I notice you're in Worcestershire... which dealer did you order from?

Jeff I ordered from redditch but to be very honest I wouldn't buy another car from them I have had too many issues

I visited them to get a test drive when the Octy III was first launched, and when I asked about a part exchange valuation he took all the details and came back with "a couple of grand".

It wasn't just the ridiculously low valuation (50% of book value) but the way he sneered and spoke like he was doing me a favour that put me right off.

Needless to say that once I'd made my mind up to buy one I didn't go back there.

Another local dealer was far more pleasant, but couldn't do better than a £200 discount, and then when I asked about a part-ex they took details and promised me a call back the next day and then forgot.

Another local dealer I visited to ask about a second test drive and was told that they didn't have a 2.0TDI in, but if I tried again in a couple of weeks they might do - no offer to take a number and let me know.

The dealer that I did use matched the 6% discount I'd got on a quote from CarWow and gave an above-book part-ex guaranteed until the car arrives next year so I bought it on the spot.

That's three out of four dealers that I tried that provided an unacceptably poor service.

That's one of the reasons why Skoda have slumped in recent consumer surveys. I can't fault Garland's in Aldershot, always friendly and on first name terms as well, very happy.

My two closest dealers I don't even bother with these days, as service wise particularly they are completely hopeless. Also when it came to ordering the new Octy I contacted 7 dealerships, 3 of which promised to ring back with some figures but a month on I'm still waiting that return call :giggle:

Possible Skoda's global ambitions have led to them taking an of the ball in terms of their traditional markets, resulting in a decline in the level of service they used to offer. Also possible that the statistics people have taken over, as they have with my current profession and reality has been lost in clouds of meaningless data that reflects anything but the true picture of what's happening at the 'coal face'.

Just heard from the dealer that they are expecting delivery tomorrow afternoon and I can pick it up on Friday!

So much for the "hatches to be built from week 45" rumor... :)

I was told that by SUK! Increasingly they don't seem to have a clue tho!

Received my Candy White 1.6 Elegance end of last week. Was a standard order apart from Bluetooth + and Heated Front seats.

Ordered on 16th July so that's a few days over 14 weeks for delivery.

It's probably been mentioned on here tonnes of times but how long does it take from build to reach the dealer? I know Skoda quote up to 4 weeks but how quick is the reality?

Well mine will have taken 3 weeks from build week to delivery to the dealer, my yeti only took a week though!

Been to dealers all as should be will collect saturday

You did order the pink stitching didn't you?

2 weeks

Lol pink no but yellow

And new staff seem much better at dealership !

8 Weeks since order, just spoke to SUK, they have said expect an 18-20 week wait from order date due to lane assist issues.

So after 8 weeks I don't even have a build date, in theory it should be built within the next 2 weeks to make it here for the original promise of December.

Dealer has gone quiet via e-mail (not shocked)

TDi VRS Hatch - race blue, basic sat nav, colour maxidot, blackpack and cruise

A Leon (which will probably be a stock car) is looking more tempting now, even though it wouldn't be my first choice....

Just think about the dealerships (which have been panned by consumers) & then there's the smaller boot/load space.

Yeah - but I just want to point out something which really annoys me. The seat dealer I had been speaking to could get me pretty much the car I wanted (it had more options than I'd originally wanted but meh) within 4 weeks - there was one sat in the UK waiting.

I don't particularly want the Leon, it's a bit dull for my liking and not the car I wanted, but come on, at least they can give me a date when I'd have one!

My dealer just called, car is waiting at customs. Ordered Aug 27th, never got an actual build week, just a delivery week (which was week 48 - end of Nov). So around 2 months from order to delivery, about a month earlier than quoted.

I just lost my build week of 46 due to lack of parts to Front Assist.

Bummer, and no new dates yet. But I really want the FA.

I ordered on 2nd Oct. What's the chance of adding Park Assist delaying my order, because a). I don't want to experience further delay for it - but B).  because SWMBO said "it's a big car to manoeuvre" the other day and I'm balancing between the two!

Do people think the delay would be significant? Don't want to mess with the delivery date!

I spoke to my dealer about adding Winter Pack to mine a few weeks ago, they said "fine" and I paid for it there and then.

Then they got back to me and said that it wasn't possible unless I deleted ACC and they were going to refund my card.

I then phoned SUK the same day and they said to tell the dealer to contact "build support" ( I can't honestly remember the correct name of the department but, I'm sure SUK will confirm the correct details) and they would "force it through on the order".

I told told the dealer and they contacted the right department, Winter Pack was added, won't affect build date, happy bunny :-)

Same thing I did with pano roof. It wasn't even an option on the dealer's system when I ordered. :D

According to the dealer adding PA means FA, so it'd be subject to delays IF I added Park Assist. I asked for an update on when it might appear.

This thread is like therapy!  :wonder:
