  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

  • modified the cup holder     It's now a hobnob holder

Two new tyres on the EST.

8 tyres on 2 cars in less than a year, should be ok now for a while.

Rather, what did someone else do to my skoda... Grrrr

One of the "Little Darlings" from next door somehow managed, whilst riding his bike up their completely empty driveway, to put a whacking great big scratch about 7" long across both the rear and front passengers side door and onto the doorhandle.

I've tried tackling it with a combination of Super Resin Polish, Paint Rennovator and even T-Cut Color Fast, but as i feared, all this has done is made it less obvious from a distance. Upon closer inspection he also appears to have put a very small dent in the front passenger panel, and cracked a small area of paint on both the front and rear door panel.

I'm absoloutley fuming, whatsmore the same kid scratched the missuses lease car only a few months back, somehow I managed not to fly completely off the handle though.

I reckon i should call into the bodyshop on the way to work in the morning, pick up a quote, and then pop next door with the good news for them.

:'( :'( :'(

After being really careful where I park in the multi story car park (will climb 5-6 floors to get the right space with no-one either side) coming out yesterday I hit the kerb (more like a mountain) going through the barriers. They needed a refurb anyway but the damage (previous owner) wasn't anywhere near this bad

absolutely gutted

 Ouch my wife jokes we might as well catch a bus as I park so far away :dull:

Thankfully it hasn't taken out any chunks so should be quite easy to refurb.

Yesterday.

Renewed the pollen filter.

Washed it.

Replaced the Novero handsfree controller (Warranty). They sent the wrong one though!

The upshot is, Free upgrade, I've got a screen now!emoticon-0148-yes.gif

It could be a lot worse!

I remember walking past the local multi-story a few years ago and a woman had managed to beach her brand new A3 on the high kerb as she pulled out. She must have turned far too early as both front wheels were in the air and it was resting on its sill on the kerb :D

It could be a lot worse!

I'm going to the Shark RR day next week (how embarassing), I was going to get it all spruced up, not much point now :'(

Got the windscreen replaced

Stuck £65 of petrol in it, then had the epiphany that those 5p off per litre vouchers are simply there to encourage people to buy a full tank!

Then used some Duct tape to stick a small piece of the undershield that had cracked and was hanging down, back onto the rest of the surrounding undersheild. Not the techiest of fixed but did the trick and cant be seen, although i think i may have do replace it with Gorilla tape or something for when it gets wet.

Oh, and also booked it into the bodyshop to get both passenger door panels resprayed from where one of the little cretins from next door has ploughes his biked into the door (sorry to bang on about it, but im furious)

Cheers

John Lewis car park? - that exit is really tight!

replaced the coolant temperature sensor, refitted some of the intake that had worked loose, removed the wipers and cleaned 10 years of rotting leaves out of the plenum under the windscreen (removed a lot by hand the loosened the rest and blew it out with a leaf blower :giggle: ), cleaned out the heater fan housing and the pollen filter and then made some leaf grilles for the end of the plenum from alluminium mesh to hopefully stop it filling up again.

No, its the Eire Street Car park exit, I watched a 5series come out of there yesterday and he had to take a really wide line/reverse back then go forward again to get his car upto the exit barrier without catching the kerbs

I picked up some gearbox oil at the local VW dealer the other day, so I decided changed it today (car on 92K miles).

Not too bad a job. Had to pop out and buy a 17mm hex tool to remove drain & fill plugs.

Call'd VW Assistance again to replace the EVAP Purge valve.

Oh and washed it.

I know the one and I know what you mean! I've designed a few car park layouts and reviewed designs done by others and its always something I check. A bad layout like that can not only damage your car but it can affect the throughput and whether people use it again. Trouble is cars have got bigger over time and not everyone designs them to suit!

I agree although I don't think this car park has been open for very long so it should have been thought about. Hey ho, I don't have much choice but to use it as its the only 24/7 carpark around at a reasonable price, much better than leaving it parked in the street on a night (last time I left it outside someone ran over it denting the bonnet & roof)

Bad luck mate. Might be worth dropping them a line, even just to point out there's an issue. Least they might look at modifying it?

Shame about the bumper too? Is the mark that deep? Looks like transfer from the photo - you reckon it could be polished out?

They car park attendants were stood next to the exit when it happened, they just said I could fill in a form although nothing has been done about the other people who have kerbed their wheels.

The bumper will probably polish out to a certain degree, there are 2 long/deep scratches that run through it :'( .

What did I do today? Put my car on the RR @ Shark Performance, was a shame you couldn't make it Steve.
