Octavia build dates for new orders

Featured Replies

Update!

Rang the dealer on Tuesday for some news.. the car is in the UK waiting for transport.

Got a call yesterday (yes they rang ME!) saying it's arrived at the dealers.. just waiting on finance paperwork.

I went in today & signed up... they advised it takes three working days to process & I will be able to collect the car next Thursday

First impressions:em~

250 miles in... what a well put together car, solid.. excellent suspension & ride.. the best I have driven in 25+ years of motoring.  The steering is sublime.. almost automatic.

Just had a quick blast down the motorway to sunny Blackpool.. full power onto motorway slip road.. WOW!  for a standard 150hp Scout it really performs.. no understeer like it's on rails!  100 mph ~ahem~ is whisper quiet....

Playing with cruise control @ 70 mph on the way back I I achieved 54-59 mpg.

The media centre is great.. albeit a little slow.. the MY16 variant will improve on this no doubt.

Can't wait to test out the 4WD in snow!

A very frustating wait... 13 weeks from order to collection.. but I'm happy :D

Thought I'd sign up as I've got a VRS on order.

Annoyingly after reading some of the above posts I seem to be waiting longer than other people.

Ordered Metal Grey VRS TDi on 31th March. Was told build week 21 (18th May) and I'm still yet to receive a car. I'm hoping the build week was delayed and I will receive a MY16 car. Called the dealer on the 5th June told it had just left the factory and to expect delivery the end of the month.

Think i'll call them again on Monday, I hate waiting!

Just got off the phone with my dealer and he has informed me he has no idea where my car is.

All he could tell me is that it was build week 21 and that it has been flagged for a quality control check.

He said the system doesn't show anything other than it's been built.

He said he's emailed VW to try and get an update for me. Does this sound legit? :(

Possibly, I ordered 25th March and was told car was built in week 21, shipped and arrived in UK port awaiting transportation on 9th June. Have heard nothing since...

Frustrating.

I sold my car at the end of May because I was told initially a delivery date around the end of May beginning of June.

Fortunately I have access to other cars otherwise I would be really stuck. As long as it arrives before my holiday on August 15th I'm not too worried, just impatient at the moment haha.

Ordered mine on the 17th april and have been given a build week of week 25 which i think is this week? so hopefully car will be with me towards the end of July

@Davey, mine was ordered 27th March, was build week 22 and is now on the dock at Grimsby. Spoke to Skoda UK and they confirmed it has had a req raised for a transporter and will be with the dealer this week. It is being delivered to my work head office in Cambridge in the morning of the 6th July. Hope this gives you an idea of timescale which I now have confirmed by SUK and finally the dealer, who haven't been helpful until now!

I asked my dealer about a build date for my car, ordered 2nd June. He said he didn't have a definite build date yet but is hoping to next week.

Am I right to assume this roughly translates to the build date is ages away and he's trying to rescue the situation as much as possible?

If it is I'll have to service and stick tyres on my own car...

Build week 30 so looking like mid-August delivery. Chuffed to bits now as I thought I was going to have to wait longer.

He said its an initial build week - could possibly be pulled back?

at least in Cork you're close to where it gets off the boat!  :D

Mines being built the week of 6th July

Unless it comes into Dublin port - like some of them do !!!

Ah well not a lot you can do about that. Must try to take my new one down your way, spent a lot of time in Dublin with work over the last four years but I need to make more effort to explore the rest of Ireland. My wife's from the north so we tend to end up spending all our visits up there

Plan your route if you want to keep that new car pristine!

Slipped another couple days, to the dealer 3rd July.... Come on!

Just spoke to Skoda UK, as I get no info from the dealer.

VRS TSI DSG ordered 28th April, built week 25 (w/b 15th June) and is now at the UK port - I didn't ask which one. Far quicker than I expected.

SUK say it should be about a week before it's at the dealer.

Getting excited now :sun:  :sun:

Likewise, ordered 8th May, built week 24 and was told on Tuesday it was on a ship - the only one in Emden on Tuesday was the Weser Highway which docked in Newcastle yesterday just after 4pm so I am working on the basis that it's on the quayside waiting for transport.

I'm still awaiting confirmation from Skoda UK about what build week mine is in. Beginning to this my untrusting gut feeling is right!!

Hmm

Mine has slipped to 36 from 29...

4 of these weeks will be taken up with the annual factory closure.

I bet the dealer will not be impressed as we are out of the country until the beginning of November, which means he will have an un sold car locked up in his compound for 4 weeks.

He was warned this might happen when we ordered it, but at that time he was quoting mid August delivery..

Mine got the dealers today, I'm collecting on Monday! Can't wait

What have you got?

Ordered a VRS TSI hatch yesterday via a broker, estimated to be end of September for delivery.

Still nothing after my call on Monday.

Phoned up and asked to speak to the sales manager to request my order number so I could phone Skoda UK. He even agreed I'd been waiting a while for the car. He said he could help me so I left him my number at 11am for him to look up the details and call me back... still nothing by 3pm. So I called again and asked him to call me back, still nothing 35 minutes later.

I just want to know whats going on with the car but it seems it's impossible to get an answer from them.

Mine has come into the port at tyneside, released waiting for transporter, hopefully itl get to morecambe end next week, told now waiting on paperwoelrk to come back for pch, seems like its a popular scheme, got backlog,

How 're you guys tracking the cars? Just SUK?

@Chris29 your dealer should be able to provide you updates. Failing that you can get updates from SUK.
