Very sexy, but a bitch to keep clean?

I'll not be cleaning it...  never been into polishing things under the bonnet. :)

It's being built to drive.

Just so happens that's how they come from KAPS transmissions in the Czech Republic.

Bossfox - you are either certifiable or the sanest man on the planet.

All I can say is please please put plenty of videos of it on youtube as I reckon I will never manage to see it in person.

I was at Jabba yesterday afternoon, picking up my car after having the LSD fitted, and I could have sworn that I saw Luke cuddling that gearbox.......I think he wants it for his very own 1.8T into Clio conversion. Best keep a close eye on him!!

So is this definitely going to be ready for the summer bash at castle coombe?

No.

There is no definitely.

The next Castle Combe bash is only a month or do away, It'll miss that one too.

October will be tight.

Finishing off over winter?

No idea.

Plan is to have it done in 8 weeks... Deadlines in a project like this tend to whizz past.

Agreed, there's only speed on a project like this....and that speed is get it right!

Who's going to map it Richard?

I can recommend R-tech,niki's done a few 1.8T cars with EFR turbos now, getting some big numbers with very little effort as well!

I would suspect that Jabba will be mapping it

a build to this level only has one deadline and that is

when its finished its finished

lol

When a project like this is started I would have thought it would never be finished, always something to be tweaking and doing. I really am looking forward to seeing this car and will be travelling to where ever it is having its first outing.

I was speaking with a guy at NW VW at Tatton Park, he had a MK 1 Golf with a 1.8T conversion but not running anywhere near 450bhp, seems to be a very popular engine for modding does the 1.8T..

I agree with the time lines

when its finished its finished?

why rush something now? something will get missed if its rushed.

Keep the updates coming :)

With a job like this it is silly to try to rush to meet a deadline.

Better to work methodically to the finish than miss something and have something fly off in the wrong direction.

I would also imagine there will be quite a bit of testing and fettling to happen behind closed doors before it gets a public unveiling.
