Picked up my M135i today- gentlemen get your Kleenex ready for some car porn...

That dealer has quite a high asking price really, a dream and a wish considering what the dealer was first asking for Furbytom's M135i.  (that was an Asking Price, not a Selling Price.)

Buyers market on these cars,

not as scarce as hens teeth as the 'Lease Vehicles' start arriving back at dealers as they get to end of lease.

I'm sorely tempted by one of these if the figures work out. My localish dealer has a 13 plate for 24k. Auto, pro nav, h/k sound, cruise with brake, advanced bluetooth and heated seats...exact spec I want.

For that same spec you could get the car brand new so the new LCI (facelift model) for £28,565 and that's before you try and get more money off :)

I really really think i could enjoy a M135i once the prices really drop on used ones.

3-4 year old, 2 previous keepers.  (Maybe 10 drivers, and race rallied and thrashed by the Media.)

But they are pig ugly, even compared to the ugliest cars i have ever owned.

I just see a 'Bread Van' every time i see one, and the sills are disgusting.

I might still own one sometime.

You only live once and i need to die some how, it might as well be in an ugly BMW if it is in a traffic accident.

PS

This was not my work this week modifying the M3's Bodywork. & the Foot Bridge.

Dealer tried to pull as fast one...offered me 2k less for my car than a garage down the road offered me against an 8k car I looked at last week.

Looked at a VXR insignia for a laugh and even the vauxhall dealer offered me more than what the BMW dealer has attempted.

I was offered the book price for my car but that was acceptable as i knew i got everything possible of the new car. I ended up selling my car private for £2000 more than the part ex price so was a win win for me.

1 garage could offer you £5000 for your px and offer you their car for £10000. Another garage could give you £3000 for your car but theirs would be £8000.

Spec I've looked at on a new one

-5 door

-Alpine white

-red leather

-Harman Kardon stereo

-media pack professional

-drivers assistance pack

-heated front seats

Local dealer has quoted £452 a month with no deposit over 48 months with 10k a year. Not taking into account any negative equity in my car. So basically a new deal with me sorting my old one out. This is after me saying I have £1500 deposit but he seems to be ignoring it??

Not sure how that stacks up as carwow don't do BMW anymore and it would be much easier to put it out to the dealers that way.

Monthlies sound a little high. How much discount in cash terms is being taken off the list price? £7000+ is achievable at the moment :-)

I've noticed this too, all the used cars via BMW have shot up in price!

Good job I'm waiting until the end of the year!

Maybe an attempt by BMW to try and prop up used values, or make it appear like they depreciate less. Depreciation is always going to be an issue with the huge discounts they offer. Can have your cake and all that! :-(

Can't comment on their used car sales as never bought used from them. They have always been fantastic to deal with for a new purchase. Pleasure to negotiate with and always happy to cut very competitive deals. The price on my old M135i is bizarre though! I suspect it's due to the strong money they paid for it :-)

I'm sitting in a different dealer as we speak after taking their demo for a spin. Very impressed. Such a capable little car and the noise is addictive!

Let's see what happens when they offer me a tenner for my optima!

560 a month, 47 months including my neg equity. Gfv of £15016. Hmm

Not sure of your equity or deposit but that is very expensive, especially as Golf R leases are still available for around £300 a month.

I was looking at a Audi S5 Quattro S-Tronic at £415 a month.

Seen a 2 door S5 at £259.99+vat / month 9+23 @ 5k.

I had the same engine / gearbox in my last S4, with a stage 1 map it became a bit of a beast ;)

2014 Kia Optima are advertised for sale at £14,000 - £15,000 no idea if the same spec as yours,

but how much was it as a new car?

What is the £560 a month for, for more than 3 1/2 years, a used or new M135I. ?

A lot of money what ever it is. IMO.

My optima was 20k when I bought it at 3 months old. It's a '3' spec so top one. I had no deposit when I bought it hence the serious negative equity.

That figure has been reduced some more since I posted but they are coming back to me tomorrow so we will see. It is a brand new one. Automatic with about 2.5k worth of options on top.

Chris there is a guy on the BabyBMW site known as TRL (Tony). He's the Manager of a London based BMW dealership and shells out M135s for as little as any broker and seems to have 100% good feedback on the site. I'm sure Tom can back that up. If you want discount form a dealer, I would say he is worth a phone call and a small trip down to the smoke. He also once bothered to work out how much the options cost if you are using a PCP. Some items being more popular and having a higher retained value mean they are cheaper than you would think on a PCP. Pop over to BabyBMW and have a look at the site sponsors, you should find him there somewhere.

Thanks Lady E :)

And sorry for clogging up the thread!!

It's Toms thread and I'm sure he is more than happy that your posts are about the M135 :) I still love mine 9 months in and get a sense of the little M-lite being a little bit special every time I press the starter :) It's a car with a lot of character. most good, but as I can testify, it keeps you on your toes :) :)
