  • For 23k I'd be in a Cayman.  Not a bleeding Polo.

  • Wow! A bit of a fly on the wall comment in jest has been turned into me supposedly taking the credit for the size of the thread!?! Err...ok...   Just to clarify, I have far more important things to

  • Apologies is this thread is going a bit "off topic", but I'll carry on anyway as there is Golf R content... This is my personal experience of the S3, Golf R and M135i and the respective test drives.

Great but what's the point of having a car of it's driving qualities to do only 5k miles a year. Would have thought average annual mileage is nearer 12 k. How much a month for that.

What is the mileage charge rate above 5k?

Thanks though.

No idea. Was just sent through on an email from osv. Have to call for more info. I'm not interested but putting it out there. I agree 5k is pointless.

Not pointless for everyone, but can see what they're trying to do :)

Suppose it gives them some nice low mileage motors to shift on after the lease, if you keep to that annual limit!

Or a 5k weekend thrashed motor. Could be good I guess, unknown hand back!

I used to do 5-6k a year and always had a similar car. I like my car but just didn't need commuting miles.

Pointless to some but not all

What's your annual now Kenny.

It's still only 8k

That's a fairly comprehensive test.

Nice to see the mighty little Fiesta ST in there at the end, mine ran on rails just a pity about the other bits.

Good result for the R ;)

On the "R" estate, does it not have full led lights on rear cluster or is it just the way the light makes it look in the rear view images?

Looks like it loses the tint on them too.

The estate doesn't have the LEDs :(

The estate was advertised in all info as having LED rear lights.

Now the cluster on the estate is a different shape to the hatch, so that would mean a new cluster.

However I have a funny feeling they "could" have used the existing estate rear cluster but just fitted LED innards & used the existing reflectors. Like on the front LED "U" it is one LED shining into a "U" light tube so you don't see each individual LED, unlike the rear cluster on the GTI, & R hatch which I don't like because it is "old" style & does not match the front LED DRL's............

Well that's a bit pants for such an expensive and range topping car.

Glad I do not neeed the space of an estate.

Not really that big an issue

Same idea as the bmw halos then?

Exactly, I even prefer the new Audi LED strips to the rear clusters on the gti & R.............

Im abit anal about lights too.

I dno why.

Its what makes a car stand out n look smart once the sun goes down.

Spotted my first Golf R Estate this morning, a 65 reg white one. Looks very unassuming, until you see the quad exhaust pipes!

A proper Q Car, even at night.

(Until you are behind it and see the Tail Pipes, and those could even be a VW R-line mock sporty enhancement as they often fit, look sporty, 'that is what the public want!'.)

Any Boy / Girl racer coming behind at some distance during lighting up time does not see Chav rear lights and think i must catch that up and pass it, because it is a GTI / R.
