  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

You can stand and learn! Let me know and I will bring some tools and things that might be needed.

Spent half an hour examining the rear end again to make sure the fiesta that bumped into me yesterday from behind really did not do any damage. To relief could not find any evidence of damage; not even a scratch. It was a very slight contact in fact did not realise the car had been hit at first. Also had to examine the nearside because something came flying across the M2 (bit of debrey from a previous accident I think) and also made some contact. it was an eventful journey but no damage, could do without it though.

All I used is a piggy back fuse and cut the cig lighter bit off the wire, then spliced it in to the live from the fuse and just used one of THESE the rest of the job is to just feed the wire around the car to reach the fuse box from the camera

Cheers, i'll get some ordered.

Are you in Reigate or Stourbridge? I will be going to Kidderminster in a week or so and could meet up there if it is possible for both us?

Reigate for majority of my time but go back home to Stourbridge some weekends. I'm going back next weekend but won't then go back for a few weeks.

ok, forget that, I will be there mid week, we can wait until CC.

New timing belt, tensioner, roller and expansion tank. Oil and filter service, oh the joys!

Seems to be running more quietly now, weird. Wonder if it's because I only used original equipment?

Ah well, onwards and upwards.

Crap pic but it was about 1cm across.

Discovered that most likely the turbo is blown. This could get expensive... :wall:

Cleaned the glass on my Octavia vRS and Alan's VW Passat R36 with Isopropyl Alcohol (Neat) and applied a coat of Gtechnik G5 Rain repellent

Had a little service Oil n Filter along with Fuel filter.

And made sure to put some copper slip on the alloys :)

******s. Despise 'people' who do that more than car thieves. the most expensive damage I have suffered to cars in 35 years has been from keying. Hope it was not too many panels. --------------I traced the annoying knocking noise whenever I don't have a passenger. Someone must have moved the passenger seat back recently and it revealed the seat belt buckle constantly banging against the door pillar. Why did I not think of that?

They did a great job. Keyed, drivers wing, drivers door, rear drivers door and above the petrol cap.

Gutted.
