CitiGo-Go, a Citigo with more Go.

Featured Replies

Would you really want to be seen driving about in that? :wonder:

It's novel, but I think the novelty would wear off pretty quickly myself.

I suppose it's like the special edition Mk2 Fabias (S2000).

I'm like you, I much prefer a wolf in sheep's clothing than the other way round.

hell yes lol

are we there yet??

I'm a bit dissapointed with this thread to be honest, 8 pages of waffle so far, I do wish jabbasport the best of luck with this project however, it won't be easy for them to package all that together, I know how hard it is to get the 20v engines sitting happy with everything plumbed in and working, it was hard enough putting one in a felicia and that has a massive engine bay relatively speaking, over a year on and off it's taken me now so far! I guess this citigo project does prove the point that if you can throw enough money at a specialist anything is possible.. Personally i think I'll stick to playing with scrapyard junk in my own garage rather than paying somebody else to do it... I am keen to see the progress though

So will it be the Jan 2013 or Feb 2013 Maidstone meet that we get to see it ?

lol

99% mad concept cars are built by companies for customers its only the lucky and mad few that have a place to do and the knowledge and time

got to remeber rich runs a large buisness and im sure he will tell you he doesnt get 5 mins for a **** let alone mod a car !!!

without people like rich comissioning cars like this they simply wouldnt be built !!!

8 pages of waffle so far,

Did someone say waffle?

[homer simpson mode] Mmmmmmmm waffle [/homer simpson mode]

Well put Clive.

Even if the car was built now (at an astronomical cost) there would be hardly much track time for it.

Whereas with a project like this, it keeps the costs down and should tie in with March (ish)?

Plus we all wait in anticipation

PB, I think that was a bit harsh, he wasn't having a dig at Boss for it being a cheque book car... even boss himself has said that first line! anything is possible with the right staffing and enough cash lol

im big for my homebrew creations and would rather get my hands dirty than hand someone a lot of cash to do it for me, but we all have our own way of doing things.

- Some dont mod

- Some only do visual mods

- Some only do engine/perfomance mods

- Some do both

- Some DIY

- Some Pay.

At the end of the day its a wicked idea, I personally see it as a car commissioned by BossFox (becuase he has the wonga to do it) but at the end of the day its going to be an wicked car.... and its his toy... hes not getting it done to impress any one..... hes doing it to scratch that ich he has..... of near death

Rich is doing it because he can. Simple as. If I had the time and resources I'd love to do it

Teflontom has by posting a bit of a "dig" at Bossfox the oppertunity too create another 8 pages of waffle....

.....well done sir................ :giggle:

TAXI...!!!!!!!!!.........

PB, I think that was a bit harsh,

It wasn't intended to be that way.

Was supposed to read as comments on the fact that an OP can never control the quality or quantity of posts put in the thread and that not everyone can do this kind of work themselves.

Any offence caused or agro interpreted was unintentional.

Now Rich please go stick a rocket under Jabba ;)

No Worries fella.

And yea...... Like every school kid on the run up to christmas.... HOW MANY SLEEPS TILL ITS HERE???? lol

BossFox should just show this thread to Jabba

If you think this is waffle, try reading one of the Fabia Mk2 project threads :(

Can't wait to see this one through

Richard made it clear at the outset that he would only update as and when something major happened, and he's kept to that - I'm not sure why people keep posting to ask if things have moved on in light of that

As was said, we've had a busy few months with racing commitments(very early mornings, and very late nights) but now the race season is over, the work has started

I myself am not undertaking making this dream a reality, but I'm watching it progress with everyday now.

Theirs been countless hours put into designing and manufacturing engine mounts.

We've got one milestone out of the way with the engine sitting unsupported(hope Richard don't mind me writing this)

Hi JP, Luke told me today the Citigo is now a 1.8t, with the engine sitting correctly on engine mounts, plus a few other bits and bobs like moving a few things to make space and the fact that he has seam welded the chassis mounts as the stock ones are only spot welded...

I know he is taking a few pics so I'll get a few up when they arrive.

Now it's all going on and my VAT inspection is over I'll be visiting more regularly.

I still owe you a blast in the Yellow thing, weather permitting. :)

Get those pics up. Can't wait to see.

When are the tickets for 1st ride going up for auction???

Maybe something for charity could be thrown in there. ;)

It is interesting they felt that those mounts had to be seam welded and spot welding was not enough. Is there any plan for stiffening the whole of the subframe to cope with the additional torque?

Now it's all going on and my VAT inspection is over I'll be visiting more regularly.

Ouch! I can imagine how that has been given I have had to do a fair amount of work in my time to prepare some of our clients for a visit from HMRC.... Feels good when they don't find much though!
