I was 25 just took a new job which gave a car allowance (basically a free car) so i bought the cr tdi hatch dsg on a PCP deal spankers when the DSG was first available in the vRS with the CR engine. had it a 13 months now and its great. I already imagine getting a FL or vRS 3 in 2 years time when the deal is up

no better car for its size, features and price in my eyes.

Had golfs through my 20s.

Decided my modified VR6 wasn't really family friendly enough now I have a little man to drive around, so my '06 vRS is my attempt at a compromise

Still got the fun factor when required, but now some ncap stars, a refined ride, and a colossal boot for the tons of child paraphenalia!

One thing I need to do though, is get rid of the Bridgestone Potenzas that have been on the car since I got it last September.

I have discovered that they are awful in the wet or ice. Truly awful.

Aside from those, I am loving the vRS !!

I picked up my Mk 2 2006 petrol vRS just before Christmas, trading in my trusty diesel Superb. The difference is not as much as you might expect. I drove steadily in the Superb because its a lazy person's car with relaxed movement between the gears and easy pulling from a strong engine. I'm pleased that, if I choose to, I can drive the vRS nearly as sedately as the Superb. The difference is that when I need to I can drive the vRS as if I were an eager 18 year old again. I'm a youthful 58. In the vRS I'm enjoying the choice of chilled out driving or pinned back in your seat driving. It's a nice choice to have!

I've been driving since 1970, so you can work out that I'm 57. New VRS TFSI in December, have yet to drive it on a road that isn't covered in snow so can form no judgement of it,other than it seems well built and it slides! When younger had Capri's, eventually a new 2.8 Injection Special, two Escort RS 2000's, two Sierra XR4x4's (could do with one now) until family/company car/etc put a halt to such fun. Had a succession of dull stuff,Toyota's, Focus. Thought life is too short, started to look for a used VRS, petrol estate hard to find so bought a new one. Can't wait for it to thaw.

I was 24 when i bought my MK2 VRS in TDI ... now got Superb II and im trying to exchange it :p as i found VRS LE in my local dealer shop :p ....

29 when I got my CR earlier this year 30 now.

The boss took a bit of convincing to buy it (company car)

He was bothered about the depreciation, which is better than most

I would rather sell on a vrs than a mondeo or insignia. (Why do Vauxhall make everything out of that funny rubbery plastic!)

A guy at work got a 130bhp SRi Nav Insignia and it is ok if you had a Vectra

I'm 36, although I almost succumbed when I was 29 but ended up with a SEAT then....
