Shame Xavier but glad to hear that you guys escaped without major injury.

(Who is going to be the first after the brakes? :rubchin: )

Sad to hear Xavier glad to hear you both are ok. Are you going to get another or maybe something different?

Can only agree with Huck, sorry to see that Xavier, but happy that you are both OK.

Don't really know what to say mate. I'm just glad you and SWMBO are okay, THAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING... :)

I just hope that you manage to get yourself sorted with the car, looking at the pictures though I think it'll be written off. Salvage what you can from the car and start afresh?

Really sorry to read (and see) that... :(

Glad you're OK, as established on MSN last night, but I think I officially promote you to vice president of IBMA. If that makes you feel any better.

It does sound like your exit was more graceful with a nice slide and dismount off the road, whereas mine was a more brutish "air-time and landing" sort of incident. Either way, it's harsh, but I echo your sentiments about the Asian thing too. :(

I believe this case point #2 of showing how strong these cars are - Look how well the roof held up!

Looking at the way the roof has caved in, you were both quite lucky. I can only guess how you must feel. I would be devestated, but as you did sa, it is only tin at the end of the day. The main thing is that you and your SWMBO are safe and well. You gonna get another vRS then Xavier?

You can rightly now take over the mantle that was jasons!

sod the car,you walked away pretty much intact, thats the important bit, insurance is there for a reason mate , good luck with it ;)

As many have already said, the most important thing is that you are both alive and well and able to look forward to lots more years (and cars) together.

at least you are both ok,as said already thats the most important thing.

well you can now wait for your insurance company to find you a new one of the same spec.

do you have the "Gap Insurance" that the dealers offer at initial purchase?might aid your cause for a new vehicle.

defo a write off!!!!

Happy New year by the way!!!!:D

Xaiver,

You discovered my worse fear...that of somthing odd on the surface of the road...I think you were very very fortunate to walk away.

I personally think the fab's dead as far an insurance company is concerned. Hoever you maybe able to rescue bits ala Jason.

Alsomost aswell timed as Jason who was

The main thing is that you both walked away Xav... but ooh do those pictures make me wince

Hope you are both alright and please don't let it ruin your new year

Xaiver' date='

You discovered my worse fear...that of somthing odd on the surface of the road... [/quote']Yep, I still think that was partially to blame for the sudden snapping out of my back end going around that corner

I personally think the fab's dead as far an insurance company is concerned. Hoever you maybe able to rescue bits ala Jason.

I have to agree now. Looks dead. :( :( Salvage is always an option' date=' but something thats in the hands of the insurance now.

Alsomost aswell timed as Jason who was < 1 mile from destination..but thats the way it goes...

AND was only just a short time into the joys of Jabbasport. The coincidences are racking up :(

That is shocking! Very pleased to see you walked away ok, cant imagin how you feel about your car, but please remember you still have each other, and you both walked away :)

Cheers guys

If it is a write-off which it may well be due to the complications of it being 600 miles away, then I'm after a new car which can only be another fabia vrs.

Having been in the Opel and Fiat, I have to say the furby still represents in my eyes the best value for money and the most solidly built smallish car.

I wonder what the ins co will offer :rubchin: I hate to think I'll get an awful price thanks to Parkers when realistically they sell for a lot more due to demand...

However, I will be very picky. I deffo want xenon lights again and cruise. Whilst cruise can be retrofitted (;)) I'll only consider a factory xenon fit.

And how many furby vrses for sale 2nd hand with xenons? A big fat ZERO :(

So if it's a factory order, I'm without a car for gawdknows how many months :( :(

But will wait like a patient boy who's just thrown his toy (into the ditch)

Oh, and I DID declare the brakes and remap 2 days before the incident if ever they were to dig that deep :)

edit: I also wonder if ESP would have made any difference :rubchin:

Xavier , glad to hear that both of you are OK .

Xav, what can I say that no-one else has ? Pleased you are both OK. As you say a car can be replaced but people can't.

:grouphug:

Sh i tter that mate but glad your both ok. I don't think there's much chance of that being repaired.

Some advice though from experience. If the ins co make you an unrealistic offer (which they will) send them loads of adverts of similar cars both private / trade to 'prove' the market value of yours. I did the same a few years ago and it did make them to re-consider their initial offer.

Glad you are OK Xavier. The car looks like a write-off to me - I can see at least 4 panels damaged including the roof. Not economical to repair, methinks. Usually best to have a new one anyway - the accident damage on the car's history can make a dent in the resale value in the future.

Holy Feck  At least yiz are OK.Regards David

That's 'orrid mate. Glad your both OK though.

Those imortal but true words of Robs come flooding back.."It's only a car"

Truly shocked when I saw the pictures, but as everyone has already said, you two are OK, thats the main thing.

The car can be fixed/replaced. Glad you both are OK.

Regards

Al & Gill

Ahh so you've gone public Xavier.

As i said the other night, like so many others here have also said, the main thing is that you're both unscathed. :)

Alex (WrightyRS) thanks for the tip on quotes and stuff. Will wait to see what insco say.

Other Alex, ell, it's interesting looking at what options are available assuming I am searching for a new motor

Was looking at the ibiza cupra 160. Like the idea of the engine.

What I don't like is the OTT boy-racer looks IMHO. Xenons appear to be unavailable and a whopping group 15 insurance  Oh, and a
