave them alone, Jon. Most of them are MUCH younger than you are. :nono:

Welcome to Briskoda, Vikki. Jon (TaviaRS) hasn't quite been himself since he started filling up with diesel instead of petrol. ;)

Dont worry Denis, I bet Jon wears the girls gloves when filling at the smelly pump...us real men just risk dirty hands :(

No Andy, I get a little man to do it for me :D

Must admit since Top Gear, more "boys" have a go, yet to be beaten by a Saxo, boyfriend has a go everynow & again in his kit car but his engine is knacked so hes easy to beat (for now, hes fitting a supercharger with 3.9fd, hmmm) but yet to see a female in a vRS!

Pleeeeeeeeease let's not have this thread degenerate and force Adrian to move it into the *cough* "lounge" forum

Xavier, Xavier, Xavier...........tut, tut.....you know as well as I do that this ain't going to happen.....wait till Col_G, Jason (Dev) and Jon (Fabooka) see we have another female member. ;) Hmmmm...just noticed that these are also Fabia owners.....obviously not something we Octy owners would stoop to....

Not to worry Vikki...they are mainly harmless and all is in good jest. :D

Nice one Tom. Will mention this when mine goes in for it's 1st service shortly. Got to be a dust build up problem  p'raps.

Jet washed the rear callipers on sunday, and it seems to have stopped groaning now, but expecting it to return soon. :(
