Superb Order tracker

Uncle Wang, being totally frank car was clean but not the showroom spotless you would get if picking up the car from INSIDE a Skoda showroom as car arrived on the back of a single car transporter and the weather was awful from Preston all the way down so quite a bit of rain debris nowhere near as mucky as if driven down but not gleaming. As for options I think I got all that I ordered . I checked the brollies and got a laugh from the delievery driver. BUT I did get something I did not want the rear wiper. Bother but I will say originally pre order I thought yes take that something free and practical but when I saw my first S3 in show room I though that really spoils the lines so it was on my original, quote to NCD but definitely off by the time I did my order when I added rear camera VERY GOOD DECISON as visibility not as great as S2.

Thank you for the info, being mega clean doesn't worry me especially with the amount of money I will be saving.

Enjoy your new car, cant wait for mine.

Hi,

Well after the early post regarding my order i contacted the dealer & pasted the results others are getting. The dealer posted back that there's a lot of factors at play. He ended up by telling me he had checked our order -- it has moved -- from W18 to------- W14 ! will the Gods be kind...............

Well my flabber is gasted ! Sent Email two days ago to SUK -- no reply but this afternoon a phone call !  Lady informed me our provisional build week ( 18 ) i am afraid i made the most of the moment ---- told her my thoughts on SUK & its communication ( or lack of ) with customers. She was somewhat taken aback when i pointed out the Order forum on here had passed the 100,000 visits. I further pointed out the lack of feedback from SUK was causing rumors & speculation and SUK would do well to keep customers in the picture of whats going on. We agreed that SUK will ring me once a fortnight......................

Said she would pass on my comments.............

Had two fortnights but not had a peep from SOK....................

Yeah Skoda keep peddling the line that bad weather is having an impact, and yet so far since last Wednesday I have watched ships sailing in and out every day.  Am watching Grimsby closely as that is where mine will end up but have seen ships to the Tyne and Sheerness also on a regular basis.  Since last Wednesday I have seen capacity of 5000 odd cars into Grimsby and over this weekend a further 3500 are expected scheduled according to the port movements at Emden.  The ships are crossing in good time, given there limited speed.

Car has now been built! Dealer claims it will take two weeks to get it transported to DK (by train). That sounds crazy.

Ordered a 1.4TSI Combi mid-November, was built early Feb, sat in a corner at Emden for 4 weeks according to my (equally annoyed) dealer.

Arrived in UK on Wednesday, should be at the dealer by the end of next week.

Bet theirs a few "Old Hands" who like me wish that our ships moved at the speed of the car transporters !

My Father was on Tramp Steamer's on Atlantic convoys, 6-knotts if you were lucky, 8-knotts and you were making so much smoke you could be seen miles away and the escorts would come and give you a rollicking.

Just to add my order to the timeline.

Order a 150Bhp L&K DSG Estate - White - Brown Leather, only option was mud flaps as it actual brought the Lease quote down £3 per month!.

Ordered it through Jet Vehicle Finance (JVH) near Birmingham.

Placed order on the 5th Feb with JVH (Arval paperwork signed 11th Feb) and have been given an unconfirmed build week of WK24 (13th June), so 18 weeks lead time (from the 11th) just to be built and then its needs delivering.

So long wait ahead.

Final update on here. Car delivered today and currently sitting outside the house ready to be cleaned tomorrow morning.

SE Business estate, 2.0 150 manual in Business Grey, heated front seats, windscreen and washers, factory fitted towbar.

Ordered 27th November.

Hope delivery times improve for the rest of you. I remember when I was waiting for a build week but it was worth the wait.

Hi, first post here as I didn't want to think too much about how long I was having to wait for the car.

Ordered 1st November through a lease company (ALD) and I have had zero feedback regarding build dates, shipping dates etc. other than the initial date I was given of March 1st. Just had notification that the car will be delivered to me on Wednesday so the wait is nearly over. It is actually a slight improvement over my last car which was an Octavia Greenline and took a full 6 months to be delivered.

Ordered a 2.0L 150hp diesel Business edition estate in quartz grey with some extras:

  • Heated front sceen
  • Heated seats
  • Columbus sat nav
  • Rear camera
  • Space saver wheel

Was so close to ordering a Citroen Grand Picasso in top spec which I know is quite a different car but is really comfortable to drive with such good visibility. That would have been ready around Christmas time.

Skoda business leasing did lend me a black L&K estate for a week in November though so I know it will be worth the wait.

Hi, I ordered a style with beige leather and cappuccino colour on the outside on the 25th of November in skoda dealer Limerick. The following week he tried to pull out of deal and refunded the deposit. I told him that he couldn't do that and he let slip then that if he didn't sell the car by Jan 31st they would lose out on a dealers bonus. He said it would the first of May before we got it and I said that's fine. Then I looked for an update on the first of Feb and he said it was in build stage. I decided then to contact him yesterday and now he tells me it's the end of August. That's now over 9 months from start to finish bearing mind I have payed a 1000€ deposit. I know the dealers wants me to pull out but I ain't as I won't get the trade in now on my car that I got in Nov due to the year change. . Are there many people here with a serious delay like this. Any good advice

I agree completely. My story ; ordered 190 DSG l&k beige leather on 27th Nov - told build was likely to be early Jan - collect late Jan. I was a happy camper, then the dreaded beige leather issue occurred, and I got build weeks From 20 to 23 to week 39 (2016 I should add) after poor response from dealer and Skoda Ireland, I took up my pen and wrote to the MDs of both organisations and within two days service and responsiveness improved significantly. This week I got a call to say car will be built (including beige leather) by end March and I'll have delivery in April. The moral of my story is complain loudly - don't let them get away with poor delivery - we are paying good money ( for a good motor) but the wait times are criminal, and they'll continue unless the complaints are loud enough. There is a mixture on this site of people who say 'they are busy' or 'I'd rather wait to get good quality' as if we are getting such a bargain that we shouldn't complain. I disagree, if they want their brand taken seriously (and I think they do) they gave to improve the build times - and keep quality.

Can I asked where did you get the contacts as I will do this too. Thanks

I got them off the internet - I found names and then used the head office addresses of both companies. Skoda Ireland told me that there are 40 odd cars stuck due to beige leather issue - they sent a senior guy over a couple of weeks ago and I ended up getting a firm build date as a result - it's definitely worth going to Skoda direct and I suggest you look up Brand manager Skoda Ireland
