  • Picked up the new VRS: 2013 Fabia VRS by Graeme_Smith, on Flickr

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

  • modified the cup holder     It's now a hobnob holder

Fitted new wipers, some halfords extreme brilliance +120 bulbs to main beam, and topped up coolant.

Need to get headlights aligned next, but sisters car needs work first.

Took it to the garage.

It's in for a full service

Fitted a Briskoda tax disc holder - must be good for at least 15 BHP extra

Deleted every "ghost fault" DTC I had. The sensors seem to go crazy in temperatures below -10 Celsius. Lights up like a bloody Christmas tree.

Also, my horn stopped working. Gave a fart like sound and then crapped out. Pardon the pun.

Arranged to pick it up tomorrow, can't wait!

Missed the wee thing on it's 2 weeks away.

Driving through a car park last night, very tired! A tough trolley caught me off guard! I heard it hit the car and bounced off it 3 times, today thankfull with a bit of t cut and some elbow grease its come out :)

Drove through some puddles :D

The back roads round here are very much resembling a rally stage at the moment, with a broken tarmac surface to match :wonder:

Faffed around in the dark (and rain) trying to fit a new rear wiper blade, once it was daylight it took me about 5 seconds… much easier when you can see what you are doing. :giggle:

Yep, experience has told me to wait until daylight for blade changes - been there, done that :)

That, or a headtorch :D

That was my intention, but was running late and thought how hard can it be? very easy in fact once I could see how to release the old one.

Hate to be slightly morbid, but on December 9th, I had a brain hemorrhage in mine. Ok now. :whew:

Picked it up from getting it's engine rebuilt, finally, then ended up driving to Jedburgh for a fish supper for no reason at all.

vRS seems smother than ever, unsurprisingly :giggle: .

  • Checked and topped up the oil
  • Checked tyre pressures
  • Filled up with screenwash
  • Cleaned the inside and outside of the windscreen, and the edge of the wiper blades
  • VCDS scan to check for any issues
  • Reset the SRI with VCDS because it clearly wasn't done at last service

:)

washed, dressed tyres, cleaned glass inside and out, hoovered, shampooed seats, aircon cleaner.

Cleaned it. Removed Octavia and vrs badge from the boot lid.

Oh, and I ordered 2 New key fob badges.

Got it back from the garage, done 100 mile tonight. Went through to Edinburgh & stood in the Krispy Kremes que for over an hour for some donuts lol!

Cleaned and hoovered the inside. Hopefully going to get round the in laws to use their facilities later to clean the outside. Tempted to use the Collinite 845 for the first time.

washed and vacuumed them both! Yeti is covered in tar spots, on every panel! Job for next time it gets washed.

Sent wife down to local tyre place to fit two new tyres to the Superb thanks to the god awful roads in our area

One was a 6 week old Bridgestone that was only fitted due to the last tyre getting damaged !!

Then washed my Fabia and found a damaged tyre on that with less than 4000 miles on it :wall:

Was going to fully detail the Fabia but now beer beckons so a quick wash and hoover and down to the tyre place on Monday when the new one comes in

Hoovered it out and stuck on some Briskoda stickers.

Full valet today, engine bay cleaned, exterior de-tared & glued from highway stickers. Polished Panels & windows!

Looking gleaming & now officially ready for its test, hopefully this week coming!

All that's left to do is wire up a few chargers, iPhone & PDA ( taxi radio )

G

Washed, waxed, wheels cleaned to an extent but will probably do them better tomorrow as well as vacuum,

Also moved the tmc box to a more secure and cooler place

Saw my car "in residence" at the garage today, without its turbo.

Look at it was as much as I did....
