  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Nothing major to mine except giving it a clean.

Car still looks sorry for itself with damaged sideskirt and broken bumper bracket :(

Looks great mate (apart from the bumper ;)).

That ride height makes the OEM 16s look bigger too :)

Thanks Steve !

Awaiting a quote for repair on the bumper !

I was tempted to lower the front a touch, to bring it in line with the rear but i fear i need to raise it.

As much as it looks ok low, it does nothing for the handling !

WHAT?! You mean dropping it on its @rse has not worked wonders in the twisties?

Shock horror :p

Ah but for the joys of suspension component design and spring/damper compliance, a topic that's all but vanished from the Fabia I section...

Who would've known.......... ;)

Lynsey's old Oct'y sailed through it's MOT with no advisories today

As for the new style MOT cert, looks like a plain bit of A4 with a basic print on it.

Snow foamed, washed, wiped and hoovered both cars in 2 1/2 hours :o

Fecking knackered!! :D

Cleaned the mk1 today, now it's raining

Just ordered winter boots for mine

Dunlop Winter Sport 4D x 4

I don't intend to do masses of winter driving, but you *never* know when you might need to go out there.

I'm not far off needing new tyres on the front anyway, so might as well get 4 winter tyres and stick my summers in the shed.

Where did you go for them?

Upgraded my canbus to stop battery drain when I get my Columbus  unfortunatly as SWMBO is on a training course I have the boys and due to lack of sleep (working nights last night) I'm not 100% and forgot to turn off Headlights & Aircon whilst doing the work and keeping the boys entertained.

I now have a flat battery and the car wont start  & to make matters worse I parked on the lawn today to allow SWMBO out and I'm watching the car sink into the lawn now

Guess the car will now stay there until I can goto Halfords tomorrow in SWMBO's car to buy some jump leads and a tow rope

Matthew

Washed it. It's sunny, afterall!

Washed the Sport today, now nice and shiny

Walked into the next village and bought a set of Jump Leads :giggle: Jump started the car and went for a blast B)

Fitted my Columbus HU  ..

For anyone interested on how easy it is to fit, I've just fitted mine in the dark using a torch for light :giggle:

Winter prepped the Octi vRS B)

Foamed, alloys cleaned, rinsed, washed, number plates removed, clay barred, wiped, 1 coat of Zaino z5 polish, 2 coats of Colli 915 wax, wheel nut covers removed, alloys waxed, tyres dressed, alloy wax removed, wheel nut covers replaced, Z8 seal wipe down, number plates replaced, glass cleaned, interior trim cleaned with AG vynal and rubber care and carpets hoovered.

Leather clean for the seats tomorrow ;) It got dark :giggle:

Fitted HEKO wind deflectors to the Roomster B)

Leather trim done, glass on the inside re-done, tyre pressures checked and done and SWMBO's Ferbi vRS booked in for its 1st service.

Cleaned the shiny steering wheel, used razeglaze leather cleaner and then tried some raceglaze leather balm on it. Not sure its the right thing for steering wheels or not. :D Waiting for it to dry.

Will do the whole interior next. :smirk:

Toothpaste is good for removing the shine

Clayed with meguiars and waxed with Poorboys last night. New coil packs fitted today FOC :)

Finally bothered to wire in my second air horn with a relay. Messed about ages ago trying to find a way to mount it, mounted it and left it there. Had to decide between removing and wiring it. That means I have a Stebel Nautilus on the offside, and a Stebel Nautilus Compact nearside (stock horn location). Not yet tested them all in unison but gave the one I was installing a quick blast - made me jump and rang in my ears .

Tried to find if this would be illegal but can't find any mention of a maximum horn volume, and I understand two horns of the same volume means 3db louder - and it seems you can buy single horns of that volume, 118db at 2 metres, anyway.

I was talking to a train driver last week who knows someone who fitted a Train horn to their car, now thats loud :o

:D if you search youtube plenty of videos of people with them installed randomly beeping them to scare people.

Funny as it is that's not the sort of thing I'm aiming for, in fact I rarely use the horn.
