Cheap spending month for me due to buying new discs/pads for the car.

Bought myself a key cover, my chain lock & rear box key are inside that cover :) , not more rattling and potential key marks on the handlebars

Had a bit of time today, so managed to move two bikes from the "new woodstore" into the workshop

Just need to get some time in there to get them back together.

The key cover things a good idea!

After 250 miles of hooning, it turns out my bike is more economical than my car driven like a granny. I was expecting to burn many more crushed dinosaurs this weekend.

Bikes can be the most flexible when it comes to bang for your buck so to speak, another advantage they have over climbing into a prefabricated cage and strapping yourself to it in an arm chair :D

Went for a ride with my dad this morning, London and back. He rode my CB500 and I rode his Bandit 1200 :D felt like I was on a 125 when I rode home lol.

This was my problem coming down from the ZZR1400 :( I have described the Z1000SX as a moped a fair few times in comparison, a bloody nice moped though!

ps. first person to buy a Z1000SX 2010 to 2014 ish give me a nudge, I found something the other day for it.

Wish  could get MPG this good, mine only averages 42, and that's when I'm not hooning it :'(

My vfr only gets about low 40's.

But bloody hell its more fun than taking the car

I'm only getting mid 30's from mine but I ride for enjoyment so it tends to be used well when it's ridden.

Yeah. I could probably get more if i could resist the temptation!

I remember the days of the cg125. About 125mpg was achievable haha. Didnt appreciate it so much at the time!

I used the bike for work a few times recently, rode nice and easy, short shifting etc but then come the weekend/day off it all goes out the window lol.

Actually, I've just sat and worked it out properly, 16 litres before reserve, about 150 miles to a tank so I get about 40mpg every tank near enough. Considering the riding I do thats pretty good really.

As you say though, it's all about the smiles per mile more than the miles per gallon.

Ah see. I only really have one riding mode, and thats hmm progressive.

I struggle with letting anything overtake me whilst on the bike, and i struggle with just going slow in general really. Its just more fun if you open it up a little haha.

This is why i dont get good fuel economy isnt it :(.

I grabbed some bits I could find from last trip out and this is what I got. It's so much nicer being able to pass in places where you couldn't do so safely in a car and don't even need to speed when it's all slow movers!

Vids good! I like the sound!

Its just so easy to pass isnt it. The power and acceleration is instant and soo much less space is required. Cant beat it :).

I could beat it with just about every other bike I have owned though :( but 2 wheels is better than no wheels :D

Spent yesterday morning carefully cleaning my chain while my gardener was

pottering about (I'd forgotten he was coming) I went for a ride down to the coast

a couple of weeks back and had picked up a bit of sand on the chain.

Lubed up with SDOC white chain spray.

Then after my Mrs came back from her CBT take 2 I bogged off out for a ride.

When I got home I took pics after a 40 odd mile bimble so it's not as clean looking

as it was before I started out.

I also gave my new mesh jacket its first run out and was mega impressed, I was actually cold, and that was with

my hi viz vest covering the chest vents up. I lent it to the Mrs for her CBT with the sleeves rolled up so she wouldn't

be as hot as she was last week in her leathers. Have to start looking for one in her size. :)

Its hard to tell just how quick it is on a video. Seems alright to me though aha. :).

Nice vid Fubar, I like the transition from brutal double car dispatches -> pottering past a few pedalists  :p Must get the Drift fitted to my new lid.

Ooo I do like me a clean chain and swingarm

Did a 200ish mile jaunt the other day from Essex to Horam in Kent to wessons bike cafe which was cool lots of old bike from the custom workshop next door,

We then went off in Surrey and Sussex over the downs, we got a little wet and my journey back involved filtering through 26 miles of traffic on the m25 due to a huge crash/fuel spillage just Essex side of the tunnel,

Used the go pro which was good but ran out of battery after a bit!.

I don't often ride with others and despite being good mates with the guys I was out with their riding was interesting! I'm fast they were just erratic and quite slow as a consequence. Never mind nice to get out though

Riding with others can be an absolute ball ache! Touring wise I would never plan to go on a long tour with someone unless I had been out and seen them riding first, some styles just don't mesh at all.  Battery life on my HD Hero2 is a pain and no loop recording so I would have to stop change battery and reformat card to carry on loosing ALL of what was on it. I know a few guys who just turn camera on for going through towns and any higher risk areas for the evidential side.

LOL 'brutal double car dispatches' this was a pile of Sunday drivers where lead vehicles were doing 40-45mph. I'd love to try out a new Drift with all the bells and whistles. With the cyclists the GoPro makes things look further away but one was a crest in road one was a bend in both instances on approach at the NSL the space I would need to give them to pass and hold my speed would have meant a much wider birth (wouldn't buzz a cyclist) but with the crest/bend not going to be far over in the face of something coming the other way which might sudden'y appear and make it a bit sticky :o  One was a lady cyclist!! :D

I agree with the group riding, i often prefer to ride on my own.

You have to know the other persons pace, riding style and trust them enough not to do anything stupid.

The only major down side to riding on own that would worry me is if something went wrong like in the very rural areas I am in and I go off the road, no one would see or know what had happened. If I do not have a phone signal or am unable to physically get at and use it, could be a crap way to slowly die. Don't have to do anything wrong, just takes a deer, fox, badger, horse, sheep, cow, cat, dog, goose, duck, swan, pheasant, peacock, goat or anything to stray into your path at the wrong moment and it can go horribly wrong. Or my personal favourite a big wasp/bee hitting my neck and ending up inside lid going absolutely scaletrix and I am just leaning in on a nice fast bend :o :o

peacocks....... oh I am having flashbacks not hate the things! Growing up on of our neighbours who had a big posh fancy house (talking 15 bedroom 200 year old place) had peacocks and one giant one used to come into your front garden and occasionally the back. :( we moved there when I was about 9 and wend into the garden one day and didn't notice the thing sat perfectly still and was about 1.5 meters away when it took offence to me being there and did it's velociraptor move on me and screamed rather loud and charged forward at me. FML, you would never have seen someone run so fast in your life. The bloody thing used to terrorise me until the stupid big feathered sod got knocked down by a range rover :D

That's why I carry two phones on different networks.

One stays with the bike and one is my day to day phone. But double the chance of finding

a signal so that's handy.

But of course they are only useful if I am not Fubar'd (sorry) up myself. For me riding alone is part

of the appeal. No distractions, alone with my (few) thoughts and getting away from it all.

I had a close call with a dumbass pheasant a few rides back, I missed it by a hairs breadth.
