After a fair bit of messing about to get my pc running cooler I am now back and folding but a little slower as I have turned down the processor rate as well ....just to make sure

:bump: According to the "top 1000" teams we had the biggest single WU production score total in the team's history - 3380 points - now up to 282 in the rankings! http://statsman.info/folding2stats

I may well leave my PC folding over the christmas holiday ;) Just to maintain my position, you understand.

 A big thankyou to all the members of the folding team, we are 198th on Stanford's site, so well done everyone.

As has been mentioned, it will be harder from now, but the more people we can get involved, and actively folding, the better. It may be harder for some members, as it may not be possible for machines to be left folding over the break, but let's try not to lose too much momentum.

Have a good one!

All the Best

Well I now have 10 PC's folding - mine at home plus 9 at work - they are nothing special - in fact the fastest is a Celeron D of around 1.8ghz - but hey it all helps.

Plus my new works PC arrived today - a 2.8ghz P4 with 512mb - should fold quite nicely - although will have to wait a couple of weeks and make sure it's ok before I install folding on it - don't want the company's it bods coming out and saying that a fault was caused by me installing it.

it seems to calc the 24hr avg on the last 7 days production so it will take 4-5 days for himto show on extreme overclocking... but he has racked up nearly 500 points so far so well done!

I see you're charging along too Paul - at the moment, looks the fastest 24hr average on the team.

I need my quick tower a.s.a.p. My rate has slowed down so much I'm going slower than nearly everyone below me. It predicts a drop of several places within 1 month. Need some help with a new super duper machine. :)

Just a question - i have both machines folding, but on my user stats, it shows only one processor active. Why?

one machine must be pointing to wrong team or wrong member....

I just checked. Both the same user and teamnumber. They are both working flat out now, so as long as they are both folding, I don't suppose it matters really.

I was wondering about that to Jason, but looks like red baron has answered the question :-)

I have dropped a goolie though so am going to go in tomorrow and sort it, I have left them all running on a low priority so I am going to tweak the cpu usage up a bit on them.

the "farm" has cracked the 4 work units I have to my name so far, the home pc is running 336 / 400 and the lappie 224/500. Going to set this celery up today and chuck it in the garage.

If they're not using 99% of CPU, it's just not cricket. ;):D

Mine are both on 100, but its only showing one processor on my stats :(

Sounds a bit silly, but can you see on the folding website every time 1 machine credits a work unit? If you spot one machine finishes a WU and the F@H website (not the overclocking one, the main one) doesn't go up by 1 WU, you need to check the configurations. ;)

Oh, and the team number is 42567, and the ID "Devonutopia" ;) :P But I think even the capitals need checking as the slightest mismatch will post your credits to the "unallocated" team total, which I think is number 1 in the league. :D

Ill check that out, cheers.

Mine are both on 100, but its only showing one processor on my stats :(

Can you check the logs to make sure that both machines are sending the results back? I don't know exactly how to do this on a Windows machine, but the Linux version writes progress data to a file called FAHlog.txt (created in whatever directory F@H is set to run in).

Now I've got a question how did my WU count go from 102 to 270 overnight with no more points scored

If you are seeing a mismatch in the processor info on the main FAH stats, check the log file. As Mike has said its called fahlog.txt in the folder where fah is installed. Double click and it will open in notepad. Make sure the details are correct, for example one of mine shows..

Launch directory: D:\Work\Folding

Service: D:\Work\Folding\fah502-console

Arguments: -svcstart

Launched as a service.

Entered D:\Work\Folding to do work.

[03:08:30] - Ask before connecting: No

[03:08:30] - Use IE connection settings: Yes

[03:08:30] - User name: mannyo1221 (Team 42567)

Its important the details on the user name line are correct, including team number. If one is wrong you will still submit WU's but either to another team or anonymously. If one is wrong, simply reconfigure the client you are using with the correct details.

Dave, according to the fah website you are running 2 cpu's. Details for Taylors Fish and Chips.

For some reason I have now done 963 WU without it adding a single point .....I know for a fact I have only done 102 WU any one got any ideas

[10:09:14] - Writing 6668 bytes of core data to disk...
[10:09:14] ... Done.

At 10:09:09, it starts initialising the workfiles which it will be using.

At 10:09:13, it finishes that and checks that the processor supports SSE instructions (I dunno, something to do with extra fast maths).

At 10:09:14, apparently before it even gets through the first step, it hits a NaN (Not a Number) error. This is usually due to something like an attempt to divide by zero, or the product of two numbers being too large to fit the data field allocated.

It then sends back the results - you should be credited with completing a work unit (albeit with errors), but I'm not sure if you will get any points for it.

If you keep seeing things like this in your logs, the prime suspect has to be memory - or (as it implies there) your processor is on the way out.

I think the best thing is to remove folding altogether. it always did make my PC run hot

Don't fully understand what this is about but signed up anyway.

Nearly finished my 1st WU. but I only have a celeron 2.7 ghz processor on my home laptop - so sorry guys for not being quick enough.
