Apologies, not been on here much for a while - in the middle of having my house extended.

 

Apparently my car will arrive at the dealers this week or next.  I've not actually enquired where it is but presumably Grimsby judging by the delivery date.

Ordered a vRS today, delivery looks to be somewhere around end of October which suits me as that's when my company car goes back. It's going to be a long wait!

Just had confirmation again this morning that the build week is week 29 so week commencing the 13th of July, which isn't too bad since I ordered on 8th of June. 

 

I guess then it will be 2-3 weeks for it to get to Ireland on the boat then.

 

The wait is torture!

I think it must be down to production cycles / production lines for example do they do hatchbacks one week estates the next or something similar......

Think yourself lucky I ordered 7th June (though put through on the Monday) and my build week is previously week 37......which may change (they will be able to confirm one week before that)

 

So much for getting the car for September!

Not sure about that, if you look at the Skoda production lines on youtube hatches and estates come though on the same line.

 

Although the actual welding/build this might be true and they are just assembled on the same line.

wonder if it's a vRS issue? I ordered 8th May, built week 24, due in Dunfermline tomorrow, collect from Uphall Tuesday

I ordered an SE (1.2 estate) on the 24 April. I don't know the build date, but delivery isn't due until the second half of July (12-14 weeks from order).

I'm the same, car due to arrive at the dealer tomorrow but I can't get my hands on it until Tuesday.

 

It's like being a kid waiting for Christmas

Okay mine has arrived now - one day it is 'coming in the early part of July', then on 29th June 'can you come in tomorrow and pick it up'.  Except I couldn't because it is a leased car and registering it works differently, and they couldn't put my personal plate on it.  So Friday 3rd July then, but the dealer still couldn't register it with my plate, or maybe they can, and the plate is on the car already, but it isn't registered properly so they'll bring it to my house when it is ready...

 

Dealer has been really pleasant but a PCH deal seems to have really thrown them; they don't quite know what they're doing.

 

Long and short of it is that I'm in a brand new Fabia 1.2 whilst they sort it out.  Not complaining too much as the Fabia 1.2 really is a nice little car to drive; lovely buzzy, gutsy engine.  

 

When the saga is complete and I'm in my Scout I'll post some pics.

it would appear I misinterpreted the last email from the lease company which said 'confirmed build' - I had a non fault prang in the Q5 a few days ago and it's off the road for 5 weeks. When sorting things out with the lease firm ( same mob that's supplying the VRS estate) I was told the car was given a build slot 'last week'.!!

I ordered on 29 April. So if the car is being built now - what is the likely lead in time for it to be delivered to the UK dealer?

Yes that's the estimate InchCape gave me but there was a bit of slippage with the last car. Hopefully this will be about right although the Q5 isn't due to be completed at the bodyshop until early August so the VRS will have to wait at the dealers until it's sorted as i doubt work will let me have 2 lease cars!!!

Here's hoping for a seamless exchange date ( if I'm lucky) and posting up a few pics of the new toy ( Aye I know we all know what they look like but who doesn't like a snap of an 'out the wrapper' motor?

Ordered 12 May, build week 28. VRS metal grey. Estate. Manual. Dealer said end of July / first week of August for my car.

Ordered 1.4 Elegance hatch from broker 27th April and it's being delivered up to Perth next week. Must book flight down from Orkney now £140 one way!

ordered a no option vrs on PCH last day of may and not heard a peep since.  Might give them a shout as they said it would likely be after september but looking at some of the above it could be much earlier.

ordered 8th May, delivered 7th July  (post strategically positioned to disguise number plate)

 

 

 

I learnt today that my metal grey VRS diesel estate started being built on 18/06 and will be delivered by early September... Cannot wait!

Ordered vRS hatch on 28th June, build date provisionally set at week 36 (early Sept) at the moment.
