  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Fitted new freshly modded Brembo 350mm discs and DS2500s. Squealing like a mofo at the moment. Need to take it out tomorrow and find somewhere to bed them in.

Cleaned and hoovered the inside. Hopefully going to get round the in laws to use their facilities later to clean the outside. Tempted to use the Collinite 845 for the first time.

Don't apply too thick or leave it on too long, it sets like concrete. I'm a big fan of 476s but not 845.

Anyway, today I spent £54 topping up the fuel tank, yesterday I washed her after her spending 10 days unwashed, and I ordered a full set of wiper blades.

Cleaned underneath it with my new karcher under body cleaner...looks like new! Then gave the body a quick wash too.

Fixed window on wifes Fabia then hoovered n washed. Not bad for 3 hours work.

Cleaned it today eventually. Managed to use the 845, seemed fairly easy to use. Didn't leave it too long before buffing off just to get the feel for it. Also P1'd the door handles and the scratch on the bonnet (really have to look for it now).

Now for some rain to see the beading to see how effective I was

Took advantage of the first nice day in a while and washed dried, vacuumed and Autoglym SRP'd the Octy.

Not the best of pics, but you get the idea :whew:

Appears someone decided to use my car as a trolley bump stop against drivers side wing, so attempted to polish out the damage, looks better, but still visible.

How typical after having it back for 3 days hah.

Unlucky mate. I hate it when people do that

Filled it with stuff fir a weekend at a wedding in York, popped by Philje123's for some VCDS work and new gateway fitting (and a jump start!) and drove home again. It desperately needs a good wash, the wheels refurbing and the dink pushed out the roof. But the Bolero should go in tonight if i get home in good time!

Booked it in for it's 20k service.

54mpg last night over a 3hr 190 mile journey, averaging 62mph over that time and distance.

That was also quite helpful in comparing supermarket (Asda) diesel on the way down (48mpg over the same distance & time) and then Shell plus Millers on the way back up

Can't complain :)

Washed polished and waxed it then went to fill it up with £50 of bp ultimate

Only going to get worse seeing as Im in the city centre now pretty much though.

Notcied the wing is actually slightly dented rather than just scraped, so that's annoying.

Today though , checked oil and coolant, still all good after 200miles running in, and filled the washer bottle

Took my Felicia for its MoT. Passed, with only a drive shaft gaiter to be replaced. Not bad for an old girl of 16.

Haha. The pannick that set in when you knocked on my door again and said it wouldn't start... my first thought was "oh s***... what have I done!"

Hope you get the Bolero sorted.

Thanks for the ciders! :)

washed and treated with autoglym extra gloss protection

Took it for MOT, failed on rear tyres and cv gaitor :/

Took a picture.

Did 6 hours driving to go look at another Fabia for the folks in law.

Just need to convince the misses to get rid of the focus now for a German car haha.

Haha - probably equal to the panic that set in when I turned the key and nothing.... ;)

Anyway, another very public thanks to Phil for the VCDS stuff!

So, got on and did a few bits today. Did the climate on/off mod which Phil mentioned to me the other day as I was sat in the car waiting for it to warm up this morning. An excellent little freebie mod!

And when I got home, this happened (my little helper just out of shot clutching his Thomas the Tank Engine comic):

Unfortunately only when I'd done it all did I remember I had a CD left in the Stream I took out! Damn, damn, damn! Is there a way to remove it without the faff of pulling the dash apart again?

Anyway, in better news, there doesn't seem to be the dim screen which is found with some Bolero > pre-FL swaps! And the CD changer works with it, something else I'd read is a bit hit and miss. So overall I'm a happy bunny. Next, grill wrapped and get the dinks pulled out the roof (after a proper clean on Sunday).

Over the last few weeks:

- Removed Rear wiper and motor

- Fitted new Canbus and Bolero

- New Foot rest

- New seat leaver inserts.

- Silver VRS tax disc holder.

- Passed MOT

- A years Tax added

- 4 litres of Oil added/replaced.

Clocked 36,000 miles

Just picked it up from my local retired body shop guy after someone went into the side of it a week or so back. Looks amazing. 2 doors had dents pulled and re-sprayed, cill was pulled out into line and re-sprayed and rear wheel arch had dent pulled and re-sprayed. Cill was a bit of work as it has such a definitive shape to it. He had to weld on little rods then pull it out back into shape, buff off the rods fill and smooth to suit. Had it for 2 days. Total = £202.50.

Unbelievable value. £12 per hour he charges and cost price for paint. Says he doesnt mind doing it for cheap as hes retired and its his hobby.

Everyone should know a man like this. Does his work 5 minutes walk from my house. Legend. Cleaned my car as well.
