Yeti spotting - result!

Featured Replies

Actually saw two this morning in Bedale, where there was heavy traffic parked up for a car boot sale. Was one of them Mr Grayson's loan car, I wonder?

Silver one with a English reg driving through Newtown last evening.

Lady driver looked perplexed when I flashed and waved!

Becoming quite commonplace in the Calder Valley - saw two different grey ones (both 60 reg) in Halifax on Friday.

Becoming much more common now and losing some exclusivity. Have seen several more around my location in the past week.

I'm in Scotland again. Spotted only three on day one driving from London to Yorkshire and only spotted one yesterday from there to Edinburgh. Will hopefully see more today and over the next four days around Aviemore! (and no I'm not towing a caravan, so won't be holding anyone up!)

still pretty rare in London, although I saw a blue one parked on Farringdon Road yesterday...

Hope you visit my sister's cafe - "Mor" in Glenmore (nr Loch Morlich) - She told me she saw a white yeti yesterday for the first time and told me it was "funky" :giggle: (maybe she was being polite :p )

1500+ miles to the Outer Hebrides and back last week and a few miles from home spotted Aqua Blue one leaving the M62 near Bury so SWMBO and myself decided to have a bet on how many we would see on our trip.

The boss said 6 and I said 8, total 4 including the first one! Rare beasties in Scotland but spotted two travelling in the opposite direction (one towing a gypsy wagon possibly cappuchino)one Steel Grey on our way back between Stirling and Glasgow. But the highlight was parking next to an Aqua blue 4x4 Tdi SE with private plate on the Isle of Barra (population 1000) and I think it may be a local? Is this the most remote SM in the UK? Barra is only 14m to drive round.

Think I've found out where all those muscovado yeti's that TP had spotted at Robert Royce went to live.

They all appear to have landed in Beverley (Hu17).

Drove past 3 in the space of about 10 minutes on Friday morning.

I managed a first this morning, at around 6:45am, to see a Yeti on my commute .....

...... an Aqua Blue TDI 2WD Elegance '10' reg. It joined the A41 Hendon Way southbound at the Brent Cross Flyover and we than tracked together(ish) along the Hendon Way and down the Finchley Road for a way.

A bit too early to be sociable, so sorry I didn't wave; if the driver was anyone reading this.

Whilst on holidays down Devon I saw a White 60 reg diesel 4x4 at the Tesco filling station in Teignmouth on Good Friday evening and a dark blue Yeti heading south on the M5 on our way home this morning. Still a rare breed down south by the look of it. On the way down a Discovery driver came over to us at the services and complimented us on our choice of car, he said he had test driven one and understood now why Yeti owners are always smiling - praise indeed.

Spotted a black Yeti as I was taking my white one on her maiden trip out to Hawes this morning. Think it was just after / before Leyburn. What's the etiquette here? Should I flash my lights and grin like a maniac?

The big problem is that the Roomster looks very similar from the front and there are plenty of those about so I might end up saluting every fifth car on the road!

Flash and wave, with a BIG smile on your face!

Generally catch a glimpse of one most journeys these days.

Out in force last Thursday in fact never seen so many.

Mine plus three others in the car park of Boundary Mills, Colne. One on the way there and one on the way back. Not counting the three at Simpsons the dealers.

Spotted a Yeti parked on the drive of a house on the main road leading into Keswick on one of our many visits due to DofE groups on the hills - very jealous!!

While driving over to Ewood Park yesterday (a vital if nervous 3 points gained!) I saw a grey Yeti parked at the roadside near the Kilnsey trout farm, just before midday. Wonder if it's the same one that I've once seen in the trout farm car park (and also on TV in a shot during the 'Love Thy Neighbour' series set in Grassington)?

And/or is it anyone on here?

I'm racking them up now! In Leyburn this morning at about 10.30, a red SM towing a caravan heading towards Catterick/Richmond. Anyone here?

Help! Am I the only Yeti in Cornwall? Have had mine for 6 weeks and have not seen another on the roads down here!

Treasure your exclusivity!

I bet it wasn't a Tangerine one though!

Over my last 11 days travelling from London to Inverness and everything in between we saw six Yetis on day one going up (nearly all Aqua blue for some reason!), one the next, the same silver one (ST11 ***) parked behind the Aviemore Tesco twice, none the following few days, one Aqua blue one with Annapurnas parked outside a house driving north of Aviemore towards Nethy Bridge and then three driving back to London on the first leg to Yorkshire [And one of these (just outside Edinburgh) was towing a HUGE fishing boat!] and only two on the last leg.

I have also never ever in London or the South East experienced people staring at the car so much! At every single shopping centre we went to there was always someone peering inside the car when we got back to it! Really weird!

lol no it was the same colour as the loaner we had the sky blue colour
